Chapter 8 – Dear Sister, Brother's Here to Play!

Dad was utterly shocked and confused at this moment.

He was the "Dad" of the Warm Home, reigning supreme in this dungeon for nearly a year.

Every player who disturbed his work was invariably torn to shreds by him.

He had seen all kinds of reactions: those who screamed and ran, those who knelt and begged for mercy, those who tried to resist, and those who feigned madness or stupidity...

But he had never seen anything like this.

This young man in a gray robe kicked the door open, politely said, "Sorry, I'm in a hurry, can you cooperate?" and then pulled out four D-Class Anomalous Tools, using a combo to beat him into this state.

What was this?

A professional demolition team?

If he remembered correctly, this dungeon was supposed to be for newcomers only, right?

Are all the newcomers this fierce nowadays?

"Who... who are you?" Dad squeezed out the words through clenched teeth, his voice weak but filled with unwillingness.

He needed an answer, even if he was going to die, he wanted to die knowing why.

Lin Feng squatted in front of him, tilted his head, seemingly pondering the question seriously.

"Who am I?"

He repeated, then flashed a standard professional smile:

"According to the terms here, I should be... a player?"

A player?

Dad was even more bewildered.

Can a player be this fierce?

Can a player have four D-Class Anomalous Tools?

This was clearly someone sent by a major force to make trouble!

[Bullet screen: Player? He said he's a player?]

[Bullet screen: This isn't a player, this is clearly a dungeon demolition team.]

[Bullet screen: Warm Home: What did I do to deserve this?]

[Bullet screen: Suggest the Dungeon Rating Committee re-evaluate the difficulty of Warm Home, this is clearly S-Class dungeon treatment.]

[Bullet screen: Look at Dad's expression, he's about to cry.]

[Bullet screen: Specter crying.jpg]

Lin Feng didn't waste any more words; time is performance.

He skillfully pulled out the Soul Hook Chain and began binding.

Still using the "Binding Spirit Knot," although Dad was in a weakened state, he was still a Late-Stage Wild Ghost at his core, and it wouldn't be good if he suddenly lashed out.

The professionalism of a Soul-Reaper is to never underestimate the enemy.

"What... what are you going to do?" Dad watched the pitch-black chain wrap around him, a sense of foreboding rising in his heart.

"Don't worry, just moving you to a new place."

Lin Feng explained as he bound him, his tone relaxed:

"The environment might not be as good as here, but your wife is there alone, and I'm afraid she'll be lonely, so you can go keep her company!"

He rambled on, but his hands didn't slow down, quickly finishing the binding, checking the firmness, and nodding in satisfaction.

Then, he took out the Soul Capturing Bag.

"Come on, get in, have a good chat with your wife inside."

The bag's opening aimed, suction emitted.

"No—!!"

Dad let out a final unwilling roar, turning into black smoke and being sucked into the bag.

Lin Feng skillfully tied the red string, shaking the bag.

Hmm, a bit heavy.

A Mid-Stage Wild Ghost and a Late-Stage Wild Ghost, combined, at least seventy Performance Points.

This month's target was overachieved!

He happily hung the Soul Capturing Bag back on his waist, feeling his back straighten a bit more.

Three years, three years since joining the Underworld, and for the first time, he experienced what it felt like to "overachieve a task."

It felt amazing!

Lin Feng turned and walked out of the study room, arriving at the staircase, looking up at the second floor.

The dim staircase stretched upward, the corner shrouded in darkness, only the faint outline of the second-floor hallway's floor visible.

The air carried a faint trace of Yin Energy, lighter than the first floor but more elusive.

"There's still a sister..."

Lin Feng stroked his chin, his eyes gleaming:

"Since I'm here, might as well take them all out."

"A family should be together."

[Bullet screen: ???]

[Bullet screen: Take them all out? Together?]

[Bullet screen: Sister, run! There's a specter trafficker coming for you!]

[Bullet screen: Who's the real specter here? This Black Robe Brother looks scarier than the specter!]

[Bullet screen: Warm Home's massacre today, the culprit is actually a player.]

[Bullet screen: Sister: I'm terrified right now.]

[Bullet screen: Suggest sister carry the house and run overnight.]

The live stream exploded.

The viewer count shot up from a few hundred at the start to over three thousand, and it kept climbing.

"Warm Home sees a four-Anomalous Tool big shot."

"Player counter-kills specter."

"Dungeon demolition team strikes."

Titles like these were spreading wildly on the streaming platform.

Many people were called by friends to watch the spectacle.

"Come quick! A newcomer is turning the tables at Warm Home!"

"Really? Isn't Warm Home a newcomer graveyard?"

"See for yourself! Mom and Dad have been dealt with, and now he's going for the sister!"

"Damn, that fierce?"

"Wait, what's he wearing?"

"Don't know, but it looks pretty professional..."

Lin Feng naturally didn't know he was gaining some fame on the streaming platform.

His mind was full of Performance Points.

"Sister should be an Early-Stage or Mid-Stage Wild Ghost... worth about twenty Performance Points."

"That adds up to ninety points, plus the task reward of a hundred Merit..."

He calculated as he stepped onto the stairs.

The wooden stairs creaked underfoot, the sound particularly jarring in the silent house.

The second floor was darker than the first.

There were two doors on each side of the hallway, three of them tightly shut, only the innermost door slightly ajar, a faint pink glow seeping through the crack.

That was the typical lighting effect of a girl's room.

Lin Feng stopped in front of the door.

He didn't push the door open immediately but pressed his ear against it, listening intently.

It was very quiet inside.

Extremely quiet.

No breathing, no footsteps, not even a detectable fluctuation of Yin Energy.

"Hiding?"

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow.

According to the rules, the sister's doll couldn't be dirtied, or she'd get angry.

And an angry sister would become very dangerous.

But did Lin Feng care?

Clearly not.

He had eaten Mom's food, kicked Dad's door, would he care about dirtying a doll?

"My dear sister..."

Lin Feng's lips curled into a sinister smile, his voice deliberately low, carrying a certain eerie gentleness:

"Where are you?"

"Brother's here to play with you."

The words from his mouth, paired with his pale face and ghostly blue eyes, were more terrifying than the specter itself.

[Bullet screen: Damn! That tone!]

[Bullet screen: Who's the real specter here!]

[Bullet screen: Sister: Don't come any closer!]

[Bullet screen: This Black Robe Brother is definitely a professional, look at that expression, scarier than the specter.]

[Bullet screen: Suggest sister call the police, though they might not be able to help.]

[Bullet screen: Should Warm Home consider hiring him as an NPC? Definitely more dedicated than the current specter.]

Lin Feng waited for three seconds, but there was still no response from inside.

His smile widened.

"Not speaking?"

"Want to play hide and seek with brother?"

"Then brother's coming to find you."

With that, he stepped back two paces, lifted his foot—

"Bang!!!"

With a sound identical to when he kicked the study room door, the door to the second-floor girl's room was kicked flying!

The door spun in the air, crashing heavily onto the pink carpet inside, kicking up a cloud of dust.
