Chapter 12 – Unleash Your Imagination!

The next day, early morning.

The Martial Arts Hall was bustling with activity.

Zhao Hongzhou changed into his martial arts uniform and had just stepped out of the lounge.

Seeing a familiar figure ahead, his eyes lit up, and he strode forward to pat the person's shoulder.

Before his hand could land, the figure ahead suddenly turned, sidestepping swiftly, eyes sharp as lightning, and raised a hand in a knife-hand strike.

Whoosh!

The knife-hand stopped an inch from his neck, the force of the wind brushing past.

Zhao Hongzhou's outstretched left hand froze in mid-air, a stiff smile spreading across his face.

"Shan... Brother Shan, it's me!"

"Reflex, sorry!"

Li Qingshan shook his head, retracting his hand, and glanced at the lounge behind Zhao Hongzhou.

Luckily, he had left the machete in the lounge earlier, otherwise...

Thinking of this, he gently pinched his brow and reminded him again.

"Don't sneak up on me from behind these days, I'm afraid I won't be able to stop myself."

"It won't happen again, it won't."

Zhao Hongzhou rubbed his neck, still shaken, and then curiously asked:

"Brother Shan, when you went back yesterday, you didn't practice martial arts all night, did you?"

Before, Li Qingshan didn't have such a frightening "reflex."

"I just joined the Martial Arts Class, what martial arts would I practice? It's just a bit of combat reflex."

Li Qingshan gently shook his head, looking past Zhao Hongzhou, where Yu Lei was walking towards them.

"Li Qingshan, can you tell me how you practiced?" Yu Lei's eyes were shining.

She had witnessed the entire scene just now.

Compared to the other classmates, she had the opportunity to be exposed to martial arts earlier and had been practicing martial techniques for some time.

But such a quick reaction as Li Qingshan's was something she absolutely couldn't achieve.

Facing those bright eyes, Li Qingshan pondered for a moment before saying:

"It's actually not difficult, as long as your imagination is vivid enough."

"Imagination?"

Yu Lei was taken aback, not expecting such an answer.

Zhao Hongzhou frowned in thought, but no matter how he pondered, he couldn't figure out what "imagination" had to do with it.

"Well... when you're practicing, don't be confined to the current environment, fully unleash your imagination, and envision an opponent, like Langdu!"

Li Qingshan spoke eloquently, becoming increasingly fluent.

"Brother Shan, I get it." Zhao Hongzhou's eyes lit up.

"You mean to create a powerful imaginary opponent and use the life-and-death crisis to stimulate personal progress."

"You're a teachable kid."

Li Qingshan lightly patted Zhao Hongzhou's arm, nodding in satisfaction.

"Life-and-death crisis?" Yu Lei seemed to grasp something.

In martial arts training, combat is naturally an indispensable part, and even her uncle, Wan Keshan, had personally sparred with her.

But such "combat" could never involve a life-and-death crisis.

However, this seemed more reliable than "imagination," right?

Yu Lei looked at Li Qingshan, her gaze growing increasingly peculiar.

Creating a life-and-death crisis with just "imagination," and having it be more effective than actual combat?

Unconsciously, Yu Lei took a step back.

She had seen this kind of "imagination" before, but not in the Martial Arts Class, rather in a mental hospital!

Li Qingshan also noticed Yu Lei's strange look, but he didn't have the mind to think about it at the moment.

His right hand couldn't help but pinch his brow again, fatigue flashing in his eyes.

How could it be so easy to learn?

It took risking one's life, hundreds of lives!

Though dying was just a projection and wouldn't cause real injury, the pain was incredibly real.

As time passed, classmates gradually gathered, and the group naturally formed.

However, when lining up, Li Qingshan found that all the classmates stood behind him.

Forcing him to step out of the line, he ended up in the front row, with Zhao Hongzhou, Yu Lei, and Hong Qian beside him.

Li Qingshan glanced around and noticed two people missing.

"Liang Mingyu and Liu Jingya aren't here?"

Hong Qian glanced at him and said:

"One was scared unconscious by a Ferocious Beast, the other was so frightened by you that they kneeled, probably too ashamed to come."

"I heard that after class yesterday, the two of them voluntarily withdrew from the Martial Arts Class."

Zhao Hongzhou whispered gossip, sneaky.

Yu Lei's lips curled slightly, adding:

"No, they were directly expelled by Teacher Wan."

Clearly, Yu Lei's information was more accurate.

"What a pity." Li Qingshan sighed.

Hmm?

The three were all stunned, looking at him curiously.

Li Qingshan twisted his right ankle, regretting:

"I originally wanted to spar with her often in the future."

Her?

Spar with Liang Mingyu?

Yu Lei frowned, puzzled, just about to ask, but immediately closed her mouth.

At the front entrance of the hall, a burly figure was approaching them.

Wan Keshan had arrived.

"The discipline is good, I hope you can maintain it."

Looking at the quiet and orderly group, Wan Keshan nodded in satisfaction.

"Starting today, for the next six months, our focus will be on the technique 'The Stars Are Calling.'"

"I know some of you may not take it seriously, thinking it's just a set of calisthenics."

"But, let me tell you..."

Wan Keshan's gaze swept over everyone, a grin spreading across his face.

"This set of calisthenics is the most advanced product on the entire Ziying Star, and even the entire Chihong Starfield."

The most advanced?

Li Qingshan was a bit bewildered.

Although he didn't look down on this technique, he didn't expect it to be so impressive!

Li Qingshan wasn't the only one bewildered; the other students wore the same expression.

"Don't believe it?"

Wan Keshan glanced at them, shaking his head:

"Ziying Star is just an ordinary planet in the Chihong Starfield."

"Whether it's the communicator in your hand, the Sky Patroler flying in the sky, or the various high-tech products from the New Continent, they can't compare to other major stars."

"Only 'The Stars Are Calling' is different! It's the crystallization of countless predecessors of the federation, undergoing thirty-six generations of evolution."

"Every time it's updated, it immediately spreads to all planets within the Chihong Starfield."

"Even if some martial arts major stars have more profound body refinement techniques, those techniques have thresholds, and the only one that can truly be popularized among the populace is 'The Stars Are Calling.'"

After this explanation, all the students suddenly understood, their spirits considerably uplifted.

Wan Keshan observed this, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes, as he began to delve into the main topic.

"'The Stars Are Calling' consists of four levels: movement, exertion, breathing, muscle..." Wan Keshan spoke slowly.

When discussing the technique of exertion and breathing coordination, he was particularly detailed, facilitating the students' self-comparison.

An hour later,

Wan Keshan finally finished explaining the third level.

Just as Li Qingshan's eyes were bright, ready to explore the mysterious fourth level.

"Take a ten-minute break, then we'll start practicing."

Wan Keshan waved his hand, saying no more.

The group dispersed, leaving Li Qingshan standing there.

He thought he knew Wan Keshan well enough, but he realized he was still too young.

Wan Keshan smiled without speaking, waiting for everyone to return before he spoke:

"According to the technique levels, stand in groups and prepare to practice."

The students automatically divided into three groups, each spreading out and getting into position.

Li Qingshan, as a group of one, had a lot of space around him.

Just after completing the first movement,

"Calm your mind, focus on your breathing." Wan Keshan's voice reached his ears.

As expected!

Li Qingshan wasn't surprised, continuing to the next movement.

"The focus of the fourth level is on muscle rhythm."

Entering the main topic, Wan Keshan's voice became serious.

"Our body muscles contain countless tiny nerve distributions."

"Think carefully, have you ever suddenly felt a muscle in your arm or thigh pulsate with your heartbeat?"

"The fourth level is about using breathing to mobilize the heart's power, to sense the nerves hidden in the muscles, and to master this pulsation."

"When exerting force in each movement, simultaneously mobilize the nerves in the corresponding area, causing the muscles to twitch. If you can achieve this, your practice efficiency will double again."

Wan Keshan's explanation was simple and easy to understand.

But to sense the nerves hidden in the muscles?

Li Qingshan calmed his mind, carefully sensing the heartbeat with each breath.

But only the muscles and bones exerted force; mastering the subtle nerves beyond the muscles and bones was easier said than done.

"Don't rush, take your time. You have good comprehension, it shouldn't take long for you to understand."

Wan Keshan advised, turning to leave.

Li Qingshan decided not to dwell on it, a virtual panel flashed before his eyes.

The teacher was right, it wouldn't take long for him to "understand"!
