Chapter 8 – Stroke of Divine Inspiration

After Hua Yunfeng and Gu Qingshuang left, Gu Yiyi seemed a bit upset.

"Qin Yi, why did you speak to Senior Brother Hua like that? He seemed unhappy," Gu Yiyi said worriedly.

Although Gu Yiyi was a girl, her mindset was akin to that of a simp in modern times.

If he's unhappy, so be it. It's not like I'm the one who's unhappy!

Qin Yi felt the need to correct her perspective and said, "Yiyi, for Master's sake, I had to speak that way. Even if Hua Yunfeng wanted to kill me, I would still say it."

Gu Yiyi was puzzled, her innocent face showing confusion. "For my father? Why for my father?"

Qin Yi explained, "Think about it. Master accepted me as a disciple, which means he approves of my character and background. If Master didn't question it, but Hua Yunfeng did, isn't that like slapping Master in the face? It's fine if he targets me, but Master has been a benefactor to me, so how could I let him disrespect Master?"

Normally, Hua Yunfeng probably didn't mean it that way.

Hua Yunfeng was simply jealous, which led to some animosity.

But Qin Yi magnified the issue, deliberately involving Master's honor, making it seem reasonable.

Gu Yiyi suddenly understood, realizing Qin Yi's deep respect for her father.

"But Senior Brother Hua probably didn't mean it that way..." she tried to explain for Hua Yunfeng.

"You never truly know someone's heart. Who can say? But if anyone questions Master in front of me, I won't allow it."

At this point, he quickly changed the subject.

Such matters weren't suitable for deep discussion; closing the gap between them was the priority.

"Yiyi, shall we continue practicing swordplay?"

"Practice swordplay..."

Gu Yiyi had been quite enthusiastic earlier, but after Hua Yunfeng's interruption, her interest waned.

Although she felt there was nothing wrong with practicing with Qin Yi, Senior Brother Hua seemed unhappy earlier.

Moreover, Senior Brother Hua's words implied he didn't want her practicing with Qin Yi.

'If Senior Brother Hua knew I was still practicing with Qin Yi, he'd surely be disappointed, right?'

She thought to herself.

After all, she had secretly admired Hua Yunfeng for so long, and Qin Yi was just someone she'd met less than a day ago.

In her heart, the importance of the two was clear.

However, just as she was about to find an excuse to politely decline, Qin Yi approached from behind and gently wrapped his arm around her soft waist.

Gu Yiyi instinctively wanted to refuse, but in the next second, that special feeling of joy returned.

"Qin Yi... I... I want to rest."

Though the feeling made her happy, she chose to let go for the sake of her secret crush.

But how could Qin Yi let her leave now?

If he let her go this time, it would be hard to find another opportunity like this.

So, he immediately began teaching Gu Yiyi the second move, "Stroke of Divine Inspiration"!

Guiding her hand by hand, he drew a 360-degree arc with the sword, and a rotating sword formation appeared on the ground.

If an enemy touched the outer edge of the sword circle, it would reduce their physical defense by 100 points.

In the context of a fantasy world, this reduction could likely cut through an opponent's armor, clothing, and Protective Qi Aura.

When the sword circle formed, the sword light in the center spun unpredictably.

Gu Yiyi forgot her previous worries and became happy again. "It's amazing, but it's a pity the sword formation's range isn't wide."

Large sword formations usually cover a vast area, and when the Sword Qi erupts, it's like a torrential downpour.

But the sword formation Qin Yi taught her was centered on herself, with a diameter of only three meters.

"Qin Yi, why is this move called 'Stroke of Divine Inspiration'?"

"Well, it's probably because the Sword Qi acts as a brush, drawing the sword formation, and it forms instantly, like a stroke of divine inspiration."

"Oh, I see."

The sword formation only lasted for three seconds before disappearing.

Unlike the first move's dash, the silver moon sword light was very noticeable, and its lethality was impressive.

The second move, however, involved drawing a circle in place, and it didn't seem very powerful.

So, Gu Yiyi questioned, "This move looks amazing, but it doesn't seem very powerful."

Are you kidding? Not powerful?

Whether you could instantly defeat someone depended on whether the outer edge of the sword circle could hit them.

So, if this second skill was used carelessly, it would be all show and no substance. But if used accurately, it was a divine skill.

Qin Yi planned to demonstrate it to her, immediately targeting a large tree, intending to use the outer edge of the sword circle to hit it.

With his current cultivation realm, once he released this second skill, the outer Sword Qi should be able to cut down the tree.

"Yiyi, whether this move is strong or not, I'll show you directly, and you'll see."

"Okay." Gu Yiyi's eyes sparkled with anticipation as she watched.

Qin Yi smiled and approached the tree in front of her, taking a deep breath and drawing a 360-degree arc with his sword.

The "Stroke of Divine Inspiration" formed instantly, with Sword Qi reverberating in the center.

He turned to look, but the tree hadn't fallen.

Upon closer inspection, the sword circle of the "Stroke of Divine Inspiration" was still two fingers' width away from the tree.

Tsk, he missed.

This second skill was indeed not easy to execute.

Seeing this, Gu Yiyi giggled, "Qin Yi, what were you planning to show me?"

Qin Yi felt a bit embarrassed and was about to try again, moving a bit closer.

But Gu Yiyi said, "To test its power, why not just try it on someone directly?"

Without waiting for Qin Yi's agreement, she flew towards the sword circle.

Qin Yi hurriedly shouted to stop her, "Don't come over!"

He wasn't sure how powerful the "Stroke of Divine Inspiration" was, and if it accidentally hurt the little fairy, it would be a sin.

However, his warning came too late.

Determined, Gu Yiyi flew in like an ethereal fairy, landing precisely on the outer edge of the sword circle.

In that instant, Qin Yi saw countless colorful clothing fragments flying in the air.

Gu Yiyi was startled, completely frozen, and the next second, her face turned bright red as she screamed, "Ah~~~"
