Chapter 2 – The Old Man's Unmatched Handsomeness

"Crash!"

The shop on the left side of the street suddenly shattered, and a hunched humanoid creature burst out.

Its body was hunched, its face decayed, with maggots writhing out of its mouth and nose. Tattered clothes couldn't hide the crimson flesh, resembling a skinned corpse.

"Zombie?!"

Su Yan was shocked.

"Roar!"

The zombie stretched its neck, roaring as thick, foul-smelling saliva dripped down. The moment it rushed out of the shop, it charged straight at Su Yan.

Without hesitation, it had a clear target and moved swiftly, faster than a sprinter!

"Damn!"

Su Yan cursed under his breath, gripping the only card in his hand tightly, "Use!"

A quick look at "pawread.com" will leave you more fulfilled.

As the command was issued, the card exploded, transforming into a bright red light that enveloped Su Yan.

[Please select the "Combat Lore" to load.]

The zombie was almost upon him, and it was still asking!

"Martial Arts Master! Martial Arts Master!... Any will do!"

Su Yan shouted in anger, watching helplessly as the zombie leapt over scattered vehicles, its body wrapped in a foul, bloody aura, pouncing towards him!

Damn it!

It's coming!

Transform quickly!

[Confirmation of loading.]

["Martial Arts Master - Combat Lore" has been activated.]

The zombie was upon him!

Its sharp, slime-covered, disease-ridden nails were about to touch Su Yan!

The red light suddenly contracted, and a man's palm pushed through the surrounding light, striking forward fiercely!

"Boom!"

The palm strike, faster than the eye could see, unleashed an invisible, powerful force.

The zombie's abdomen was suddenly hit by an air cannon, its body jerking violently before being blasted away, crashing into a wrecked car.

The red light dissipated, revealing Su Yan.

His long black hair draped over his shoulders, his face calm, eyes unperturbed, as he assumed a classic martial arts stance, slowly retracting his hand.

"Mere demon, dare to harm me."

Su Yan flicked his sleeve, hands behind his back, "Hmph."

The vehicle was dented from the impact, steel fragments pinning the broken zombie's body. It continued to roar, but with only half its body left, it couldn't struggle free.

Su Yan stood alone on the desolate, abandoned city street, his long black hair fluttering, his gaze indifferent, exuding an elegant demeanor.

This feeling, how to describe it...

Su Yan was still himself, aware of who he was, where he was, and that he was once an ordinary office worker who loved staying home playing games.

He remembered all his past memories, and the Martial Arts Master's Combat Lore didn't overwrite them, nor did it distort his perception and memory.

But somehow!

Su Yan felt different now!

From the inside out, from the depths of his heart, he felt invincible!

No, not that kind of invincible... it was the loneliness of being unbeatable, the temperament of a master, the desolation of an undefeated loner.

It felt like there was nothing to fear here, I am invincible in the world!

I, Su Yan! Master of both internal and external cultivation for sixty years, the greatest martial artist!

Mere zombies, nothing more!

[Warning!]

[Do not stop!]

A scorching, stinging sensation came from underfoot, causing Su Yan to frown.

"Hmph."

He flicked his sleeve, snorting coldly, "Why rush? I will move forward on my own, no need for your urging."

Didn't you see I was just fighting monsters? Do you have to rush me for that too?

Su Yan took a slow step forward, the stinging sensation dissipating completely. He channeled his abundant inner qi into his calves, feeling a warm sensation from the soles of his feet, rapidly healing the areas damaged by the mysterious force.

After loading the Martial Arts Master's Combat Lore, Su Yan, in a sense, became the Martial Arts Master himself. Using martial arts techniques and managing inner qi felt as natural as breathing, requiring no deliberate effort.

Su Yan took two steps, suddenly hearing a monster's roar in his ear.

"Roar."

Out of the corner of his eye, Su Yan saw the unfortunate zombie stuck in the car calling out.

"Noisy!"

Su Yan raised his hand abruptly, sending a thick wave of inner qi through the air, smashing onto the zombie's head.

"Boom!"

The zombie's head exploded on the spot, spewing out a large amount of foul, black liquid.

[Successfully killed a Tier 1 zombie, gained 1 Blood Coin.]

The information appeared, then transformed into a faint light, gathering in the upper left corner of Su Yan's vision.

Next to Su Yan's avatar, a faint red [1] appeared, representing the number of Blood Coins he now possessed.

"Quite mysterious indeed."

Su Yan spoke with a calm tone, then raised his eyebrows to look ahead.

Not far ahead, zombies began emerging from various decaying buildings, wandering in groups on the street.

Meanwhile, the progress bar representing this round of Racewalk in the upper left corner of his vision had only moved slightly forward.

"Though they are ugly, they also present an opportunity."

Su Yan murmured softly, "Very well, let me accept this gift."

He gathered his energy, his inner qi surging, causing his clothes to flutter without wind.

Su Yan's steps paused only slightly, and in the next moment, he shot forward, his movements like thunder, quickly closing in on the zombie horde ahead, using only his bare hands to strike left and right.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Inner qi struck through the air, each burst of inner qi was extremely fierce and thick, each strike precise, all landing on the zombies' heads.

"Pop! Pop! Pop!"

On the street, one zombie head after another exploded in the air.

Many zombies didn't even have time to react before they were dead, while the remaining ones, agitated by the disturbance, noticed Su Yan approaching and rushed at him, roaring.

But their swift speed seemed like a turtle's pace to Su Yan now. With a simple change of technique, inner qi struck through the air, and this group of zombies couldn't get close at all.

[Successfully killed a Tier 1 zombie, gained 1 Blood Coin.]

......

Information prompts kept popping up, transforming into streams of Blood Coins quickly filling Su Yan's wallet.

Su Yan was delighted, killing with enthusiasm, and couldn't help but laugh heartily.

"Hahaha! Come again, let me kill more demons!"

"Heaven and earth tremble, humanity is lost, I am here to slay you monsters!"

On the deserted street, paper bags flew, a foul wind blew, dark and dilapidated.

Only Su Yan's joyful laughter disturbed the eerie silence, a laugh that was clearly youthful yet carried a sense of worldly weariness.

As the laughter faded, shattering the terrifying atmosphere, more zombies were startled and rushed out from the buildings, roaring as they charged at Su Yan from all directions.

"Come, all of you come out!"

Su Yan laughed heartily, his black hair dancing, his inner qi striking more frequently.

"Come at me, let me kill to my heart's content!"

Su Yan was truly immersed, feeling his dantian's inner qi surging like the sea, his mind unconsciously recalling various hand-to-hand martial arts techniques, each capable of striking enemies from afar.

Primordial Void-Breaking Palm, Dragon-Elephant Tiangang Force, Azure Sea Tempest Fist, Flowing Cloud Acupoint Hand... each move was perfectly executed.

Combined with Su Yan's original understanding: to kill zombies, you must explode their heads!

The entire street sounded like firecrackers going off, the popping sounds endless.

As Su Yan continued to charge forward, zombie heads exploded one after another, the foul black liquid not touching him at all.

The slaughter was truly exhilarating, and in the blink of an eye, two hours had passed.

It was a seamless flow, until Su Yan could no longer see any zombies with his naked eye, nor did any new zombies emerge from the surrounding buildings. Only then did he reluctantly stop.

Inspecting his internal state, he found that more than half of his inner qi remained, enough for several more rounds of battle.

"Hmph, all just straw bags, nothing more."

Su Yan returned to the demeanor of a reclusive master, walking slowly down the street with his hands behind his back, his gaze cautiously sweeping the surroundings, still seeing no new threats.

Could it be that I am too strong, causing the zombie tide to collapse?

They said the monsters were endless, coming wave after wave, but I killed them to the point of a break?

Thinking of this, Su Yan couldn't help but feel a faint sense of invincible loneliness.

"Retrieve the card."

With a thought, Su Yan's body emitted a red glow, transforming into a brilliant card that slowly fell into his pocket.

And the feeling of invincible solitude in Su Yan's heart quickly faded, his long black hair shrinking back to normal short hair.

The inner qi was gone, his clothes no longer fluttered, and the terrifying, eerie atmosphere around him surged back, causing Su Yan to shiver involuntarily.

"Damn, is this how obvious it feels to be an ordinary person!"

"Just now I felt invincible, and now it feels like there are monsters hiding everywhere."

Su Yan cursed under his breath, but he didn't dare stop walking, continuing to move forward.

"Although the card didn't say what would happen if the energy after loading Combat Lore ran out, it's better to save some."

"If I don't use the card, the inner qi should slowly recover to its peak, right?"

Su Yan pondered for a moment, his gaze drifting to the upper left corner of his vision.

"Wow, I made a profit this time!"

Su Yan's face lit up with joy, his Blood Coins had accumulated to 1255.

The Martial Arts Master is indeed powerful!

In two hours, I killed over a thousand zombies, worthy of being the greatest martial artist! I, Su Yan, acknowledge it!

The only flaw is that it made me act too pretentious, my words and actions like an old man.

Su Yan touched his chin, "With so many Blood Coins, should I try drawing a few more times?"

"Even though the Free First Draw guarantees a Legendary Card, I can't just draw once a day."

"Even if I don't get something top-tier, getting anything is an improvement and makes me stronger."

"Hmm... there are a few other icons I haven't had time to figure out yet."

Su Yan had already figured out the mechanisms related to the altar card pool, card effects, Racewalk progress, warning threats, Blood Coins, and other aspects of the Endless Road.

Su Yan glanced at the remaining icons, which included a flag, a skull, and a communication icon.

He pondered briefly, then reached out to click on the flag icon. A red light revealed a new interface, listing one human avatar after another.

These human avatars were both male and female, vivid and lifelike, each accompanied by a "Zombie Ruined City 1-1" label.

[Please select a user to "Invite to Team," to initiate Team Death Walk, Death Wager, or Horror Sprint.]

[If the invitation is declined, you can choose to randomly match with a user or spend Blood Coins for a forced invitation and match.]

"Hmm? This is the team interface!"

Su Yan suddenly realized, naturally not considering matching with strangers. Although he seemed to have missed some basic starting information, there was no need to take risks.

What if I meet someone unreasonable, who agrees to be teammates but then turns on me?

That's not acceptable; if anyone's going to get turned on, it should be me doing it, not the other way around.

Moreover, besides the team option, the prompt also mentioned wager and sprint options, which didn't sound like fun, full of malice.

"As for this 'Zombie Ruined City 1-1,' it should be similar to the Racewalk progress bar?"

"Everyone starts in the Zombie Ruined City, so I should be no exception. This means the place I'm currently in is the 'Zombie Ruined City,' with the Racewalk progress at Stage 1-1."

Su Yan murmured as he analyzed, then closed the team interface and looked at the skull interface.

He reached out to click, and a strong red light surged, rushing towards him, giving Su Yan an ominous feeling of heart palpitations.

Immediately, a blood-red interface appeared before his eyes, listing a line of terrifying, twisted text.

Su Yan focused his gaze, and couldn't help but be shocked.

"Hiss! Don't get me wrong, it was a misclick!"
