Chapter 11 – This really tests his eyesight

After learning about the Prodigy Tournament, Bai Ruxue lingered with Su Jue for a while before leaving his residence.

A day later, after Su Jue had absorbed the system's rewards, it was time to set off.

Su Jue bid farewell to his Master and learned that he and the Fourth Elder's direct disciples were to gather at the Sword Sect's plaza.

On the way to the plaza, Su Jue could clearly feel the fearful gazes around him, with no one daring to approach.

This was normal, and Su Jue was already used to it.

To play his role as a villain well, he had been causing trouble and bullying his junior brothers and sisters in the days leading up to his junior sister's arrival.

Even some senior brothers and sisters were wary of Su Jue's status, turning a blind eye to his arrogance and domineering behavior.

Upon reaching the agreed location, Su Jue found no one waiting for him.

Just as he was wondering if he had remembered the wrong place and time, a sweet voice came from behind him.

"Excuse me... are you Junior Brother Su Jue?"

Su Jue turned to see an extremely beautiful young girl.

Her hair was as black as lacquer, her skin like jade.

Her complexion was fair, like a pearl with a soft glow.

Her beautiful eyes sparkled with a gentle light, looking at him somewhat timidly from behind.

This was a young girl whose beauty was on par with his Master and junior sister.

As Su Jue sized up An Ke, she was also sizing up Su Jue.

Before coming, she had heard that Su Jue was arrogant, with a playful nature, a rogue.

But now that she saw him, dressed in white, with his black hair tied high, handsome and serene, his demeanor was transcendent and refined.

His eyes were clear and bright, peaceful and gentle.

He was still a graceful and elegant young man.

"Senior Sister An Ke?"

Su Jue asked tentatively.

Before coming, his Master had told him that the Fourth Elder's direct disciple was named An Ke, and he should address her as Senior Sister.

"It's me."

Seeing Su Jue's handsome face, An Ke's inner anxiety eased a bit.

This junior brother didn't seem as bad as the rumors suggested.

"Hello, Senior Sister, just call me Su Jue."

Su Jue extended his hand politely.

"Hello, I'm An Ke."

An Ke hesitated for a moment before shaking his hand.

Her small hand was cool and smooth, feeling very nice.

However, Su Jue was not a presumptuous person; after a brief touch, he withdrew with a smile.

"This Senior Sister's strength is not to be underestimated."

Su Jue probed An Ke's strength and found that this seemingly soft and pure girl had a power he couldn't fathom.

Clearly, she was above the Golden Elixir stage, but he didn't know her exact level.

It made sense, as the Prodigy Tournament was a crucial way for the sect to bring in new blood, so they wouldn't send someone simple.

This seemingly naive girl was not to be underestimated.

"Let's set off, Junior Brother Su Jue."

Seeing Su Jue's calm demeanor, An Ke breathed a sigh of relief.

Luckily, he wasn't the type to be frivolous with words or actions.

Even if Su Jue was a disciple of the Sect Master, she wouldn't travel with him if he were.

"Alright."

Seeing no reason to delay, Su Jue raised his hand to the sky.

A crane's cry echoed from above.

A pure white crane with gleaming feathers burst from the clouds, landing gracefully in front of them.

Yun Zhonghe nuzzled Su Jue's hand, elegant and gentle.

Seeing Su Jue's gentle actions, An Ke's eyes flickered slightly.

After stroking Yun Zhonghe's head, Su Jue leaped onto its back.

This was the mount his Master had given him years ago, and he shared a deep bond with Yun Zhonghe.

Then, Su Jue turned to An Ke on the ground: "Senior Sister An Ke, care to join me?"

"Ah? Thank you, Junior Brother Su Jue, but I'll pass. I can use sword flight."

An Ke was a bit embarrassed and also worried that Su Jue might take advantage of her on the way.

Yun Zhonghe was still young and not very large; it could fit one person comfortably, two would be a bit cramped.

After all, Su Jue's reputation in the Sword Sect wasn't great, with all sorts of bad names attached to him.

Su Jue didn't think much of it; seeing An Ke decline, he nodded.

An Ke's strength was undeniable; though the journey was long, she could likely manage with sword flight.

"In that case, I'll go ahead."

Su Jue patted Yun Zhonghe, who let out a long cry, flapped its massive wings, and soared into the sky, disappearing in an instant.

Watching Su Jue vanish into the clouds, An Ke felt that this junior brother wasn't as bad as the rumors suggested.

Perhaps there was some misunderstanding?

His gaze held no frivolity or teasing, just calm and purity.

Surrounded by top beauties daily, Su Jue had developed some immunity to them.

Though An Ke was indeed extremely beautiful, she wasn't enough to make Su Jue lose his composure.

Shaking her head, An Ke decided not to dwell on it. She tapped her toe, stepping onto her sword, and followed closely.

After all, they would be traveling together for the next few days, giving her plenty of time to see if this junior brother was as detestable as rumored.

Above the clouds.

Su Jue sat on Yun Zhonghe, squinting his eyes as he settled in.

Even though the sky was Yun Zhonghe's domain, and its speed was swift, it would still take two days to reach Chaoge City.

Thinking back, the last time he returned to Chaoge City was three years ago.

Now, three years had passed without visiting home, and he wondered how his parents were doing.

Though Su Jue was a transmigrator, the feelings he developed in those years at home were real, and he remembered his parents' kindness well.

Besides visiting home, the most important task at the Prodigy Tournament was to find a reincarnated Empress as a disciple for his Master, making her his junior sister.

The term "reincarnated Empress" left Su Jue a bit puzzled, but he assumed she would shine at the Prodigy Tournament.

At that time, he would probe with words to find out who the reincarnated Empress was.

Of course, this was just a plan.

If he alone knew the reincarnated Empress's identity, it would be fine.

But if everyone knew, it might cause a frenzy, and he would lose any advantage.

He needed to act low-key and observe quietly.

This would really test his discernment.

"System, any hints or anything?"

Su Jue asked.

[No, Host.]

Su Jue lay back on Yun Zhonghe, gazing at the blue sky. With no hints, he decided to let things unfold naturally.

If he didn't find her, he would just miss out on the reward, but visiting home wouldn't be a wasted trip to Chaoge City.

Suddenly, he noticed An Ke flying with her sword nearby.

Her clothes fluttered, as beautiful as a heavenly immortal.

"Isn't it tiring?"

Su Jue shook his head.

Sword flight looked impressive, but it consumed spiritual power every second.

Then, Su Jue closed his eyes, preparing to take a nap.

Yun Zhonghe's back had a formation he set up, shielding him from the wind and clouds, making it extremely comfortable.

It was certainly better than sword flight.

An Ke also noticed Su Jue, seeing him lying peacefully on Yun Zhonghe's back, asleep, she twitched her mouth.

This junior brother, was he here on business or a vacation?
