Chapter 327 – Master Alfred

In the backyard of the funeral home, Mrs. Lake was sitting on a stool, doing makeup for Mr. Joto.

Mr. Joto had died in the hospital, and his body had been prepared for the funeral. Although there was some damage, his appearance was not too tragic. He even had a sense of calm and relief.

In the past, Mrs. Lake would have loved to have such a client.

She didn't like to receive clients with a tragic or completely disfigured appearance because most of their families didn't want to spend extra money on makeup.

But now, Mrs. Lake didn't care anymore. Since Karun took over as the actual boss of the funeral home after her husband's death, the business had become so slow that sometimes she felt itchy.

At this moment, Hili walked in and looked at Mr. Joto's current appearance, exclaiming, "Madam, your skills are amazing. I want to learn makeup from you."

"Doing makeup for the deceased is different from doing makeup for the living." Mrs. Lake smiled. "Besides, after you do makeup for the deceased, are you going to cook for the young master?"

"The young master won't mind. I heard Mr. Alfred say that they used to run a funeral home too."

"Whether the young master minds or not is his business. You are a maid, you should know your place."

Hili stuck out her tongue and said, "Okay, I got it."

"If you want to learn painting, you can accompany Dorodolin and the others to their classes next time."

"Okay, starting tomorrow, I will go to audit the classes. Oh, by the way, I almost forgot the main thing. Madam, do you want to take a look at the jar of soy sauce? I think there's mold on top."

"Oh no!"

Mrs. Lake immediately put down her tools and stood up, walking out of the workroom with Hili. Although Karun didn't like soy sauce, Mrs. Lake liked the taste of new dishes. Sometimes, she would secretly make some soy sauce for herself as a midnight snack.

After they left, Puerh rode on Kevin and entered the room.

Puerh looked at Mr. Joto lying on the stretcher and sighed, "He's lucky. After death, he can completely erase the pollution."

Kevin sensed that Puerh seemed a bit sad.

Puerh immediately shook her head, completely dispelling the previous depression, and said, "Stupid dog, how about we go out for a walk?"

"Woof?"

"Shouldn't be dangerous, right?" Puerh blinked. "Should we inform the radio fairy?"

Kevin nodded in agreement.

"You're such a cowardly dog, who did you learn from?"

Kevin raised an eyebrow.

...

To Puerh's surprise, the radio fairy not only agreed to their request but also offered to go out with them since it happened to be going out.

So, Puerh sat on her puppet's shoulder, and Kevin let his puppet lead him as they got into Alfred's car.

Alfred drove them to the entrance of a bowling club, and there were many restaurants and dessert shops on the street outside.

"I have something to do inside. You can wander around here," Alfred said, taking out 5,000 Leirs and putting them into Puerh and Kevin's puppet pockets.

"Radio fairy, is this your club?" Puerh asked.

"The club owner is one of my subordinates. We have regular meetings here."

"Meetings for supernatural beings?" Puerh exclaimed. "Wow, radio fairy, you're really efficient."

It remembered that Alfred had mentioned this to Karun last time, and Karun had agreed.

But it hadn't been long since then, and the radio fairy had really started its own gang.

"If I were also a pet, I could be so carefree."

Puerh spoke, "I suspect you're mocking me."

"Woof!"

"Everyone has different roles. My task is to help the young master with trivial matters as much as possible, and Kevin's task is to provide advice in terms of knowledge."

"What about me?"

"Your task is to accompany the young master to sleep."

"Woof!"

Puerh wagged its tail and said disdainfully, "Hmph, do you think I would get angry just because you say that? Haha, naive. I know you envy me so much that you can't even handle it. I'm not angry, I'm proud, meow."

"Alright, remember not to go too far and stay safe."

"Then we'll be bored outside later. Can we come and find you?"

"You can, just mention my name."

"Um? What's your name, radio fairy?"

Kevin chuckled and echoed, "Woof?"

Alfred took out a business card from his chest and handed it to "Miss Puerh."

"Miss Puerh" took the business card and placed it in front of Puerh, reading, "Alfred Sow?"

"Yes."

"Sow, what does this syllable mean?" Puerh asked in confusion. "Is it a character in the language created by Karun?"

"Yes, Sow represents delicacy and elegance."

"Oh, I see. Then I am Elegant Puerh?"

"Woof!"

"Okay, you are Elegant Kevin."

"This is the name the young master gave me."

"Okay, I know you're deliberately showing off. The stupid dog and I are going shopping. You can go busy yourself, Radio Sow Fairy."

After parting ways with Alfred, Puerh and Kevin first went to a dessert shop and ordered many desserts at once.

The pocket money Alfred had just given them was equivalent to two months' income for a white-collar worker in York City, enough for them to enjoy themselves here.

Soon, the desserts were served one by one.

Under the surprised gaze of the waiters, they watched as the lady attentively fed her cat with the desserts, while the gentleman carefully fed his dog. After finishing dessert, Puerh and Kevin went to the ice cream shop, and then bought a lot of other snacks. Finally, they sat on a bench by the roadside, watching people come and go while eating.

Puerh burped and said, "This is the life, meow."

"Woof!"

In terms of food, the food outside probably wouldn't be better than the food at home. Even if it was Shili Maid, under Puerh's training, the dessert skills had also improved significantly. But the experience of eating in the crowd and enjoying life as a "normal person" had a special meaning for Puerh and Kevin.

"You stupid dog, look over there!"

Kevin followed Puerh's direction and saw a snack shop with a half-open rolling shutter on the street.

Kevin wasn't very interested and lowered his head to continue eating his hot dog.

"You useless stupid dog." Puerh shook her head. "A normal man shouldn't be thinking about going there as soon as he's released after being locked up for a long time, right?"

At this moment, a woman in a white dress sat down at the other end of the bench.

Puerh and Kevin were both stunned for a moment.

Because this woman seemed to appear out of thin air. When she came out, she stood in front of the bench, and in the blink of an eye, she sat down.

The alarm bells in Puerh and Kevin's hearts immediately rang. They were just out for some fresh air. In fact, the reason they stayed at home for a long time was not because Karun had imprisoned them, but because they knew very well that their current strength was not enough to deal with the risks they might encounter in the outside world. It was still safest for them to stay at home.

In order not to arouse suspicion, Puerh and Kevin instantly transformed into "competent" pets.

Miss Puerh held Puerh in her arms and started petting her.

Mr. Kevin held Kevin's legs and let him lie on his lap to play with him.

The bench was filled with the sounds of cats and dogs:

"Meow~"

"Woof~"

"Meow~"

"Woof~"

"Is she coming towards us?"

"It doesn't seem like it."

"Yeah, she doesn't seem to notice our difference."

"Well, let's continue pretending."

The woman took out a white feather and gently played with it in her palm.

"Meow~"

"Woof~"

"Is that a monster's feather?"

"Yes."

After sitting for a while, the woman stood up and walked towards the direction of the club.

When she walked away, Puerh and Kevin looked serious, their cat and dog eyes fixed on the woman's figure.

"You stupid dog, why do I have a feeling that she's going to that club?"

"Woof?"

"Yeah, could the radio fairy be in danger? The aura on that woman is so powerful."

"Woof."

"Let's go, let's inform the radio fairy. We can go around from the alley over there and enter the club through the side door!"

Immediately, Miss Puerh and Mr. Kevin started running. Miss Puerh carried Puerh on her shoulder, and Mr. Kevin carried the big golden retriever on his back.

They couldn't leave the puppets on the bench because once they were more than five meters away, they couldn't control the puppets anymore. By the time they came back, their puppets would have been sent to the morgue by kind-hearted passersby.

Arriving at the entrance of the club's side door, there stood a burly man with tattoos on his arms.

Miss Puerh immediately said, "We are friends of Alfred. We want to go in and see him."

The burly man crossed his arms in front of his chest and devoutly said, "Praise the Master."

Then, the man opened the door and made a gesture of invitation. "The Master should be in the office now. There's still half an hour before the lecture starts."

Miss Puerh and Mr. Kevin entered with their respective pets.

"Bang!"

Miss Puerh opened the door to the office, but Mr. Kevin couldn't stop in time and fell to the ground along with the dog.

In the office, Alfred was holding a pen and making revisions to his speech. There was a fair-skinned little girl standing beside him.

Miss Puerh shouted, "Radio fairy, a very powerful woman has come!"

"A powerful woman?" Alfred looked at the little girl beside him.

The little girl spoke, "It should be my sister coming to see me."

Puerh looked at the little girl, frowned slightly, and sensed that there was something wrong with her. She jumped off her puppet and pounced on the girl.

The girl instinctively raised her hand.

In the next moment, a white halo appeared in front of Puerh, shrinking and about to bind her.

Puerh dodged and changed her form, landing on Alfred's desk. A pair of cat paws began to knead, and a small fireball appeared.

At this moment, a terrifying aura suddenly descended. The white-clad woman appeared in front of the girl, her gaze coldly fixed on Puerh.

Puerh stared back at her.

Although she was currently a cat, Puerh Miss had never lost to anyone in terms of momentum.

The woman raised her hand, and Alfred spoke, "Alright, we're all on the same side."

"The same side?" Puerh turned her head to look at Alfred in confusion.

The girl walked around from behind the woman and looked at Puerh with a smile. "You're so cute, just like me, all fluffy."

As she spoke, there was a slight "click" sound from the girl, and soon, a white fluffy ball appeared on her shoulder. It hopped and also landed on the desk.

Puerh looked at the fluffy thing in front of her and asked in confusion, "What kind of ghost are you?"

"I'm called Ruimor, what about you?"

Puerh ignored its question and looked at Alfred, raising her paw and pointing at the woman in the white dress. "I think you should explain, otherwise, I'll go and report you."

"Ruemel and I have known each other for a long time. I used to be part of a loosely organized local demon organization in York City, but that organization disbanded after being heavily targeted by the Order of the Gods. That's when I met Ruemel.

Now, in the club I've formed, I am the president and Ruemel is the vice president. She is Anitta, and she has a symbiotic contract with Ruemel."

Puerh had heard about these things because Karun had the habit of sharing information with them.

Puerh felt that the reason the radio fairy made this white fluffball the vice president was to win over the woman behind it.

It felt similar to how their own Karun had joined Richard's team to win over his father.

Anitta reached out to grab Puerh, but Alfred blocked her and said, "It is my young master's symbiotic contract. Please respect it, just as I respect Ruemel."

"It, a symbiotic creature?" Anitta smiled. "Your young master really isn't picky, to choose such a weak symbiotic creature."

Puerh: "!!!"

"Woof woof woof!"

Kevin barked angrily at Anitta.

Alfred said sternly, "When speaking of my young master, please show the utmost respect. I don't want to say this a second time."

"Heh, without my help, your club wouldn't be able to operate."

"But this club was established for my young master."

Ruemel looked at Anitta with pleading eyes, hoping that her sister wouldn't conflict with Alfred.

Anitta said to Puerh, "I take back my previous joke and apologize for it."

Puerh turned away and didn't look at her.

Ruemel floated up and returned to her "body." The little girl regained her movements and said, "Alfred, it's time to start the meeting. Everyone should be here."

"Alright, Ruemel, help me maintain order at the meeting and reiterate the rules."

"Okay."

Ruemel held Anitta's hand and walked out of the office.

Alfred looked at Puerh sitting on the desk and said, "Thank you for coming to inform me with Kevin in such a hurry."

Puerh ignored him.

"Well, I'll go start the meeting. You and Kevin can come and listen."

After saying that, Alfred left the office.

Puerh sat on the desk with its tail hanging behind, its cat face drooping.

Kevin's front legs were on the desk, and he looked at Puerh on the table.

"You stupid dog, that woman said I'm the weakest symbiotic creature."

Kevin immediately shook his head.

Puerh raised its head, and in its amber-like eyes, a layer of mist was brewing:

"I'm so angry!"

"Woof woof woof!"

"In the past, if that woman dared to speak to me like that, I would have thrown her to the ground and slapped her, then stripped her clothes and hung them on the telephone pole!"

Puerh's two cat paws kept fidgeting with each other.

"Woof woof."

"I want to become stronger." Puerh took a deep breath and wiped away the mist in its eyes with its paw. "I want to fly with little Karun!"

"Woof!"

After adjusting its emotions, Puerh stood up again, and Kevin immediately returned to the ground, hopping around to signal it to come up.

Puerh jumped onto Kevin's back.

"Let's go see what the radio fairy will talk about."

As a cat for a hundred years, Puerh still retained the temperament of a young lady, but if it didn't know how to relieve and soothe its emotions, that black cat would have probably found a rope to hang itself in the Inmoleis family long ago.

Kevin carried Puerh to the meeting venue, where nearly thirty people were sitting, with most of them emitting the aura of demons. The ones not emitting any aura were demons who could hide their presence.

Anitta and Ruemel sat in the front row, and Kevin's gaze focused on Ruemel's figure, gradually deepening.

At this moment, Anitta seemed to sense something and turned her head to take a look. She saw Puerh riding on the golden retriever and casually sat back down.

Kevin stuck out its tongue and licked its lips, remembering this woman.

Alfred, now wearing a burgundy tight-fitting suit and glasses, stepped onto the stage. After a brief opening, Alfred picked up a chalk and wrote a word on the blackboard behind him: "God."

"God leads us forward, but have we ever thought about where God stands?

Does He stand at the end of this road?

Just like many people sitting in high-rise buildings on the main streets of York City, holding coffee in their hands while it's raining outside, they can drink coffee and watch the crowd below seeking shelter from the rain.

Or does He stand beside you, walking this road with you?

When it rains, when you are in a mess, the person walking in front of you hands you an umbrella to share or pulls you to the nearest place to take shelter.

If you were to choose, which kind of God would you hope for?

Alright, I'll leave this question for you to continue thinking about when you go back. When we gather next time, I will organize everyone to exchange ideas.

Now, what we want to discuss is the topic left from the last meeting: What attitude should we have towards the road ahead of us?

This road can take many forms, whether it's in cultivation, in life, in pollution, in the past, or in the future.

Attitude is a stable psychological tendency that individuals hold towards specific objects, such as people, ideas, emotions, or events. This psychological tendency contains subjective evaluations and behavioral tendencies.

A correct attitude can help us constantly adjust our direction while walking on the road, so that we don't deviate from the main line of this road.

It is our good friend because it can constantly urge us."

Alfred turned around and wrote a line on the blackboard:

"【Attitude - How to catch the breath of the earth.】"
