Is there really a serpent with a human face and wings in this world?

The Water Serpent statue seems to be connected to another space, but it appears to be in a sealed state or not fully connected, like a tenuous link.

Humans can't pass through, and perhaps that human-faced serpent can't either.

But Krulu isn't restricted by space, so she just slipped right through.
