Chapter 17 – You are responsible!

Su Jue looked at the glass of fine wine in front of him and downed it in one gulp without hesitation.

The bitter wine burned his throat, its spiciness overwhelming.

He had long known that the wine-making techniques in this world were not advanced, having tasted some at the Sword Sect before.

Perhaps due to the cultivation practices, the wine in this world was especially spicy.

It was not something an ordinary person could handle, lacking the smooth richness of the fine wines from his previous life.

"Junior Brother, you have quite the tolerance."

An Ke, seeing Su Jue's boldness, immediately gave him a thumbs up.

She had tried this wine before, and it had been too much for her, knocking her out after just one glass.

"It's alright, aside from being a bit harsh on the throat, there's nothing else to it. Why aren't you drinking, Senior Sister?"

Su Jue shook his head. It was all about the kick, with no substance. It seemed he would have to brew some good wine himself in the future.

"I think I'll pass."

An Ke was somewhat resistant to this so-called fine wine.

"Well, if girls can't drink it, then don't."

Su Jue understood, as even he found the taste stimulating, let alone his delicate Senior Sister.

"Who says I can't drink?"

Unexpectedly, as soon as Su Jue finished speaking, An Ke, feeling a bit embarrassed, pouted her lips.

"Uh, didn't you just say that, Senior Sister?"

Su Jue spread his hands innocently.

"I... I was just being modest. I can handle my liquor."

An Ke patted her ample chest, huffing.

"Really?"

Su Jue glanced at the untouched glass of wine, his meaning clear.

"Of course."

An Ke felt that her junior brother was underestimating her. As a senior sister, how could she lose face in front of her junior brother?

Even though she really disliked the wine, she didn't mind proving herself for the sake of her dignity.

Su Jue shook his head with a smile, seeing An Ke's competitive spirit. He kindly reminded her, "Maybe you shouldn't drink it, Senior Sister."

"I'll drink it!"

An Ke looked at the wine in her hand, hesitated for a moment, then imitated Su Jue and downed it in one go.

"Senior Sister?"

Su Jue's mouth twitched. Was she really that fierce?

"Ugh!"

The strong liquor burned her throat, and An Ke's expression froze, her beautiful eyes widening.

The next second.

"Hiss, ha~"

Feeling the burning sensation in her throat, An Ke opened her small mouth, fanning herself frantically with her hand.

"Quick, eat some fruit."

Su Jue hurriedly peeled a banana for An Ke.

An Ke quickly stuffed the banana into her mouth, her cheeks puffed adorably.

"Are you feeling better, Senior Sister?"

Su Jue smiled helplessly and asked.

"Ha... a bit better."

An Ke stuck out her small pink tongue, feeling much better after eating a banana.

But her speech was a bit slurred.

Her tongue was so numb from the spiciness that she couldn't speak properly.

Su Jue shook his head with a smile, "Senior Sister, if you can't drink, don't force it next time. It's just a glass of wine, it doesn't prove anything."

"Hic~"

An Ke hiccuped and said softly, "But if I don't drink, won't you look down on me?"

Su Jue replied earnestly, "How could I? Senior Sister is already amazing in my eyes."

"Really? Junior Brother."

An Ke lightly bit her lips, her eyes sparkling, her skin as smooth as jade, her face gradually turning a beautiful shade of red.

It added a touch of allure to An Ke, who was already stunningly beautiful.

Great, the alcohol was kicking in. She was definitely drunk.

Su Jue immediately regretted letting An Ke drink.

Hopefully, she wouldn't start acting crazy; he was helpless when it came to women.

"Why aren't you talking, Junior Brother?"

An Ke's beautiful eyes were misty, her expression dazed.

Feeling her head spinning slightly, a primal impulse was about to take over her mind.

She hadn't realized she was already drunk.

Su Jue replied honestly, "Senior Sister, reaching the mid-Golden Elixir stage at your age is already exceptional."

"In the entire Central Continent, you're among the top talents, a goal for your junior brother to aspire to."

"Hehe, am I really that amazing?"

An Ke giggled foolishly, her smile as radiant as a flower.

"Senior Sister, you're drunk."

Su Jue said helplessly.

An Ke pouted, "I'm not drunk, what's a little wine?"

"......"

Su Jue rubbed his temples, maybe he should find a hotel to take her back to. This banquet didn't seem that interesting anyway.

"Senior Sister, why don't we leave?"

Su Jue suggested.

"Where to?"

An Ke tilted her head, her dimples and the glow of the sunset dancing together.

"Let's find a hotel to rest. There's not much to do here," Su Jue said.

An Ke shook her head coquettishly, "No, I want to watch painting."

"Senior Sister is interested in painting?"

Su Jue asked curiously.

People tend to speak the truth when drunk, so if she mentioned it in this state, there might be a story behind it.

"Yes, I loved painting when I was young."

"But my family discovered my talent for cultivation and didn't let me waste time on painting, so I kept this hobby buried in my heart."

An Ke's rosy face looked a bit dejected, her eyes misty, as if she was about to cry.

Su Jue quickly comforted her, "It's okay, now that you're out here, you can do what you want."

"You'll be with me, right?"

An Ke moved closer to Su Jue, her big eyes blinking.

"How could I refuse?"

Su Jue smiled slightly at An Ke's enchanting face.

He was worried that if he left, some bad people might take advantage of this moment to do something to his senior sister.

"Yay!"

An Ke beamed with joy, no longer showing any signs of tears.

Su Jue suddenly felt he had been tricked. Was she really drunk, Senior Sister?

Indeed, no matter when, women were the best at deceiving and acting.

Especially beautiful women.

"Junior Brother, I find you quite strange."

An Ke propped her chin on her hand, her misty eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Alcohol emboldens people, and the usually reserved and shy An Ke suddenly became talkative.

"Strange? How am I strange?"

It was the first time Su Jue had heard such a description.

"It's just that your reputation in the Sword Sect is quite bad, but spending time with you, I find you really gentle and considerate."

An Ke suddenly realized she might have spoken too bluntly and quickly explained, "Junior Brother, don't take it to heart, it's not that bad."

Not that bad, my foot.

Su Jue's mouth twitched, but thinking about the foolish things he did to fit the storyline those days, it wasn't surprising his reputation was bad.

Now he didn't need to fit any storyline; in this world, he was the protagonist, so everything was back on track.

"Why aren't you talking, Junior Brother? I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."

An Ke lowered her head, fiddling with her clothes, feeling guilty.

"I'm not angry, Senior Sister, you don't need to apologize. I was just thinking about the mistakes I've made."

Looking at the adorable An Ke, Su Jue couldn't help but gently pinch her cheek, which was smooth and tender, feeling great.

"Ah."

An Ke's already rosy face turned even redder, staring blankly at Su Jue's hand.

"Sorry, Senior Sister, you were just too cute, I couldn't resist."

Su Jue was stunned, not expecting himself to make such a move. It was indeed abrupt, and he quickly apologized.

An Ke snapped back to reality, feeling extremely shy, suddenly much more alert.

Her jade finger pointed at Su Jue, trembling slightly, the blush spreading to her snow-white neck.

"You, you, you, you have to take responsibility!"
