The zombie horde began its attack around two in the afternoon, and by dusk, the pile of zombie corpses had only reached a quarter of the height of the first city wall. However, the mass of zombies behind them stretched endlessly into the distance.
As long as the pile of zombie corpses didn't surpass the height of the city wall, it was relatively easy for everyone to fend them off. They took turns fighting, so no one got too exhausted.
Through narrow secret passages in the city wall, people could thrust their spears out repeatedly. There were multiple layers within the wall for people to attack from, and as the pile of zombie corpses grew, they gradually moved up to higher levels.
The topmost layer of the city wall was equipped with long flamethrowers, which were the ultimate weapons against zombies. However, these couldn't be used continuously and needed to be paused for cooling after a while.
