Chapter 8 – Mysterious Adventurer Squad

The kind villagers quickly pulled the two young adventurers back to the village.

They found the village doctor.

The Old Doctor, upon seeing their wounds, broke into a cold sweat.

"No, no, these wounds are too severe, there's no way to treat them!"

"We must use healing potions!"

"Otherwise... they'll surely bleed to death..."

"What?"

"Healing potions are very expensive, ordinary adventurers can't afford them, let alone us..."

"Then we can only send them to the town first, and maybe take a loan to buy potions..."

"But can they hold on until they reach the town?"

"Right, isn't there a little girl with them? Let her decide!"

"After all, they're teammates!"

"Alright..."

The villagers all turned their eyes to Alice.

But the freckled little girl seemed distracted, lost in her thoughts, ignoring her teammates' injuries.

It took several calls from the villagers for her to snap out of it.

"Let's take them back to the town first, and then figure something out..."

Alice finally made the decision, hoping the villagers would help take the two to the town.

The villagers were very enthusiastic, bringing a cow to pull the cart towards Tim Town.

Just as they were leaving the village, they encountered a few people.

Judging by their attire, they were all adventurers, and of a fairly high level.

"What are you doing?" the warrior leading the group, carrying a sword and shield, asked curiously.

"Dear adventurers, these two young ones are also adventurers. They were severely injured by a demonic beast, and we're taking them back to town..."

"Oh?"

The warrior stepped forward for a quick inspection, frowning deeply.

"This demonic beast is vicious, targeting such critical spots. Even if the bleeding stops, there's a risk of infection...

Even if you get them to town, without healing potions, it won't help..."

These three are obviously rookies, probably not even past their probationary period, how could they afford healing potions?

Even if they reach town, it would be a death sentence.

"What should I do? We set out together, and now I'm the only one left. How do I explain this to their parents..."

Alice finally realized the gravity of the situation, covering her face and crying.

The warrior frowned, then suddenly smiled, "Healing potions are expensive, and they can save lives at critical moments, so we cherish them too...

But...We have a Healing Mage who can solve your problem!"

Alice looked up, surprised and delighted.

She didn't even bother to wipe her tears, grabbing the warrior's hand, "Really?"

"Of course it's true!"

The warrior laughed heartily and called out, "Tilimus, come over here!"

A green-haired girl with a staff and a pointed hat slowly approached.

She was expressionless, her green eyes showing no emotion, resembling a poker-faced girl.

"Tilimus, these three little ones are quite pitiful. Could you help them with some healing magic?" the warrior asked tentatively.

Tilimus remained unmoved, extending her small, delicate hand.

The warrior, looking resigned, pulled out a bag of silver coins from his backpack.

After receiving the payment, Tilimus finally raised her staff.

Her small mouth chattered incessantly, presumably chanting spells.

Then a green light shot from the staff, illuminating the two.

Gret and Wayne let out comfortable groans, their wounds healing rapidly before their eyes.

"My goodness, is this what a magician can do? It's amazing!"

Such severe injuries were completely healed in just a few breaths, even better than healing potions.

And it wasn't as expensive.

"Thank you for saving our lives!"

Gret and Wayne quickly jumped off the cart, kneeling on one knee before the two.

"Don't thank me, I'm just doing my job for pay!"

Tilimus remained expressionless, speaking coldly before returning to the group.

The warrior laughed heartily, "Stand up, helping each other is what adventurers do!

I hope that when you encounter such situations, you'll lend a hand to save our comrades and allies. Can you do that?"

"Sir, we promise to learn from you!"

"Very good!"

The warrior patted their shoulders, "Have you completed your mission? If so, head back to Tim Town."

"Sir, can we join you on your mission? We'd like to see how high-level adventurers fight," Wayne asked excitedly, almost wanting to become an apprentice.

"Not this time, we have a very important and dangerous mission, and it wouldn't be convenient for you to join. Next time, we'll take you along!"

"Alright..."

The three were a bit disappointed, but had to part ways.

"Let's go, we'll return to Tim Town before dark, hand in the mission, and rest for a couple of days!"

Gret urged the two to hurry back.

This mission had frightened them, and they needed a few days to recover.

Alice nodded with a complex expression, feeling a bit reluctant to leave.

She wanted to stay, to find another goblin to try again.

Having experienced the thrill of leveling up without effort, Alice couldn't settle down for hard training anymore.

As for the adventurer squad.

They left the village, following a path into the Great Forest.

They moved leisurely, as if on a tour.

No one knew their origins or what mission they were on.

Once in the forest, they began tapping and collecting samples to put in their backpacks.

Small demonic beasts like slimes and uni-rabbits didn't dare approach.

Only the wolf pack dared to linger at a distance, but didn't dare attack immediately.

"These wolf pups are quite smart!"

The handsome archer withdrew his Long Sight Skill, smirking disdainfully.

"It's our aura that scares them away, but they won't give up."

"Why don't we go over now and slay them all?" the warrior suggested.

"Don't forget our mission in the Great Forest!

As long as they don't attack us, we shouldn't complicate things," the Healing Mage Tilimus said expressionlessly.

"I was just saying, I wouldn't waste the effort."

"Those little ones said they were attacked by goblins, so there must be a goblin nest or tribe nearby. Let's find it and eliminate it first!"

"Alright!"

This adventurer squad was highly experienced, with no identifying marks to determine their level.

Their professions could only be guessed by their weapons, and their true strength was unknown.

But from the reactions of the beasts, it was clear they were not to be trifled with.

Their mission was related to goblins.

At this moment, Chen Yao was unaware of the deadly threat approaching him.

He was pondering how to strengthen himself and survive in the Great Forest.
