Chapter 4 – It's actually true

As the cloud of dust drew nearer, Luo Qingyi finally saw what it was.

"Desolate Sandworm!"

Out of the wolf's den, into the tiger's mouth.

Damn it, aren't these worms usually dormant? Why did they suddenly awaken?

Desolate Sandworms, a type of demonic beast found only in the Great Wildlands.

The Great Wildlands are barren and lack Spiritual Qi. These worms, often several meters long, sleep underground for years, only awakening if they encounter prey worthy of their attention. Otherwise, they might not wake for a century.

Luo Qingyi didn't believe that a mere Qi Refinement cultivator like herself was worthy of their attention, nor was the wolf demon chasing her.

So, there was only one answer.

Luo Qingyi glanced at the red claw limb behind her.

"Roar!!!"

Distracted for just a moment, the nearly twenty-meter-long Desolate Sandworm was already upon her, its mouth full of fangs wide open.

Behind the Desolate Sandworm was a trench it had carved out as it moved, as if the earth itself had been torn apart, sending yellow sand flying everywhere.

Luo Qingyi's hand trembled as she gripped her sword.

A Golden Elixir Demonic Beast!

Having consumed the claw limb, she had clearly become the target of this demon.

Luo Qingyi grasped the broken Flying Sword and leapt forward, taking the initiative.

Once the Desolate Sandworm began its attack, she wouldn't have a chance to fight back. It was better to strike first and perhaps find a sliver of hope.

The Desolate Sandworm clearly didn't expect the tiny creature before it to resist its pressure and even counterattack. Caught off guard, Luo Qingyi drove the broken sword straight into the Desolate Sandworm's head.

"Roar!"

Even a beast as unintelligent as the Desolate Sandworm felt anger. It twisted its body frantically, trying to shake off the little creature on its head.

But Luo Qingyi unleashed an astonishing strength, and instead of loosening, the broken sword drove in three inches deeper.

Luo Qingyi was pleasantly surprised to find her strength increasing. The claw limb meat she had swallowed was rapidly being absorbed, transforming into energy that nourished her body.

She could clearly feel her physical strength enhancing.

The power was gentle enough for her to absorb without side effects.

That senior must have anticipated this, cooking the demonic beast meat to reduce its violent energy so she could absorb it. The senior was helping her.

Thinking of this, Luo Qingyi felt even more grateful to the unknown senior.

"Roar!!!"

Realizing it couldn't shake off the little creature, the Desolate Sandworm grew even more furious. It leapt into the air and then crashed down, trying to throw Luo Qingyi off.

Luo Qingyi knew that a beast as unintelligent as the Desolate Sandworm couldn't use spells. It had nothing but brute strength.

Even so, Luo Qingyi was finding it increasingly difficult to hold on.

Though her body had been strengthened, it was still a Golden Elixir Demonic Beast, terrifying even without spells.

She couldn't hold on much longer.

If she were thrown off, there would be only one outcome.

Meanwhile, Heyu, who had been watching all this, grew more anxious. If the glass case was just a projection, it would be fine, but the little sprite might be real.

Heyu wanted to reach in and grab the worm-like creature, but the sprite and the worm were so close together that he might accidentally hurt the sprite.

What to do, what to do?

Heyu frantically looked around and suddenly noticed the lighter on the table.

He had taken it from his boss during a company gathering.

Quickly, he picked up the lighter, dismantled it in a few moves, and removed the piezoelectric igniter, holding it in his hand.

"Get out of the way!"

Luo Qingyi heard the senior's voice again. Having witnessed the senior's methods, she instinctively let go of the sword, allowing herself to be thrown off by the Desolate Sandworm, rolling several times on the ground before stopping.

The Desolate Sandworm, delighted to finally rid itself of the pesky creature, opened its mouth wide, ready to swallow Luo Qingyi and then savor the delicious red claw limb.

Though unintelligent, it could clearly sense that consuming the red claw limb would greatly enhance its cultivation.

Watching the Desolate Sandworm approach, Luo Qingyi remained unflustered. In just half a day, she had come to completely trust the senior.

At that moment, the world changed dramatically. The once clear sky was suddenly filled with a fierce wind, and dark clouds quickly obscured the sun, plunging the world into darkness.

The Desolate Sandworm looked up in terror, its body trembling.

Boom!

The dark clouds swirled in the sky, forming a terrifying vortex, as an incredible power brewed.

"Uh..."

Luo Qingyi swallowed hard.

Could the senior's power really change the heavens?

The Desolate Sandworm trembled, wanting to flee, but the energy in the sky gave it no chance. A terrifying azure-violet thunderbolt tore through the firmament, splitting the heavens and earth, striking the Desolate Sandworm without mercy.

Boom!

The world turned white.

Then, the fierce wind ceased, the dark clouds dispersed, and the sun shone on the earth once more.

Everything seemed to return to normal.

Only the deep black pit, filled with flowing magma, remained to tell of the recent terror.

Luo Qingyi stood at the edge of the pit, recalling the terrifying scene, her face pale.

She wanted to stand, but her legs wouldn't stop trembling, leaving her powerless.

Too, too terrifying.

"Phew."

Seeing the little worm electrocuted, Heyu breathed a sigh of relief.

He had finally saved the little sprite.

However, while the piezoelectric igniter's shock was painful, it shouldn't have been enough to create a lava-filled pit, right?

Heyu looked at the pale-faced sprite, worriedly asking: "Are you okay?"

He hoped he hadn't hurt the sprite, but he hadn't expected the piezoelectric igniter to be so powerful inside the glass case.

Hearing Heyu's words, Luo Qingyi's trembling legs instantly steadied, and she quickly stood up.

"Thank you, senior, for saving my life. I have nothing to repay you with. If you have any requests, I will fulfill them!"

Luo Qingyi knelt down.

"Anything?"

Heyu asked, puzzled.

Hearing this, Luo Qingyi was about to nod when she suddenly thought of something, her face turning red.

"Anything."

Luo Qingyi said each word deliberately, unsure how to repay the senior who had saved her three times.

"Do you have a Flying Sword?"

Hearing this, Luo Qingyi was taken aback. She hadn't expected Heyu to want that.

"The Flying Sword was destroyed, but I have a practice Flying Sword my master made for me. Do you need it, senior?"

Luo Qingyi asked cautiously.

"Yes, give it to me."

Hearing this, Luo Qingyi quickly rummaged through her Storage Pouch and found a wooden Flying Sword.

Not knowing how to give it to the senior, she carefully placed it in the ground.

"Senior, this is a practice Flying Sword crafted by my master. It has a Sword-Control Formation engraved on it and is embedded with Spirit Stones. Even an ordinary person can use it to practice Sword-Control techniques."

Luo Qingyi explained earnestly.

Heyu looked at the tiny Flying Sword, smaller than a hair, and was at a loss.

How was he supposed to take it? He couldn't possibly pick it up with his hands.

He rummaged through his house and finally found a small pair of tweezers.

He had bought them to fix his phone's speaker, perfect for picking up tiny objects.

Carefully, Heyu extended the tweezers into the glass case.

Meanwhile, Luo Qingyi, seeing the senior's delayed response, began to worry she had offended him somehow.

Just then, two giant metal rods appeared from the sky, gently taking the wooden Flying Sword from the ground.

This puzzled Luo Qingyi.

The senior seemed reluctant to show himself.

Could there be a reason for this?

Outside the glass case, Heyu carefully placed the tiny wooden sword in his hand for closer inspection.

"It's real. The world inside the case is real."

Looking at the exquisite little wooden sword in his hand, Heyu finally confirmed that he wasn't hallucinating. The glass case truly contained a world.

A Cultivation World.
