Chapter 1 – Transcended, Yet My Powers Remain

Lin Changsheng opened his eyes.

What he saw was an ancient wooden beam, with a faint scent of sandalwood lingering in the air.

Wasn't he supposed to be pulling an all-nighter on a project in his rented apartment?

A surge of unfamiliar memories flooded his mind.

This was the Tianyuan Continent, a world where Immortal Sects and cultivators existed.

And he was now a newly inducted Outer Sect Disciple of the Qingyun Sect, also named Lin Changsheng.

An hour ago, the original owner of this body had failed to successfully perform Qi Induction, which led to a heart attack and his demise, allowing Lin Changsheng from Earth to take over.

"I've transmigrated..."

Lin Changsheng murmured to himself, digesting this fact. He wasn't too panicked. As a modern youth well-versed in web novels, he was quite accepting of the idea of transmigration. Since he was here, he might as well make the best of it.

He was more concerned about another matter. Lin Changsheng closed his eyes and focused his mind. The next second, he felt weightless, as if he had escaped the pull of gravity.

He slowly opened his eyes to find himself floating about one foot off the ground. "As expected..." A smile spread across Lin Changsheng's lips.

His superpowers had transmigrated with him. Flight. This was just the least conspicuous of his many abilities. He descended back onto the bed without making a sound. Then, he focused his attention on the teacup on the table.

"Rise," he silently commanded.

The ceramic teacup trembled slightly before it wobbled and floated into the air.

Mind Power, still present and as strong as before his transmigration. He could easily lift a car with his Mind Power, so lifting a small teacup was naturally effortless. Lin Changsheng, feeling playful, controlled the teacup to dance around the room, accelerating and stopping abruptly, maneuvering it with incredible agility. After a while, he placed the teacup back in its original spot. He looked at his palm and clenched it tightly. There was nothing unusual. But he knew that if he wished, this body's regenerative ability would become terrifyingly powerful. Even severed limbs could regrow in a short time. Super regeneration. This was his ultimate life-saving trump card. Lin Changsheng closed his eyes slightly and focused his mind on a tree outside the room.

Swish.

His figure instantly vanished from the room.

When he reappeared, he was standing under the shade of that large tree.

Teleportation. As long as it was within his line of sight or within the range of his mental perception, he could reach it instantly.

Flight, Mind Power, super regeneration, teleportation.

These four superpowers were his foundation in his previous life, and now, they were his greatest reliance in this unfamiliar world of cultivation.

"A world of cultivation, paired with my superpowers..." Lin Changsheng's eyes sparkled with endless imagination. Others had to painstakingly cultivate their skills and abilities.

But his powers were innate, as simple as breathing. This starting point seemed a bit too high. Just then, a rumbling sound came from his stomach.

Lin Changsheng rubbed his stomach, feeling a bit hungry. According to his memories, newly inducted disciples could receive free meals for three days at the Outer Sect Cafeteria.

Today happened to be the third day. "Let's fill my stomach first."

Lin Changsheng adjusted his slightly oversized gray Disciple Uniform, pushed open the door, and walked out.

Outside was a small courtyard, with a few simple wooden huts lined up.

In the distance, he could see misty mountains and the occasional flying crane.

What a scene of an immortal's abode.

Lin Changsheng took a deep breath, feeling that the air was a hundred times fresher than Earth's.

He walked cheerfully in the direction of the cafeteria, as recalled from his memory.

Along the way, he encountered many disciples wearing the same gray attire.

Most of them were in a hurry, with a mix of anticipation and anxiety on their faces about the future.

These people were Outer Sect Disciples who had entered the sect at the same time as him.

"Hey, isn't this Junior Brother Lin? I heard you failed to perform Qi Induction yesterday and fainted. Are you alright now?"

A slightly mocking voice came from the side.

Lin Changsheng turned to look.

A tall and thin young man was looking at him with a sideways glance, a smirk of undisguised ridicule on his lips.

According to his memories, this person was named Zhang Yang, one of the more talented disciples among their cohort, who reportedly sensed Qi on his first day in the sect.

As a result, he always carried himself with an air of superiority, enjoying mocking those with lesser talent.

The original owner of this body was often the target of his ridicule.

Lin Changsheng didn't want to cause trouble and replied calmly.

"Thank you for your concern, Senior Brother. I'm fine now." With that, he prepared to bypass Zhang Yang and leave.

"Hold on." Zhang Yang stepped in front of him, pursing his lips.

"Junior Brother Lin, I advise you to give up early. Cultivation is about talent, not perseverance. A waste like you who can't even sense Qi is just wasting food in Qingyun Sect."

His voice was loud, drawing the attention of passing disciples.

Many looked on with expressions of amusement. Lin Changsheng frowned slightly. He had intended to keep a low profile, but trouble always seemed to find him.

"Whether I can cultivate or not is none of your concern, Senior Brother Zhang." Lin Changsheng's tone was calm, but his gaze turned cold.

Not wanting to reveal his strength didn't mean he was a pushover. Zhang Yang seemed angered by Lin Changsheng's gaze, his face darkened, and he stepped forward, reaching out to shove Lin Changsheng's shoulder.

"What kind of attitude is that? Do you believe I..." Before he could finish, his foot suddenly slipped.

It was as if Zhang Yang had stepped on a banana peel, losing his balance, and with a cry of surprise, he fell backward. "Thud!" He landed flat on his back, his head making a dull thud against the ground.

The surrounding disciples were stunned. They had seen clearly that there was nothing under Zhang Yang's feet, so how did he slip for no reason?

Lin Changsheng looked expressionlessly at Zhang Yang, who was grimacing on the ground.

Just now, he had used a barely detectable thread of Mind Power on Zhang Yang's foot. The effect was surprisingly good.

"Senior Brother Zhang, be careful when you walk." Lin Changsheng "kindly" reminded him.

Then, he ignored the wailing Zhang Yang on the ground and the dumbfounded onlookers, heading straight for the cafeteria.

To him, this was just a minor episode. His mind was now filled with thoughts of how the cultivation system of this world would interact with his superpowers, and what kind of wonderful chemical reaction it would produce.

Perhaps, immortality wasn't just a dream.
