Chapter 5 – Fusion gene

"You have died three times. Please wait for the second closed beta to reopen."

Jiang Junhao was utterly bewildered!

I was evolving just fine, finally becoming a decent super ant, building an army to rule the world, just about to conquer it, and now you're telling me the once-in-a-millennium natural disaster is suddenly gone?

Damn it!

Jiang Junhao felt like he was about to cough up blood.

Hey!!

You lousy game developers, get out here! I'll chop off your heads!

Not only was Jiang Junhao frustrated to the point of vomiting blood, but the audience watching the live stream was also bewildered, then burst into laughter one by one.

"Wow, haha, feeling sorry for the Ant Emperor for a second, no more than that, because a second in there is several months."

"Indeed, no matter how awesome you are in the game, you can't beat the developers. If they want racial extinction, it's racial extinction, and it even makes sense."

"This elimination rate is terrifying. Kicking players out one by one, doesn't the game company want to make money?"

"Oh, are there any other players streaming? I want to see other species!"

While the forum was abuzz with discussion, Chen Luo gave an order in his consciousness, "Analyze the Ant Queen's gene."

"Analyzing... Primary life form, evolved to the peak of its species, low gene value, can produce 0.01% Divine Descendant Gene, evaluation: ordinary."

Chen Luo was overjoyed, finally producing a gene species of value.

[Do you want to integrate the Ant Queen's gene to complete the Divine Descendant Gene?]

Hearing the prompt from the Primordial Brush, Chen Luo immediately said, "Integrate!"

"Integrating now."

"Integration begins!"

A mechanical voice sounded.

Instantly, a tearing pain from the depths of his soul hit him.

Cold sweat broke out on Chen Luo's forehead, and he collapsed onto the bed, his whole body twitching slightly until he couldn't bear it anymore and completely passed out.

When Chen Luo came to, half a day had passed.

He got up from the ground and saw that he was emitting a foul odor, his skin covered in black-gray grime, as if he had been soaked in mud.

Chen Luo quickly took a shower and changed his clothes before looking at his body again.

He felt distinctly different from usual, not only feeling energetic but also as if he had endless strength inside him.

Chen Luo didn't expect that just completing 0.01% of the Divine Descendant Gene would bring such earth-shattering changes, suggesting the immense power that would come from unlocking the First-Order Gene Lock.

And his soul memory told him that he must unlock the Third-Order Gene Lock within three years, or he would surely die.

What kind of terrifying enemy would he face in the future?

Thinking of this, Chen Luo's excitement instantly cooled down. He felt he needed to bring in more players.

He had only found 1,000 people so far, contributing 0.01% of the Divine Descendant Gene. If he could bring in tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, the larger the base, the more valuable species would naturally emerge.

Chen Luo focused his consciousness into the Genesis world, where it was already the third day, and only one-fifth of the players remained, with just 22 species left.

Those who survived such fierce competition were of relatively high biological levels. Species like ants, plants, and fish either became food for other species or went extinct due to natural disasters.

For example, Jiang Junhao's tsunami was indeed an automatic evolution of this world, not something Chen Luo deliberately set up to trap him.

Currently, the surviving groups were the Beastman Race and Homo Sapiens. The Beastman Race, with their beast genes, adapted well to the primitive social environment, being superior to Homo Sapiens in both numbers and individual strength.

Now, the Beastman Race was divided into the Wolf Clan, Fox Clan, Tiger Clan, Cat Clan, Dog Clan, Bear Clan, Sheep Clan, etc., plus the Ratman Clan and Antman Clan, totaling twenty-one species.

The twenty-one species each occupied a region on this continent, continuously developing and growing.

Although the creators of these species appeared as beastmen, they were actually humans, building their tribes according to their own ideas.

By the fourth day, due to the inherent differences between beastmen's vocal cords and humans', they couldn't use human language, so each major beastman clan developed its own language system.

And with the explosive growth of the beastman population, large tribal settlements emerged, and the first city belonging to the Beastman Race began to take shape.

Beastman Civilization had begun its developmental sprout.

Soon, the first city-state established by the Wolf Clan appeared. They had their own culture, their own language, and began trade and communication.

At this point, the development of species was no longer under the control of each species' founder, having fully entered a free evolutionary historical process.

Because by this time, the players who created these species had already died of old age.

But they hadn't exited the game; instead, they were observing the development of their created species as spectators, using God's Perspective.

They all turned on the live streaming system, allowing more people to witness the magnificent history of species development with them.

This was a true history of species development, even more thrilling than Jiang Junhao's ant colony, because each of these species had its own independent soul, just like real people. They had their own emotions and independent thinking abilities, not just AI-generated NPCs.

These species didn't perish because their progenitors were gone; instead, they developed faster and faster. The Beastman Race gradually became the dominant force on this era's continent, while the Human Race was compressed to the southernmost continent.

Seeing this, not only were the players amazed, but even the audience watching the live stream was so shocked that their jaws almost dropped.

The high level of realism was one thing, but the fact that NPCs could have such high AI, capable of free interaction, and that the entire world developed reasonably and orderly according to historical processes, was simply unbelievable!

Everyone could feel a profound sense of history, watching with such fascination that they couldn't stop.

On the fifth day, Homo Sapiens had evolved over fifty thousand years to completely resemble modern humans.

The original Homo Sapiens had perished in the passage of time, and now the humans, in their memories, seemed to have lived on this continent since ancient times.

The human population had grown from being counted in hundreds to tens of thousands, spreading from a few small tribes to the entire southern region, like sparks setting a prairie ablaze.

In the north, the Beastman tribes had begun to form city-states and civilizations, and humans, in their continuous expansion, had already started interacting with these beastmen.

Various bronze artifacts began to appear in Tribal Civilization, and the advent of the City-State Era accelerated the evolution of Beastman Civilization. They had already begun to have their first king.
