Chapter 10 – My name is Gobuya!

The woodland was deep and mysterious.

Chen Yao sat on a tree branch, looking helplessly at the wolf pack below.

They attempted to charge up, but the tree was too tall, and after several tries, they failed.

Finally feeling a bit relieved, Chen Yao took out a pancake to fill his stomach.

The wolf pack below grew even angrier, howling up at him.

But for the moment, there was nothing they could do.

"You bunch of beasts, come up if you have the guts!"

Chen Yao chewed on his pancake, occasionally breaking off a piece to throw down.

The enraged wolves circled the tree but were helpless.

"Hahaha, is that all? You're just small fry. Watch me eat and drink my fill, then teach you a lesson!"

Crunch!

Chen Yao devoured the pancake, and the wolves seemed to get an idea.

They started gnawing at the tree trunk with their fangs, sending wood chips flying.

"Damn!"

Startled, Chen Yao dared not be cocky anymore.

He quickly took out his bow and arrows, aiming and shooting.

Whoosh!

"Awooo~"

A Demon Wolf fell with a thud.

Seeing it was effective, Chen Yao bent his bow again, releasing three more arrows.

But the wolves had wised up, dodging nimbly.

"Damn it, are the animals here all cheating?"

Chen Yao cursed inwardly, watching the tree sway, about to fall.

He hurriedly used Shadow Step, instantly moving to another tree.

The Demon Wolves were stunned by Chen Yao's maneuver, taking a moment to react.

The lead wolf howled, and the pack rushed to the new tree, starting to bite it again.

Wood chips flew, and soon they made a large gap.

Chen Yao calmly jumped to another tree.

"……"

The lead wolf twitched, circling in frustration.

At this rate, when could they catch their prey?

Chen Yao felt quite smug. Though the demonic beasts had some brains, they weren't too smart.

He decided to wait it out, seeing who would last longer.

Unexpectedly, the wolves suddenly stiffened and turned to flee.

Chen Yao thought they had given up and grinned widely.

But his joy lasted only two seconds before he smelled a foul stench.

Alarmed, he turned.

"Hiss!"

A massive mouth appeared behind him, snapping at him like lightning.

Chen Yao twisted just in time, narrowly avoiding the attack.

But his arm was grazed by sharp fangs, leaving a long wound.

Blood gushed out instantly.

"Damn!"

Chen Yao cursed, falling from the tree.

He hit the ground hard, feeling dizzy.

It took a while to regain his senses.

Looking up, he saw a giant python, over ten meters long, lunging at him.

"Damn it!"

His left arm was numb. If he couldn't kill the opponent quickly, he was doomed.

Chen Yao released all his Fighting Spirit, pushing Shadow Step to the limit.

He dodged the attack, his short legs climbing the tree trunk.

Then he flipped onto the python's head.

With his dagger, he stabbed fiercely at the python's eye.

The dagger, infused with half of Chen Yao's Fighting Spirit, plunged into the python's head.

He frantically twisted it, turning the python's brain to mush.

The python let out a shrill screech, rearing up and crashing down.

It twitched twice, then lay still.

Chen Yao leaned against the python's body, panting heavily.

He dared not delay, looking at his arm wound, feeling dizzy.

Almost couldn't hold on.

Too much blood loss!

"Damn it!"

Driven by a strong will to survive, Chen Yao fought to stay awake.

He took out a toolbox, found an iron needle for armor.

Enduring the pain, he stitched the wound bit by bit.

He applied some herbs he carried, then bandaged it.

When everything was done, Chen Yao couldn't hold on any longer.

He blacked out.

He didn't know how long had passed when he awoke to a cacophony.

He was being carried forward by someone.

Beside him was the python's corpse.

"Have I been saved? Or captured as prey?"

Chen Yao struggled to sit up, seeing a group of Goblins chattering as they traveled.

"Huh? He's awake, our hero is awake!"

The Goblin carrying him shouted.

All the Goblins stopped, rushing back.

They looked at him with admiration, kneeling before him.

"Great Warrior, you have finally awoken!"

"We Goblins have someone who can kill a giant python alone. From now on, you are our leader, and we will follow you!"

Chen Yao was bewildered, feeling it was unreal.

Could this really happen to someone as unlucky as him?

He looked at his arm wound, finding it re-bandaged.

Unwrapping it, he saw it had mostly healed.

"What happened to my wound?" Chen Yao asked.

"We gathered some herbs. Humans say they're the main ingredient for healing potions..."

"So that's it..."

Chen Yao realized, feeling lucky to have survived.

If left to fend for himself, he might not have made it.

He could have been dragged off and eaten by a demonic beast.

"Alright, where's your nest? Let's head back!"

Since the Goblins accepted him as their leader, Chen Yao didn't hold back.

He immediately directed them to continue.

"Yes, Leader!"

The Goblins were delighted, dragging the python's corpse and carrying Chen Yao towards their nest.

The nest had only about twenty Goblins.

The previous leader, Gobji, completely submitted after witnessing Chen Yao's prowess.

With such a strong leader, they believed they could survive.

And become the strongest tribe in the area!

"Leader, this is our nest!

A few days ago, we captured two girls to breed the next generation!

If you don't mind, please use them as you wish. The Goblins you sire will surely be gifted."

Back at the nest, Chen Yao saw two human girls tied with ropes deep in the cave.

They were only fifteen or sixteen, looking disheveled and filthy.

Chen Yao felt a bit disgusted.

"Leader? If you're not satisfied, we can capture more from the village tomorrow!" Gobji asked nervously.

"No rush, we'll talk after I heal!"

"Yes, Leader."

"By the way, Leader, what's your name?"

"So we can tell others of your great deeds!" Gobji asked.

"Me? I'm Gobyao!"

"What a great name..."

Gobji wanted to say more but was cut off by Chen Yao.

"Alright, I need to rest! Find more of those herbs, so I can heal faster, understand?"

"Yes, Leader, we'll go now!"

After Gobji and the Goblins left, Chen Yao lay on the animal skins to rest.

He ate something, and fatigue washed over him again.

He fell asleep as soon as he closed his eyes.

Meanwhile.

The Goblin nests and tribes in the Kela Great Forest were facing a catastrophe!

A powerful Adventurer Squad was slaughtering them mercilessly.
