Chapter 10 – Mom! Jiang Che is ignoring me!

Jiang Che didn't spare her a glance. He casually took off his shoes, placed them on the shoe rack, grabbed a pair of slippers, and changed into them. Then he spread out Su Rongyin's test papers on the coffee table.

He had been here countless times before, but Gao Yun was always present.

Being alone with Su Rongyin was a first.

However.

Jiang Che's heart felt like a bottle with a lid tightly sealed.

No matter how much you shake it, not a drop of water would spill out.

"Are you listening? If not, I'm leaving."

Seeing that Su Rongyin had no intention of coming over, Jiang Che spoke up.

Su Rongyin pouted her lips but hobbled over. Sitting down was a bit of a struggle, and she reached out her hand, hoping Jiang Che would help her. But he remained indifferent, pretending not to see, which made her angrily withdraw her hand and plop down on the sofa. In her anger, she forgot about the bruise from her fall yesterday and gasped in pain.

Damn Jiang Che!

Stupid Jiang Che!!

The girl's sweet scent filled his nostrils, but Jiang Che pushed away all distracting thoughts and began explaining the problems: "First, here, when the Qin army attacked Wei, the Wei king heard about it and met with Lord Mengchang at night..."

Jiang Che explained very well.

He remembered everything the teacher said, word for word, and after internalizing it, he presented it in a simpler and more understandable way.

Su Rongyin was initially still angry and not fully focused, but even so, she understood and comprehended the material. This drew her in, and she became immersed in Jiang Che's teaching rhythm, earnestly studying.

During a break between papers.

Su Rongyin unconsciously looked up at Jiang Che's profile.

This face was flawless from every angle, something she had never noticed before...

"Is that... Little Che?"

The living room door opened, and a middle-aged woman walked in. She was well-maintained, with features that bore a faint resemblance to Su Rongyin's. It was Su's mother, Xu Jingjie.

Seeing a boy in the house startled her, but upon closer inspection, she realized it was Jiang Che.

"Little Che changed his hairstyle? He's getting more handsome as he grows up!"

"Aunt Xu! Teacher Gu asked me to help Su with some common mistakes from the mock exams!"

Jiang Che said with a smile.

"Thank you so much! I won't disturb you two, carry on!"

Xu Jingjie changed her shoes with a smile and headed to the kitchen, though a hint of doubt flashed across her face.

She felt that not only his hairstyle but Jiang Che himself seemed different from before...

And his way of addressing her daughter...

Su?

"The last paper, let's hurry up." Jiang Che said to Su Rongyin, and without waiting for her response, he started explaining again, leaving her no choice but to focus intently.

Jiang Che spoke quickly this time, and before she could fully digest the information, he stood up and went to the entrance to change his shoes.

Su Rongyin finished taking notes and looked up to find Jiang Che already about to leave.

For some reason, she felt a sudden panic and called out, "Jiang Che, where are you going?"

"Finished teaching, so I'm leaving. It's so late already, or should I stay overnight at your place?" Jiang Che said while putting on his shoes.

"You! Go wherever you want!" Su Rongyin huffed, turning her head away in anger.

Jiang Che put on his shoes and opened the door.

"Jiang Che!"

Just as he was about to leave, Su Rongyin called out to him again.

Jiang Che turned to look at her.

With her head down, Su Rongyin asked, "Can we still be like we were before?"

Jiang Che stepped out without hesitation, the crisp sound of the door closing was his answer to her question.

"Did Little Che leave?" Xu Jingjie heard the door close and came out of the kitchen.

"Yeah." Su Rongyin replied sullenly.

"It's so late, why didn't he stay for dinner?" Xu Jingjie wondered aloud, returning to the kitchen. This time, she left the door open, and amidst the whirring of the exhaust fan, her voice came through:

"Yin, why does it feel like Little Che is a bit different from before?"

At these words.

Su Rongyin, who was sitting on the sofa with her head down, couldn't hold back anymore and burst into tears.

Xu Jingjie was startled and quickly turned off the stove, rushing out: "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

"Mom! Jiang Che is ignoring me!" Su Rongyin looked up at her mother, her face already streaked with tears.
