Chapter 13 – Direct Current

As Heyu was about to make his move, the Sect Master of the Wildsand Sect suddenly stood up inside the glass case.

"Old man, I advise you to show some respect to Senior Zhetian!"

Everyone was taken aback and turned to look at the Sect Master of the Wildsand Sect.

Was he always this bold?

Even the Seventh Elder was startled by this sudden outburst.

"That's a grand cultivator from the Sea of Calamity, your Dao Xuan Sect can't afford to provoke him!"

Since death was inevitable, why not try to bluff him?

Everyone could see through the Sect Master's intentions, and no one said a word.

The atmosphere fell silent, even the half-demons who had just invaded Qingyuan Mountain didn't dare to speak, nervously watching the Seventh Elder.

At this moment, a faint voice echoed in Bai Ling's mind:

'Linger, don't be stubborn. Apologize to the Sect Master, hand over Luo Qingyi and the Mystic Blood. The Sect Master promises to save you immediately. Luo Qingyi is better off with him than with the Supreme Elder.'

Hearing that familiar voice, Bai Ling smiled.

'Senior Sister... do you know why I ran away?'

"...Why go through all this trouble?"

...

Beneath the Enlightenment Cliff of Dao Xuan Mountain, a man smashed the tea set in front of him in anger, his veins bulging.

"Did she really say that?"

A woman nodded, her face full of regret.

"Damn it! Luo Qingyi is my granddaughter! My granddaughter! My daughter's child! Do I need Bai Ling's permission to see my granddaughter?"

Even though he had never looked Luo Qingyi in the eye and had even driven his own daughter, Bai Ling's master, to death, they were still blood relatives!

"Sect Master, Elder Tian Can has been in the Great Wildlands for a long time, keeping watch. He will snatch Luo Qingyi before the Seventh Elder does."

"As for the Mystic Blood, it's not that important."

The woman's voice was gentle, but her words were chilling.

Luo Wuwen could only nod in response.

At the very least, Luo Qingyi must not fall into Liu Yang's hands!

Her innate Dao Bones!

Now that the Dao Xuan Sect was divided, even though he was nominally the Sect Master, everyone knew that Liu Yang had taken half of the sect.

The Dao Bones were his only chance to stabilize the Dao Xuan Sect; he couldn't let them slip away.

Poor child, though. The pain of extracting the Dao Bones was unimaginable.

"Sect Master, Elder Tian Can mentioned seeing thunder fall in the Great Wildlands with great power. Could it be the work of a grand cultivator from the Great Wildlands?"

Hearing this, Luo Wuwen sneered.

"That barren place, what grand cultivator could it produce? Let Elder Tian Can be bold. If any cultivators from the Great Wildlands dare to interfere, kill them all."

Desperate times called for desperate measures. If Liu Yang dared to act on behalf of the Dao Xuan Sect, he had to keep up.

...

At that moment, Tian Can was hiding in the clouds, watching from afar, waiting for the Seventh Elder to show a flaw.

"This old man is really cautious."

Despite the Seventh Elder's dismissive words, his body remained tense, not relaxing in the slightest due to the enemy's weakness.

Tian Can circled Qingyuan Mountain, suddenly noticing the massive claw limb on the mountain.

A quick look at "paw𝑟ead.com" will leave you more fulfilled.

"Could it really be a grand cultivator from the Sea of Calamity?"

Tian Can murmured to himself, imagining the terrifying beast that could possess such a massive claw limb.

Could there really be someone backing Luo Qingyi?

On Qingyuan Mountain, the Seventh Elder suddenly burst into laughter.

"Trying to bluff me? Haha, in the Cultivation Realm, strength is paramount. You cultivators from the Great Wildlands are only capable of this much."

With that, the Seventh Elder reached out, intending to grab Luo Qingyi.

The Sect Master of the Wildsand Sect panicked, not expecting to be seen through so quickly. But then he noticed the 'battery' hovering over Qingyuan Mountain slowly starting to rotate.

"Look! What's that!"

The Sect Master of the Wildsand Sect pointed behind the Seventh Elder, who sneered dismissively.

A trick to fool children, used to deceive cultivators. These Great Wildlands cultivators were truly laughable.

"Uh..."

Bai Ling, lying on the ground, also noticed the battery spinning faster and faster. Suddenly, a blue-purple thunderbolt shot out from the battery disc, heading straight for the Seventh Elder.

The Seventh Elder's hair stood on end, instinctively leaping away.

But another thunderbolt emerged from the battery disc, striking the Seventh Elder directly.

"Ahhhhh!"

The Seventh Elder's screams echoed through the heavens and earth, sending shivers down the spines of the half-demons below.

Tian Can, hiding behind the clouds, was startled, watching the Seventh Elder being struck into a charred state, his scalp tingling.

What kind of thunder was that? He had never seen it before.

Purple Thunder? Thunderclap? Heavenly Thunder?

No, none of them.

It couldn't possibly be Tribulation Thunder, could it?

Tian Can stared intently at the massive disc, relieved that he hadn't acted.

Taking this opportunity, Luo Qingyi quickly helped Bai Ling up from the ground, feeding her a healing pill, which improved Bai Ling's complexion.

"Miss Luo, what kind of thunder is this?"

The Sect Master of the Wildsand Sect was bewildered, watching the Seventh Elder being continuously struck by lightning for nearly three minutes.

In the world of thunder arts, it was usually a momentary affair. Such prolonged thunder was unheard of.

"The senior said... it's Direct Current?"

Luo Qingyi had thought the senior wouldn't intervene, especially since her master was on the brink of death and the senior hadn't said a word.

Now it seemed she had misunderstood the senior again.

How could she doubt the senior?

Luo Qingyi silently vowed that if she ever achieved greatness, she would repay the senior.

The surrounding sect masters were dumbfounded, watching the Seventh Elder being electrocuted to death, thinking to themselves that the Emperor Zhetian's methods were indeed extraordinary. The Thunder Pool wouldn't attack, but the battery could.

"Direct Current?"

Tian Can in the sky heard the name through his spells, trying to recall, but even the Dao Xuan Sect's library had no record of such thunder.

Watching the still-screaming Seventh Elder, Tian Can didn't underestimate the power of this thunder.

Who was the cultivator helping Luo Qingyi, to give away such a powerful magical artifact?

Was his family that wealthy?

Outside the glass case, Heyu was dumbfounded, holding a laser pointer.

That button cell battery could discharge electricity?

And the way it stood on the mountaintop, continuously discharging and attacking, looked just like a defense tower.

"Enough!"

The Seventh Elder roared, initially thinking the thunder would be momentary. He had prepared to endure and counterattack, but the thunder from the disc seemed endless, with no intention of stopping.

If this continued, he would really die here.

"Watch out!"

Bai Ling, having just recovered a bit, quickly pulled Luo Qingyi behind her as the Seventh Elder suddenly took out a black box, with a crimson aura swirling around it.

"Damn thing, wasting my treasure!"

The Seventh Elder, consumed by rage, opened the black box.

Tian Can, in the clouds, hurriedly activated his concealment spells.

"Damn it, did Liu Yang really obtain the Great Evil's relic?"

Watching the ominous aura emanating from the Seventh Elder, Tian Can was filled with dread.

The Seventh Elder's power surged visibly, from merely an Elemental Infant cultivator to a level comparable to Divine Transformation in just a few breaths.

Rising an entire major realm, no spell could achieve that.

"What terrifying power, Sect Master, you've miscalculated."

Tian Can looked at Luo Qingyi and Bai Ling, thinking it was a pity.

There was no saving them; he had to look out for himself and avoid being discovered by the Seventh Elder.
