(You always thought the monster was hiding in a corner of the hallway, but the Security Department said it was in the Specimen Room.)
(Before you opened the door, the monster was waiting quietly in the Specimen Room.)
(It must have been the act of opening the door that animated the monster.)
(If you don't open the door, is there another way to get into the Specimen Room?)
(You feel you've figured out the correct way to enter the Specimen Room.)
(You return to the third floor.)
(You go to the third-floor restroom and pry open the vent cover on the ceiling.)
(You crawl through the ventilation ducts and arrive in the Specimen Room.)
(You wait quietly for a moment and, just as you thought, no monster appears to attack you.)
(You find the light switch.)
(The Specimen Room becomes as bright as day.)
(In a corner of the room, you see a monster curled up, hugging its knees as it squats on the floor.)
(Its left eye is a heart, and its right eye is a black 'X'.)
(You find a card in front of the monster.)
([Moonlight Giant: Upon contact with moonlight, it gains astonishing power and harbors immense hostility towards humans.])
(So, this monster only comes to life and pursues humans after being exposed to moonlight.)
(You are shocked.)
(Because the monster is actually one of the specimens.)
(You continue to explore the Specimen Room and find that all the specimens have some sort of ambiguous explanation.)
(You're curious why the medical staff aren't studying medicine, but are instead researching the habits of these monsters.)
(You become more certain that this world isn't based on the real world. It's a parallel universe teeming with monsters.)
(You can't use a real-world perspective to understand everything in this Dungeon.)
(Perhaps in the real world, these specimens are monsters, but in the world of this Dungeon, they are common creatures.)
(Instead, it's you and the other patients who are the rare animals.)
(You continue with your bold deductions.)
(This Hospital isn't a hospital, but a research institute. Everything they do is for the sake of studying creatures like humans.)
('Treating illnesses' is just a pretext to gain humanity's trust.)
(The Deer-Headed Person buying humans from the Hospital might also have some special motive. Humans might have high economic value to the local natives, which is why the Hospital is in the business of selling them.)
(For now, this is the most logical explanation you can come up with.)
(You let out a long sigh of relief.)
(So far, you've paid a great price in blood, sweat, and tears to gather this much information. An Adventurer without an SSS-Level Innate Skill could never have made it this far.)
(Clearly, the difficulty of Dungeons in the Weird World has been raised to a nearly fatal level.)
(Even with your Infinite Deduction, you're still constantly facing perilous situations.)
(You continue searching the Specimen Room.)
(Your attention is drawn to the Toad in the center of the hall.)
(The label in front of the Toad is still garbled.)
(You take off your mask and can finally read the writing.)
([Toads are the natural enemy of Spiders.])
(As a doctor, you can't see the label, but as a patient, you can.)
(You believe this is a very obvious hint meant for the patients.)
(In the entire Hospital, you've only seen one spider—the giant, man-eating one in Room 0.)
(Could the Toad be used to deal with the Spider?)
(You try to move the Toad specimen, but it doesn't budge.)
(You give up on taking the specimen.)
(You suddenly remember that the Convenience Store on the athletic field sells Live Toads.)
(Could that Live Toad be meant for Room 0?)
(You now have a direction to move forward.)
(You decide to stop exploring the Specimen Room. You climb back into the vent to explore the two adjacent rooms.)
(First, you go to the Dean's Office.)
(The Dean's Office is covered in dust. There's only a desk and chair, and a bookshelf full of books.)
(The bookshelf is filled with incomprehensible professional books.)
(There's a computer on the desk, but you don't know the password and can't turn it on.)
(You then crawl to the Security Department office next door.)
(Inside, there are only lockers and a simple desk. Each locker contains a Dog Head Mask.)
(Finally, you arrive at the general affairs office.)
(You try to pick up the Elephant Mask from the table, but find it's incredibly heavy. You can't use it at all.)
(You feel you've found enough information on the third floor.)
(You terminate the deduction.)
Gu Yi lay in bed, letting out a long sigh of relief.
Tonight's efforts weren't in vain after all; he had finally obtained some useful clues.
He lay in bed, closed his eyes, and finally drifted off to sleep.
...
The next day.
Just like the day before, Gu Yi went through the doctors' rounds.
Nothing in the ward had changed, but Gu Yi had already roamed the entire Hospital during his deduction yesterday. The only place he hadn't been to was the basement.
After quietly finishing his breakfast, Gu Yi went with all the other patients to the athletic field for free time.
Gu Yi didn't waste any time. As soon as he reached the field, he headed straight for the Convenience Store.
Upon seeing Gu Yi, the shopkeeper immediately pulled a fire axe from under the table and slammed it down with a bang.
"Calm down, I'm not here to fight."
Gu Yi quickly took a step back, so startled he almost used his Innate Skill.
"Don't worry, I don't kill people for no reason," the shopkeeper said. "I just want to tell you that I won't be accepting any more bets from you."
Gu Yi pouted. He had been planning to gamble with the shopkeeper to get a Live Toad for free.
"Alright, I'm not here to bet with you either. I want to purchase an item from you."
A quick look at tinyurl.com/2p9emv8w will leave you more fulfilled.
"Spit it out. What do you want?"
"A Live Toad."
A strange glint flashed in the shopkeeper's eyes. "What do you want that for?"
"That's none of your business."
"Do you have the money?"
"Is this enough?"
"Not enough."
"Then what should I do?"
"I can give you a task, but it's very dangerous. Are you willing to do it?"
"What task?"
The shopkeeper turned and went into the building, coming out with a little girl who looked to be three or four years old. The girl wasn't wearing any mask and had a look of pure innocence on her face.
"This is the Director's daughter. Your task is to play with her until free time is over."
"It's just babysitting..."
"Babysitting isn't a simple matter."
The shopkeeper took out a handbook and handed it to Gu Yi.
Gu Yi took it and saw another list of headache-inducing rules.
[Babysitter's Handbook]
1. Do not play hide-and-seek with the little girl.
2. Do not refuse any of the little girl's requests.
3. Do not let the little girl leave the backyard area.
On the back of the paper, there was still a line of bloody words.
"She's a devil! (crossed out)"
"She's very cute, like a little angel, isn't she?"
