Chapter 15 – Persevering Su Rongyin; a prize of 50,000 for the First Place, with a written guarantee!

At noon, they continued selling tea with milk. Today was even hotter than yesterday, and nearly two hundred cups of tea with milk were sold out, mostly to people taking the teaching qualification exam, though quite a few passersby bought some as well.

This is what you call a crowd effect.

When people see a long line in front of a store, they instinctively think the product must be good.

While selling today, Jiang Che also had Chen Yunsong set up a cardboard sign with the name "Meet YU" written on it in bold marker.

Chen Yunsong didn't understand why.

Jiang Che just smiled without explaining.

He had his reasons for putting up that sign.

As for why it was named that...

"After deducting costs, we made 1,200 yuan! Damn! This money comes in so fast! In just one hour, we made as much as my parents do on a short trip! Little Che, you're a genius!" Chen Yunsong exclaimed excitedly, hooking his arm around Jiang Che's neck while holding the money.

"This is just the beginning." Jiang Che, taller than Chen Yunsong, was pulled to the side and shrugged off his hand, saying, "Stick with me, and I'll make you a pig on the wind."

"You're the pig." Chen Yunsong didn't understand what he meant, and Jiang Che didn't bother to explain.

In the following days, the number of tea with milk cups they sold increased daily.

By the day before the teaching qualification exam ended, Jiang Che had made nearly ten thousand yuan.

While Jiang Che held onto the large sum, Chen Yunsong only took his 100 yuan wage, still smiling without a hint of feeling shortchanged.

Even if he wasn't paid a cent, he'd be happy to help Jiang Che for free.

But Jiang Che wouldn't really be a miser; it just wasn't the right time yet...

"Jiang Che, breakfast."

As soon as he arrived at the classroom in the morning, Su Rongyin came to Jiang Che's desk and handed him the familiar lunchbox.

After being rejected the first time, Su Rongyin continued to bring him meals every day, which surprised Jiang Che.

He thought she would give up after being rejected once, but she persisted for so many days.

But day after day, the result was the same.

Jiang Che smiled politely, "No need, I've already had breakfast. I always eat before coming to school, so there's no need to trouble Auntie every day."

Every time Su Rongyin brought food, a bunch of young boys' innocent crushes would be shattered.

And every time Jiang Che refused, he would stomp on those broken pieces.

Especially Qin Xiaolong.

Jealousy can be quite ugly...

A quick look at "paw𝑟ead.com" will leave you more fulfilled.

Su Rongyin bit her lip lightly and took back the lunchbox.

But judging by her look, it seemed unlikely she would stop bringing it tomorrow.

Chen Yun walked into the classroom with a stack of papers.

In a few days, it would be the second-to-last mock exam for the entire high school. Before that, all the teachers would give a small test to correct mistakes, so that during the full-grade simulation, students could see improvement and feel more confident and motivated.

The test papers were distributed, and after one class period, other subject teachers followed suit, spending the day in exams.

As the duty student wiped off the countdown numbers for the college entrance exam from the right side of the blackboard and wrote new ones, by tomorrow, there would be exactly 20 days left until the exam!

Jiang Che leisurely rode his scooter back home. Dinner was ready, and as he sat at the dining table looking at the dishes, he felt incredibly happy every time.

This is what home feels like!

In his past life, living alone in a spacious villa, every dinner was a fixed routine of drinking and socializing. Coming home to loosen his tie, that kind of loneliness was indescribable.

With a wide grin, Jiang Che picked up his chopsticks, ready to grab a piece of cola chicken wing, only to have his hand slapped on the back: "Did you wash your hands before eating?"

"..."

No matter how wild the soul, it had to behave in front of Mom.

Jiang Che obediently put down his chopsticks and went to wash his hands.

"Little Che, it's May 16th today, not many days left until the college entrance exam, right?" Old Jiang asked with a light smile.

Chen Feirong continued eating without a word.

The couple had agreed to casually ask while there was still time, and then stop asking to avoid putting pressure on Jiang Che.

Jiang Che didn't pause his chopsticks, mumbling, "Still 20 days, plenty of time."

"How are you feeling about your studies during this time?" Old Jiang continued to ask.

"Nothing much, just eating and drinking as usual." Jiang Che slurped some soup.

Chen Feirong slammed the table. She had agreed with Jiang Liyun to ask in a relaxed tone, but Jiang Che was even more nonchalant, and seeing his indifferent attitude made her furious:

"What do you mean by eating and drinking as usual? How's your review going? Are your grades better or worse than before? What do you think you'll score on the college entrance exam? We don't want to pressure you, and we're asking as considerately as possible, and this is how you make us worry? How did I give birth to such a brat?"

"Hey, hey, hey! We agreed not to pressure the kid! Why are you getting angry..." Jiang Liyun quickly soothed his wife.

Jiang Che put down his chopsticks, chuckled, and went over to massage Chen Feirong's shoulders, saying, "Alright, Mom, calm down. I'm planning to give you a surprise when the results come out."

"A surprise from you? I'd be glad if you don't give me a scare." Chen Feirong swatted Jiang Che's hand away.

"What if it really is a surprise?" Jiang Che raised an eyebrow.

"I'd be surprised if you get into a first-tier university. If you do, I'll give you 2,000 yuan for pocket money to spend freely during the summer!" Chen Feirong waved her hand generously.

"What if I get into a 211 university?" Jiang Che grinned.

"211... If you get into a 211, I'll give you 5,000, and 10,000 for a 985! Do you want to ask how much for First Place? If you bring that honor to our family, I'll give you all your dad's 50,000 yuan of private savings!" Chen Feirong offered a high price, thinking of saying 100,000, knowing Jiang Che couldn't achieve it anyway.

Jiang Liyun was full of question marks.

After hearing her words, Jiang Che turned and went back to his room.

Chen Feirong looked at Jiang Liyun in surprise.

"What's that brat up to?"

"Maybe he got motivated and went back to work hard?"

Chen Feirong's frown eased. If that was the result, her words weren't in vain.

But unexpectedly, Jiang Che soon came running back with a pen and paper, placing them in front of Chen Feirong.

"What are you doing?" Chen Feirong looked at her son.

"Put it in writing! In case you go back on your word." Jiang Che grinned.

"I..." Chen Feirong laughed in exasperation, picked up the pen, and wrote, "Alright, I'll put it in writing. Just don't end up with nothing from me, that would be embarrassing!"

Jiang Che took the written agreement from Chen Feirong, grinning like a fool.
