Chapter 134

It was already late, but Karun was still leaning against the back of the bed reading the newspaper.

Although he had told Alfred that they should rest first and that Puerh and Kevin would come back on their own, Karun still couldn't sleep until they returned.

In a normal household, losing a cat or a dog would make people anxious, let alone when the cats and dogs in question were no longer just pets.

Looking up at the clock, it was already past three in the morning. Karun sighed and turned another page of the newspaper.

Finally, there was movement at the rooftop stairs.

Karun got out of bed and saw Puerh come back, completely soaked and shaking her body to get rid of the water droplets.

"Where's Kevin?"

"He's still looking at something."

Karun went to the bathroom and got a dry towel, then squatted down to help Puerh dry herself.

"What is he looking at?"

"Two bodies. One is Judge Pavarotti, and the other is a female follower of the Mills religion, most likely the Anne mentioned in the notes."

"Are they dead?"

"Yes, killed by members of the Order of the Gods. Pavarotti was intercepted by the Order's Whip Squad, and Anne saved him, but they were soon caught by a Judgment Officer and killed by the Judgment Sword."

Karun paused for a moment, then continued to help Puerh dry herself. At that moment, Alfred, who heard the noise, also came up the stairs.

"Radio Monster, I need a cup of hot coffee now."

"Okay."

Alfred went downstairs to make coffee, while Puerh continued, "Both bodies were washed down the river, and Stupid Dog and I took the opportunity to drag them into a nearby drain to hide them. But the Whip Squad is still searching for the bodies, so we should go and collect them now. If there's any danger or if the hiding place is discovered, Stupid Dog will give us a warning. Running back and forth is really tiring. If Stupid Dog could talk, I wouldn't have to guess what it's trying to say for so long."

"Kevin can write."

"It's easier to guess 'woof woof woof' than to decipher his dog handwriting."

"Let's go now." Karun threw the towel aside and stood up.

Alfred came back with the coffee.

"Can't you wait for me to finish my coffee first? You know, coffee is hot and needs to be sipped slowly."

Alfred smiled, "No need. I added a lot of ice cubes to your hot coffee, so you can drink it now while it's still cool."

...

Alfred drove, and Karun sat in the passenger seat with Puerh in his arms. Puerh gave a rough location, and once they got closer, she gave specific directions.

"Don't drive too slowly," Karun reminded, "We don't want anyone to suspect that we're looking for something."

"Yes, young master."

"It's over there, under that slope," Puerh said.

"Okay, I'll park the car by the slope."As soon as the car stopped, a golden retriever ran up from the slope. Karun opened the car door and got out. "Is it safe?"

Kevin nodded vigorously.

Karun looked around and said, "Let's hurry up."

"Young master, you can stay in the car. I'll go down and move the bodies. After I'm done, we can just drive away. This way is the most efficient."

"Okay."

Karun agreed to the plan. After Alfred and Kevin got off the slope, he sat in the driver's seat, with Puerh sitting on his lap.

Karun turned on the car radio. A sad love song was playing, with ordinary lyrics and melody, nothing special.

Then, Karun took out a cigarette, lit it, put it down on the car seat, bent his right leg, and rolled down the window halfway. The rain quickly soaked his face and upper body, but the cigarette remained unextinguished because it was sheltered under the car door.

"What are you doing?" Puerh asked.

"Covering up," Karun answered.

"You're really cautious."

"It's a good habit."

Karun waved the burning cigarette from time to time, then cried out as if he had just broken up with someone, venting his heartbreak alone in the rainy night.

When the cigarette was almost burnt out, he threw it out and lit another one, continuing to hold it.

Puerh wanted to tease Karun again, but suddenly sensed something. It pretended to lie down facing down on Karun's legs as if sleeping, but actually bit his thigh as a reminder.

Karun raised his head and began to sing along with the music from the radio. He was a little off-key, but his voice was loud.

A black shadow flashed in the car's rearview mirror. Karun noticed it was a man in a black robe holding an umbrella. He walked past quickly.

After a while, Puerh turned over in disbelief and said, "I can't believe we actually encountered them."

"Is he from the Order of the Gods?" Karun asked.

"I'm not sure. He's a priest for sure, but there's a hall of the Abyssal Cult nearby."

At this moment, the golden retriever ran onto the road, looked left and right, then turned around and ran down again. Soon, Alfred came up carrying two bodies. Karun, who was sitting in the car, reached out to open the back door in advance.

Alfred put the bodies on the back seat without bothering to tidy them up. He climbed over to the front passenger seat from the top of the car, while Kevin ran and jumped in through the window, caught by Alfred.

Karun immediately started the car and drove away from there.

On the way back, Karun drove fast and frequently checked the rearview mirror. Alfred kept adjusting the radio and his eyes were always red. The golden retriever stuck its head out of the car window, observing the outside.

In short, the atmosphere in the car was very quiet, and everyone was observing whether they were being followed.

After driving into the apartment complex, Alfred carried the two bodies up the side stairs alone, while Karun wiped the back seat with a towel and cleaned up the bloodstains left behind. After finishing the cleaning, Karun walked up the stairs to the second floor and Alfred placed the bodies of Pavarotti and Annie in the bathroom.Until now, Karun had the opportunity to carefully observe the two corpses.

Mr. Pavarotti's death was the most miserable. He had various wounds on his body, probably left over from the initial battle.

Mrs. Annie had only one wound on her body, which was the hole pierced by the Judgment Sword, and there was also a hole in her forehead, the so-called center of the eyebrows. When she lay on the ground of the bathroom, you could even see the white tiles underneath through the hole in her forehead.

There were many openings on Mr. Pavarotti's body, but there was no gap in his head.

Jinmao pulled down a towel and lay on it, wiping himself.

Alfred asked, "Young master, can they be revived?"

Karun shook his head and said, "The damage to the bodies is too great, it is unlikely that they will be successfully revived."

"Woof!" (Both of these bodies are valuable materials for processing and collection.)

Puerh glared at Jinmao and translated, "It says, what a pity."

Karun nodded and said, "But I want to try."

Alfred stepped back to the door of the bathroom, Puerh also stepped back there, and Jinmao picked up the towel on the ground and moved it to the door.

Karun decided to try to "revive" Mrs. Annie first, because apart from the wound on her head, overall, her body was less damaged than Mr. Pavarotti's.

The principle of "revival" is to awaken the residual spiritual power in the corpse. Memories are stored in spiritual power, and in fact, the relationship with the "brain" is not significant.

Karun closed his eyes and silently searched for the feeling he had when he tried to "revive" before.

Soon, a black chain appeared under Karun's feet, and they began to rotate around him. Unlike the last time he tried to revive Count Reker, this time the chains were clearly more active and could even adjust their state according to the terrain in the bathroom.

Karun opened his eyes, looked at Mrs. Annie, pointed at her with his hand, and said in a deep voice, "Great and supreme god of order, here I will borrow your power to awaken the existence in front of me according to the rules of order!"

The chain extended and entered Mrs. Annie's body.

However, for a long time, Mrs. Annie's body remained motionless, and there was no sign of her wanting to wake up. The chain slowly withdrew and returned to Karun's feet.

Karun said, "The residual spiritual power in her body is much less than I expected."

Puerh said, "It should be because of the Judgment Sword. When the Judgment Sword kills, it also wipes out other residues in the body, which is equivalent to completing a certain degree of purification."

Alfred said, "So, this is a high-quality purified body?"

This thing is very important for supernatural beings and can help them piece together their own bodies, just like Lady Molly back then.

Alfred continued, "Mr. Pavarotti has even less chance. His body is more severely damaged, and he was also pierced by the Judgment Sword."

Karun nodded, agreeing with Alfred's inference.

But Karun still re-read the spell towards Mr. Pavarotti's body."I, the great and supreme God of Order, will borrow your power here, and awaken the existence before me with the rules of order!"

The chains under his feet extended towards Mr. Pavarro. This was originally a "perfect" form for Karun. Anyway, even though he knew there was little hope, he still went through the process.

But who knew that when the black chains entered Mr. Pavarro's body, this corpse actually began to tremble slightly, indicating a very obvious trend of "awakening"!

Puerh asked in confusion, "This shouldn't be. Why wasn't his spiritual power erased by the Judgment Sword?"

Karun looked at the scene before him and answered, "Because he truly believes in order."
