Chapter 26 – Class 10 United as One

"Are we going to die? Like Mao Houwang, killed by a ghost? Are we going to disappear from this world?!"

Wu Bin collapsed to the ground, crying bitterly.

Ye Runhai sat on the floor with a lifeless expression, constantly sending messages on his phone.

Su Yuan wasn't in the mood to study any birds or lamps right now. He walked straight to the still-dazed Song Xiaoxia and said, "Come to our dorm tonight."

"Hmm?" Song Xiaoxia snapped back to reality and looked at Su Yuan.

"Come to our dorm tonight," Su Yuan repeated. "The [family members] can't enter the dorm. We're guys, we're stronger, we can hold you down and keep you from leaving. Besides, doesn't Zhang Yang have a lot of talismans? His third uncle is a descendant of the Celestial Master Mansion on Dragon and Tiger Mountain. With those treasures, no ghost can get close..."

Su Yuan said a lot in one breath, not knowing if he was saying it for Song Xiaoxia or himself.

Song Xiaoxia's face was pale, but she remained calm. She even chuckled lightly at the end, "Didn't you look down on those [talismans] before? Why now..."

"Stop talking." Su Yuan didn't understand how she could still smile, and without further ado, he grabbed her hand and started walking, "There's no time, let's go."

"Wait, it's still raining outside."

Song Xiaoxia broke free from Su Yuan's hand, ran to her seat to grab an umbrella, then walked back to Su Yuan, slipping her hand back into his with a gentle smile, "Let's go."

Su Yuan led Song Xiaoxia to the classroom door and called out to Zhang Yang, who was standing confused among the crowd, "Let's go, old Zhang!"

"Oh, okay!" Zhang Yang responded, slinging a urea bag over his shoulder and chasing after them.

The night wind was biting, and the stars and moon were shrouded by dark clouds.

Students walked in small groups along the tree-lined path, chatting and laughing.

Su Yuan held Song Xiaoxia's hand, walking briskly.

Song Xiaoxia stumbled behind him with the umbrella, slightly tilting it forward, silently watching Su Yuan's profile with a hint of tenderness in her eyes.

Zhang Yang and Ye Haoyu carried the urea bag, clattering behind them, drawing the attention of many classmates.

As they neared the dormitory, Su Yuan stopped, pulled up Song Xiaoxia's hood to cover her head, and softly said, "Keep your head down."

"Okay..." Song Xiaoxia obediently lowered her head.

As they entered the dormitory building, Su Yuan instinctively glanced towards the dorm supervisor's room.

Inside sat the middle-aged man they had seen during the day...

His mind had no capacity for other thoughts now, as he rushed with Song Xiaoxia to the fifth floor.

Upon entering, Su Yuan pointed to the empty bed in the dormitory and said, "Lie down there first."

"Okay." Song Xiaoxia nodded, not asking questions. Whatever Su Yuan said, she would do.

Watching Song Xiaoxia lie down on the empty bed, Su Yuan tore his bedsheet into long strips.

At this moment, Zhang Yang and Ye Haoyu returned.

Su Yuan walked over, "Old Zhang, give me the rope."

"Sure." Zhang Yang quickly untied the hemp rope from the urea bag and handed it to Su Yuan.

Su Yuan took the rope and pulled it hard.

The length was sufficient, and it was sturdy.

He returned to the bed and tightly bound Song Xiaoxia's body to the bed frame with the rope.

Su Yuan tied it very tightly, even making a dead knot at the end. Seeing Song Xiaoxia struggling to breathe, he softly said, "Bear with it."

"It's... it's okay."

Su Yuan then used the torn bedsheet strips to tie Song Xiaoxia's hands and feet to the steel pipes around the bed.

While doing all this, Song Xiaoxia tilted her head, watching him with an inexplicable smile on her face.

"Why are you staring at me?" Su Yuan frowned deeply, "And are you happy now? Why are you smiling?"

"You're so close, who else should I look at?" Song Xiaoxia blinked lightly, not answering the latter question.

Then, she softly asked, "Su Yuan, will I die?"

"No." Su Yuan shook his head.

"Why?" Song Xiaoxia asked again.

"No means no!" Su Yuan replied impatiently, "Didn't I say in the classroom? We'll hold you down, and Zhang Yang has talismans. Nothing will happen."

"Alright, I know, don't be so harsh..." Song Xiaoxia struggled a bit, "You tied it too tight... it's almost strangling me."

In the hallway.

Zhang Yang held a bucket in one hand and a brush in the other, repeatedly painting the dormitory door with the foul-smelling black dog's blood.

Gao Wenyi held a bag of glutinous rice, sprinkling it evenly on the tiled floor, "Zhang Yang, do these things really work? We're counting on you now!"

Zhang Yang's expression was no longer as relaxed as before. He wiped the sweat off his forehead and said, "Stop talking, just hurry up. I can't explain it all now."

After painting three full coats, Zhang Yang handed the bucket to Zhou Yulong, who had been waiting, and instructed, "There's still a lot left. After painting each dorm, pour the rest on the ground..."

"Don't pour it all at once, sprinkle it bit by bit, and try to cover every area..."

Zhou Yulong took the bucket, nodding seriously, "Got it! I understand."

Ye Haoyu came over, bent down to grab a handful of yellow talismans from the bag, and asked, "How do we use these?"

Zhang Yang glanced at him, "Didn't you say you bought them wholesale?"

"Stop talking nonsense!" Ye Haoyu glared at him, "Just tell me how to use them!"

Zhang Yang thought for a moment and said, "Stick these last. I'll do it later myself. You handle this..."

With that, Zhang Yang took out a bottle of boy's urine from the urea bag and handed it to Ye Haoyu.

Ye Haoyu frowned but still reached out to take it, "Pour it on the ground too?"

Zhang Yang nodded.

"Will pouring it all on the ground be effective?" asked a somewhat short and chubby boy standing nearby.

His name was Wang Hao, a good buddy of Zheng Yuhang at school.

"In theory, it's most effective when splashed directly on the [ghost]," Zhang Yang said, "But who's going to do it? You?"

Wang Hao fell silent.

Wu Wentao hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward and asked, "Is there anything I can do?"

He was worried that his behavior in the classroom might lead to isolation, eager to do something to make amends.

Zhang Yang handed him a wooden box, which contained red crystalline substances.

"This is cinnabar," Zhang Yang explained, "This... forget it, just sprinkle it on the ground too."

"Alright, I'll get on it right away!"

Wu Wentao was overjoyed, taking the wooden box and eagerly working in the most crowded area.

In other dormitories, classmates also followed Su Yuan's example, tearing bedsheets into strips to bind the participants who failed tonight's game.

Five dorms, just five people.

Almost everyone was doing what they could.

Some were simply very close to the [participants].

Others hoped for help from others when they were in trouble.

At least for tonight, the senior year class 10 was united.
