Chapter 15 – Monsters of the Foundation Stage Emerge! No Retreat Left!

This type of Gale Wolf is a monster beast raised by the Boundless Hall, and the purpose of raising these wolves here is to collect their fangs.

Although these wolves don't have high cultivation, their fangs are excellent materials for crafting.

To prevent these wolves from being devoured by other monsters, there aren't any powerful beasts around here. Yet, something unknown has attacked them.

At this moment, Su Miaoqing forced herself to endure the nausea, pinching her nose as she walked over.

Xiao Yifeng frowned and said to Su Miaoqing, "Senior Sister, there might be a monster beast here, or perhaps another beast has crossed into this territory.

This Gale Wolf, which is around the fifth level of Qi Refining, was killed in one strike. It must not be the work of an ordinary fierce beast. We should hurry back and report to the senior brothers."

Hearing this, Su Miaoqing's eyes lit up, and she snorted coldly, "What are you afraid of? Aren't I here? I want to see which monster beast dares to eat the wolves raised by our Boundless Hall. Watch me deal with it."

Seeing her eager expression, Xiao Yifeng couldn't help but feel a headache, knowing she was excited.

Before he could persuade her otherwise, Su Miaoqing tossed Xiaobai to the ground, instructing it to track the scent of the monster.

Xiaobai reluctantly sniffed around and quickly darted into the forest.

The two followed Xiaobai, tracing the path of crushed grass and branches.

Soon, they found two or three more dead wolves on the ground, all killed in one strike, with their demon cores stolen.

However, the precious wolf fangs were left untouched. Xiao Yifeng became increasingly convinced that this was the work of a monster beast.

Xiao Yifeng cautiously searched ahead, while turning back to say to Su Miaoqing, "Senior Sister, there seems to be a powerful monster beast here, devouring many wolf internal cores."

"I see all of them were killed in one strike, their strength is not to be underestimated. We should report this to the senior brothers and sisters and let them handle it."

Su Miaoqing snorted coldly, "Coward, what are you afraid of? A monster beast appeared here. No matter how high its cultivation, how high can it go?"

"We can't let it hunt our Gale Wolves like this. With me here, don't be afraid."

Xiao Yifeng thought carefully and agreed, as he hadn't heard of any powerful monster beasts appearing in the past.

So he let her go, but with increased caution in his heart.

Following Xiaobai, they traced the scent left by the monster and found several more wolf corpses.

These monster beast corpses were increasingly fresh, indicating they were getting closer to the monster.

Suddenly, a noise came from ahead, and Xiaobai leapt forward, followed by a furious roar.

Xiao Yifeng and Su Miaoqing exchanged a glance, and Su Miaoqing retrieved a Low-Grade Immortal Sword from her Storage Ring.

Worried about Xiaobai, they hurriedly chased after it.

They saw a wolf lying on the ground ahead, covered in blood, its abdomen split open and demon core taken, lying there barely alive.

Xiaobai revealed its true form, a Snow Lion as tall as a person, with its fur bristling, cautiously growling towards the clearing ahead.

But there was no sign of any other monster beast.

Xiao Yifeng was puzzled and was about to speak to Su Miaoqing when she suddenly shouted, "Watch out, Xiaofeng!"

At the same time, she quickly formed an incantation, sending the Immortal Sword flying towards Xiao Yifeng's back.

The moment Su Miaoqing warned him, Xiao Yifeng sensed something was wrong and rolled forward.

In the previously empty space ahead, a giant tail suddenly appeared, striking towards Xiao Yifeng.

Xiao Yifeng narrowly dodged the attack by rolling, the monster beast's tail hitting the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Then, under their watchful eyes, it vanished again.

Before they could catch their breath, they heard Xiaobai's painful howl as it was flung away, rolling a few times before lying still, its fate unknown.

"Xiaobai!"

Su Miaoqing called out anxiously, wanting to rush over, but was held back by Xiao Yifeng on the ground.

She realized the urgency of the situation and knew she couldn't act rashly.

She formed an incantation, sending the Immortal Sword into the air, creating several sword shadows that circled around herself and Xiao Yifeng, protecting them.

The two cautiously watched their surroundings.

Xiao Yifeng stood up from the ground, saying in a deep voice, "Senior Sister, be careful, this monster beast seems to have the ability to become invisible."

Su Miaoqing nodded without turning her head, carefully scanning the area.

Suddenly, a gaping maw appeared in mid-air ahead, and before Xiao Yifeng and Su Miaoqing could react.

A foul-smelling, dense dark green orb of light formed in the giant mouth, then shot towards them.

Though startled, Su Miaoqing remained calm, pointing her finger to send several light swords slashing at the green orb.

Xiao Yifeng shouted, "No!" but it was too late.

The light swords struck the green orb, causing it to explode, enveloping them in a thick poisonous gas.

The gas was pervasive, and they both felt dizzy and lightheaded.

Suddenly, a giant serpent seemed to appear, its gaping maw lunging at them.

Startled, Xiao Yifeng pushed Su Miaoqing away with force, leaping in the opposite direction, both narrowly escaping the attack.

They finally saw a massive serpent coiled in the clearing, its flesh-colored body covered in scales reflecting a myriad of colors.

It seemed that the scales affected the light's refraction, rendering them invisible to the two.

If they had reached Foundation Establishment, with their spiritual sense extending outward, they wouldn't have been so passive.

The serpent's sinister triangular eyes fixed on them, seemingly identifying Su Miaoqing as the greatest threat.

The serpent no longer concealed its form, lunging at Su Miaoqing with its gaping maw.

Su Miaoqing, dizzy from the poison, saw the serpent lunging at her in a daze.

She formed an incantation, and with a clang, the Immortal Sword split into several, wildly slashing around the serpent.

This was the Heaven-Inquiry Sect's Illusionary Light Splitting Sword Incantation.

The serpent, in pain, coiled up to defend itself, its scales flashing with firelight, the sharp Immortal Swords only leaving shallow cuts.

This was partly due to Su Miaoqing's insufficient power, and also because the serpent was an extraordinary creature, its scales frighteningly thick.

Seeing the Illusionary Light Splitting Sword was ineffective, Su Miaoqing changed her incantation, shouting, "Fall! Lightning Prison Sword Array!"

Several light swords planted themselves in the ground at different positions, creating arcs of lightning that wrapped around the serpent in layers.

The electric light bound the serpent tightly, crackling with thunder.

Seeing the sword array trap the serpent, Su Miaoqing let out a long breath.

She turned to Xiao Yifeng with a smile, "Xiaofeng, see how powerful I am?"

But she saw Xiao Yifeng's expression was off, his face serious as he looked behind her, whispering, "Be careful."

Puzzled, she turned back, only to see the serpent roar skyward, its body suddenly expanding, letting out an ear-piercing roar, breaking free from the electric net.

Its voice carried a powerful impact, causing Xiao Yifeng to spit out a mouthful of blood, his heart sinking.

This serpent was actually a Foundation Establishment level monster beast. How could it be?

In this back mountain, how could there be a Foundation Establishment level monster beast?

But he had no time to think, continuously forming incantations, casting various elemental spells, fireballs, ice spikes, and water bullets attacking the monster.

But the effects were minimal, directly ignored by the monster.

The monster engaged in a fierce battle with Su Miaoqing, its massive tail wielding immense force, occasionally spewing poison or attempting to bite.

Su Miaoqing parried with her Immortal Sword, using her agility to maneuver around the monster.

But after the serpent's body enlarged, its skin became tough and thick.

Su Miaoqing's sword attacks barely affected it, only angering it further.

Seeing the prolonged battle, the monster opened its maw again, spitting out a poison orb.

Having suffered once, Su Miaoqing held her breath, focusing on the serpent, ready to dodge.

Unexpectedly, a cunning glint flashed in the serpent's eyes, and in that instant of eye contact, Su Miaoqing felt dizzy and disoriented.

The serpent could use its gaze to launch an illusion attack, triggering the poison already within her.

Su Miaoqing's heart cried out in alarm, and sure enough, a massive tail came crashing down on her.

She struggled to break free, holding her sword to block the attack.

She was sent flying, her Immortal Sword knocked away, supporting herself with one hand, coughing up blood.

The monster, having succeeded, rushed towards Su Miaoqing's position, its maw wide open, seemingly ready to swallow her whole.

Su Miaoqing felt deep regret, wondering if this was the end for her.

Would she die in the mouth of this monster, dragging Xiaofeng down with her?

But the monster's poison was too potent, leaving her powerless to fight.

The serpent's maw was almost upon her, and she could already smell its foul breath.

Unwillingly, Su Miaoqing widened her beautiful eyes, but the serpent's body suddenly halted, as Xiao Yifeng had grabbed its massive tail from behind.

Xiao Yifeng was dragged forward by the serpent, his feet digging into the ground, leaving a deep trail.
