Chapter 8 – What you said is meaningful... is this it?

"Che! We finally got out of school early today, can't we relax at the internet café for a bit?"

"Bro! You're my real bro!"

"Say something, will you!"

Chen Yunsong was on the verge of tears. He thought Jiang Che was just joking; after all, his friend wasn't exactly the studious type. His good grades were purely because he was quick-witted. But to his surprise, on this rare early dismissal, Jiang Che actually dragged him to study.

"A slow bird has to start flying early. If you're both slow and lazy, how will you ever succeed?" Jiang Che's words were merciless.

Chen Yunsong scratched his head...

Jiang Che's learning speed was astonishingly fast, so fast it was absurd. He quickly mastered the entire English textbook. Suddenly, he felt like going out to find a foreigner to see if his English was good enough for seamless communication.

He remembered his past life.

Because he often did business with Russians, Jiang Che had specifically learned Russian for a few days.

Thinking he could exchange a few words with Russians, he greeted a white lady at a party in Russian.

The result? Her only response was a look of bewilderment, which was a huge blow to him, and he gave up on the spot.

Later, Jiang Che found out that the lady was, damn it, French...

"Jiang Che, I can't study anymore!"

After barely managing to study for an hour, with Jiang Che occasionally sharing his insights, Chen Yunsong's brain was nearing shutdown. He pushed the book away and collapsed onto the table.

Jiang Che knew he had reached his limit, so he packed the books into his bag:

"Let's go, I'll take you to do something meaningful."

Chen Yunsong perked up immediately: "Something meaningful? What is it?"

Jiang Che slung his backpack over his shoulder: "Follow me and you'll find out!"

"Damn it, always keeping secrets!"

Chen Yunsong cursed but quickly grabbed his backpack and followed Jiang Che.

"Che, are we going to the internet café? I've watched a lot of Yasuo tutorials, I can definitely get revenge this time... Or are we going to eat? There's nothing good to eat around here, don't tell me we're going for beef noodles... Damn, you wouldn't want to take me... Che, this is serious business... Do you have enough money? I've got twenty bucks on me!"

Jiang Che was speechless.

Serious business and you're offering money?

And what good is twenty bucks...

They soon arrived at a place, and Chen Yunsong looked up to see it was a farmer's market. He scratched his head: "A market? There's... that kind of thing here? That's really unexpected! No wonder they say the most dangerous place is the safest place. If you hadn't brought me here, I wouldn't have thought of it... But Che, how did you know?"

Jiang Che couldn't be bothered to respond.

Once inside the market, Chen Yunsong started to feel uneasy: "Jiang Che, I suddenly have a strong sense of unease... Maybe you should go back. If we get caught, I don't mind being embarrassed, getting a beating from my dad, but for you, it would mean no chance with Su Rongyin!"

Jiang Che ignored him and walked to a tea stall, shouting: "Boss, two pounds of Tieguanyin! Just a bit better than the cheapest!"

He then turned to Chen Yunsong: "I never had a chance with Su Rongyin anyway, but I'm just buying some tea, why are you talking so much?"

Chen Yunsong was stunned.

Just buying tea?

It wasn't until the boss handed over the packaged tea, and Jiang Che paid and turned to leave, that Chen Yunsong caught on and hurried after him: "Just buying tea? Really just buying tea? This is the meaningful thing you mentioned? Tell me, what's so meaningful about buying tea?"

He thought "buying two pounds of tea" was some kind of code!

Jiang Che gave a mysterious smile: "You'll find out tomorrow what's meaningful! Boss, two pounds of milk powder, please..."

Leaving the market.

Chen Yunsong carried several plastic bags, looking utterly dejected.

Jiang Che opened a bottle of Red Bull and drank more than half of it.

With 50 bucks, he bought 2 pounds of tea, 2 pounds of milk powder, half a pound of pearls, 50 plastic cups, a pack of straws, and a bottle of Red Bull, spending it all down to the last cent.

Before starting his business, Jiang Che had done all sorts of jobs, even worked at a milk tea shop. At that time, a particular pearl milk tea was incredibly popular, with top-notch taste and flavor.

Now, milk tea shops were just starting to emerge, but in the future, they would dominate all major milk tea brands. In the current era where milk tea was still limited to "you love me, I love you," it was definitely a game-changer!

Back home, the aroma of food filled the air.

Chen Feirong had just finished cooking and, seeing Jiang Che return just in time, rolled her eyes: "Brat, are you part dog? You never come home unless you smell food? Look at the time!"

"I was studying at school!" Jiang Che chuckled.

Chen Feirong wanted to question him, but then thought that if he really was studying, her words might discourage him. With the college entrance exam approaching, she decided to hold back.

But looking at Jiang Che's demeanor, she couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed.

At least he was behaving when he went out... Otherwise, they wouldn't know how much more they'd have to worry!

What she didn't know was that Jiang Che was no longer behaving outside...

Previously, Jiang Che wasn't exactly well-behaved; it was a small sense of inferiority inside him that made him reserved and cautious in unfamiliar places or around strangers.

Now, Jiang Che had shed that completely.

What did he have to be inferior about?

After dinner, Jiang Che took out all the past exam papers from the "Three Years of College Entrance Exams, Five Years of Simulations" series and began reviewing.

When learning progresses rapidly.

Studying no longer feels like a burdensome activity.

Before he knew it, it was ten o'clock.

Jiang Che finished a thick stack of papers and went to bed.

At five in the morning, he quietly entered the kitchen and started working.

Brewing tea, cooking pearls, mixing milk powder...

Soon.

Cup after cup of milk tea was made by Jiang Che and sealed in cups...

Su Rongyin loved milk tea.

Jiang Che was certain she would absolutely love this flavor.

But unfortunately.

Jiang Che would no longer deliver it to her.
