Chapter 325 – Grandfather's youth

Using the excuse of having urgent matters, Karun bid farewell to the people of the Guman family. Mrs. Tang Li stood by the wooden fence in the garden, watching Karun get into the car. Karun smiled and waved at the old lady.

But when he started the car, Karun paused for a moment and touched the folded black paper in his pocket.

Karun quickly arrived at the entrance of the Le Mar Pottery Art Museum.

He got off the car and entered the museum. There was a corpse lying on the table, with its stomach cut open and its neck twisted to the right.

In broad daylight, this scene seemed out of place, especially since the shop had a glass door.

But as he approached, Karun could see that the body's stomach was not filled with organs, but with gears.

Le Mar happened to come in from behind, holding "dissection" tools. When he saw Karun, he immediately said, "Mr. Karun, Mr. Memphis went to chase someone."

Karun pointed to the puppet on the table.

"There were two people, but this one was silenced. He's a puppet."

"How did Memphis chase him?"

"Oh, he asked me to give this to you." Le Mar handed a ruler to Karun. "Mr. Memphis has been bored staying in the shop these days, so he set up tracking formations both inside the shop and on the street outside."

"Alright, I understand." Karun took the ruler and infused it with spiritual power. The ruler gave off a directional vibration.

This ruler should not be used to track the fleeing target, but to locate Mr. Memphis himself.

"I understand, you stay in the shop."

"Alright, I got it."

Karun took the ruler back to the car and placed it under the car window. With the car's movement, the ruler would adjust its direction on its own.

...

In a field in the southern part of York City, Philomena moved quickly. She closed her eyes and swayed her body from side to side, but her speed was astonishing.

Behind her, Mr. Memphis stepped on runes that appeared under his feet. Although each step was not fast, the distance covered was remarkable. He kept up with the target at his own pace.

Finally, the target stopped.

Philomena covered her face, hiding her true identity. Then, she flipped her left hand, and a thread appeared on her wrist, condensing into a short silver sickle.

Mr. Memphis stopped and began to set up defensive formations under his feet and around him.

He knew he was not good at fighting, so as soon as the other party showed intentions to attack, he immediately prepared for defense.

Seeing this scene, Philomena didn't know what to do for a moment. She put away the sickle, moved to the side, and continued to run.

Mr. Memphis immediately removed the defensive formations he had just set up and chased after her in the same way as before.

And so, the two of them engaged in a long chase game.

During the chase, both sides stopped several times, but the situation was always the same. Mr. Memphis never had any intention to attack, not even a little bit.

And looking at the defensive formations he set up, Philomena knew it would be difficult to break through, so she could only change direction and continue the chase.

In the latter part of the chase, both of them circled around the same area.

A person who disrupted this peaceful balance appeared. A black mist appeared in front of Philomena, blocking her way, and Karun's figure emerged from it.

Philomena stopped and looked at Karun.

"Do you know me?"

Karun noticed the change in the masked person's gaze.

Philomena took off her mask, revealing her face.

Karun frowned slightly. "It's you?"

Philomena put away the sickle and raised her hands slightly, palms facing Karun, indicating that she didn't want to fight.

Karun also held the small bead that was originally intended to teleport the Sword of Achilles, but he didn't rush to crush it.

"I wanted to fight you, but not because of this."

"That pottery art museum is owned by my friend." Karun stated his position.

"Someone asked me to make a puppet for him. I helped him, it's as simple as that. Do you believe me?"

"I can believe you, but you need to hand that person over to me."

Philomena shook her head. "No, I can't."

"No room for negotiation?"

"Do you have any?"

"No." Karun said firmly, "I have to catch that person. It's a promise I made."

"I can't tell you where he is. Although I didn't make a promise to him, it's a rule. You should understand."

"Yes, I understand."

Karun crushed the bead, and a miniature teleportation array appeared. He immediately grabbed the hilt and drew the Sword of Achilles.

The Puerh that appeared earlier was just a summoned illusion using magic. What he summoned now was a real sword.

The cold light of the sickle and the killing intent of the sword began to intertwine between the two.

But at that moment, an eagle flew out of the sky. After circling above, the eagle flew away.

Philomena stood up straight and put away the sickle once again.

She said, "Alright, come with me. I'll take you to catch him."

"Huh?"This sudden change caught Karun off guard, as he had clearly seen the girl's fighting spirit in her eyes earlier.

"Don't you believe me?" Philomena asked, "I don't like to lie in dreams."

"I believe you, but you could have told me earlier."

Karun looked down at the Sword of Alus in his hand and sighed inwardly:

Ah, three thousand Order coupons wasted just like that.

……

"Don't you have any tea at home?" Lady Tang Li looked at the glass of clear water in her hand and took a small sip, "Well water?"

"I don't drink tea."

"You should always have some for guests."

"You are the first guest in nearly ten years."

"Some teas are suitable for aging."

Lady Felsher smiled and continued knitting her sweater, "You're still the same as before, always meticulous in your daily life. It seems nothing has changed, except you've aged a bit."

"You could have left out the last part."

Lady Felsher sighed, "Ah, being old is being old. What can't be said, and what can't be heard?"

"Alright, alright." Lady Tang Li put down her teacup, "Actually, I didn't want to come here. Today's visit was just a small accident."

"I know, because you didn't bring a gift."

"You know, when I saw that drowsy, sleepy girl, I immediately thought of you from the past. I guessed that she must be related to you."

"She's my granddaughter, Philomena."

At this point, Lady Felsher kicked something under the table. The man under the table grunted twice, crawled out, and then snuggled up to Lady Tang Li's feet, sticking out his tongue and craning his neck.

"He's her child."

"Why do you torture yourself like this?" Lady Tang Li asked, "Not only do you torture yourself, but you also torture your own family."

"Because... pain." Lady Felsher finally put down her knitting, her eyes wide, "Have you ever experienced this?"

"I think I have. My eldest daughter has left me forever, and I, ironically, dare not think of her, haha..."

"Tell me, what's your purpose in coming here?"

"To clear up a misunderstanding, related to your granddaughter."

"Has the younger generation's affairs involved you?"

"Yes, it involves my son."

"Alright." Lady Felsher pushed a wrapped black ball of yarn next to her. The ball of yarn fell to the ground and dispersed, forming the shadow of an eagle, which flew out of the window.

"Do you need me to stay a bit longer?" Lady Tang Li asked.

"You haven't visited for so many years, and you're in such a hurry to leave just after arriving?"

"I thought you would give me an excuse to leave. Tell me, what do you need my help with?"

"I had Philomena look for some of my old subordinates a while ago to investigate a surname, the surname of a family of Order Church judges. But the result of the investigation is that this surname seems to have never existed.

Haha, if it weren't for the fact that so many people in my family have died, I would believe it."

"Isn't it normal to not find anything?"

"Normal?"

"Tell me, within the Order Church, what kind of person has the privilege to set a family surname as an absolute secret."

"You mean..."

"Dis has entered the Order Temple and become the supreme elder of the temple."

Lady Felsher fell silent.

Lady Tang Li looked down at Lady Felsher and comforted, "You know his talent better than I do. He was so powerful back then. It can be said that the door of the Order Temple was opened for him in advance.

You have no chance for revenge, never."

Lady Tang Li stood up, walked to the door, stopped, turned her back to Lady Felsher, and said, "Your granddaughter really resembles you when you were young. Be good to her."

"Hahaha..."

Lady Felsher's face was immediately filled with resentment, and she gritted her teeth:

"No, he hasn't entered the Order Temple! No, absolutely not!"

Lady Tang Li's face remained calm, "Are you so sure?"

"Have you forgotten what he once said? He said that the Order Temple is a place for retirement."

"I'm old, you're old, and he must be old too, so he went to retire."

The resentment on Lady Felsher's face quickly faded, and a touch of reminiscence and infatuation appeared in her eyes. Her voice also became gentle:

"No, in my heart, he is forever young."
