Chapter 27 – I didn't see it, I didn't see it

"Chen Shu!!" Fang Ke shouted angrily.

"Forget I said anything, teacher, please continue."

Chen Shu fell silent and turned to discuss historical knowledge with Teacher Yan.

Fang Ke sighed, feeling a lot of his frustration dissipate, and continued speaking.

"The three of you have a chance. There are still twenty days until the final exams. Your academic scores are fine; the only issue is the Beast Class."

"During this time, try to purchase some potions. If you can afford it, check the black market for any Beast Orbs."

In Nanjiang City, only one shop is authorized to sell Beast Orbs, backed by the government, but the prices are exorbitant and the supply can't meet the demand.

Fang Ke could only hope they'd have some luck at the black market, as anything could turn up there.

"Scoring higher in the Beast Class will significantly boost your ranking."

Wang Meng and Li Zixuan nodded, determined to have their families help purchase the potions.

Although it's a significant expense, their families are well-off enough to manage it for now.

Not just them, but the top students in the grade are also striving to excel, hoping to stand out in the finals and secure a spot in the Senior Year Special Training Class.

Xia Bing, however, looked troubled and remained silent.

"Xia Bing, is there a problem?" Fang Ke asked with concern, as she was the top student in the class and deserved special attention.

Xia Bing shook her head without saying much.

"Alright, you all have a good chance of entering the Senior Year Special Training Class. The teachers have high hopes for you." Fang Ke didn't press further and let the three return to the classroom.

Chen Shu also finished his conversation with the history teacher, who seemed satisfied and convinced by him.

"Mr. Fang, don't you have faith in me?" Chen Shu asked.

"As long as you maintain your rank, that's enough."

Fang Ke shook his head, suddenly remembering something.

"Don't embarrass yourself in the finals. After the poor results in the college entrance exam, the school leaders are upset and might crack down on underperformers, possibly sending you back to the Regular Class to avoid dragging down the Beast Class's graduation rate."

"Got it." Chen Shu waved his hand and returned to the classroom.

Bottom of the class? That would never happen again in this lifetime.

Chen Shu returned to the classroom and began to absorb the newfound knowledge of Beast Materials in his mind.

The various rare materials from the Dimensional Realm, their appearances, characteristics, growth environments, and effects all surfaced in his mind.

"This world is even more magical than I imagined."

The rare materials and elixirs in his mind opened his eyes, and this was just high school knowledge.

Soon, the school bell rang, and Chen Shu stretched, ready to go home and rest.

"Chen Pi!"

Zhang Dali walked in from outside.

"Aren't you attending evening self-study?" Chen Shu asked, puzzled, as Regular Class students usually had evening self-study.

"No, I'm too hungry. Treat me to dinner tonight," Zhang Dali said.

"Perfect, let's go."

Chen Shu still had the 100,000 yuan bonus from the Spirit Suppression Bureau, which he kept in his bag.

The two left the school, arms around each other's shoulders, and headed to the snack street in Nanjiang City.

After eating and drinking their fill, it was already 7 PM.

"Let's head back."

The two happily rode their bikes, ready to return to their neighborhood.

As they passed a shop called 'Beast Home,' Chen Shu suddenly stopped.

Such shops existed in every city, primarily to customize growth paths for Contracted Spirits, advising on suitable diets and potions to maximize their abilities.

The staff inside were called trainers, and their fees were high, only affordable to wealthy families.

Not far from the shop, several people were gathered.

Two men in black suits surrounded a beautiful girl.

"Miss Wang, when will you repay the money you owe us?" one man asked, arms crossed, with a harsh tone.

Wang Qinghan remained silent. She owed them 100,000 yuan, and repaying debts was only right.

"I don't have that much right now, but I can pay it off soon."

At that moment, a young girl with a backpack ran over.

"Sister, I finished my homework. When are we going home?"

The girl was about ten years old, looking adorable and delicate.

Wang Qinghan was an intern at 'Beast Home,' earning a decent salary, but she spent all her savings and went into debt to afford her sister's Awakening Baptism.

The baptism was expensive, even at the lowest level, beyond what ordinary people could afford.

Its purpose was to increase the likelihood of awakening a high-potential Contracted Spirit.

The men's eyes shifted to the girl behind Xia Bing.

"Such a cute little girl, is she your sister?"

One man reached out to touch the girl's head, but Wang Qinghan blocked him.

"This has nothing to do with her. Don't even think about touching my sister," Wang Qinghan warned coldly.

"Now you're scared?"

The man said menacingly.

"If you don't repay the money soon, I'll erase all your sister's homework with an eraser."

Wang Qinghan was taken aback: "???"

"Two useless idiots."

Not far away, a man with a buzz cut smoked under a tree, cursing.

He walked over and smacked the two men on the head.

"Useless fools, can't even collect a debt."

The buzz cut man turned to Wang Qinghan.

"With interest, it's 200,000 yuan. I expect 30,000 a month. You're an employee at Beast Home, earning at least 30,000 a month," he said firmly.

In the distance, Chen Shu and Zhang Dali parked their shared bikes.

Options appeared before Chen Shu.

[Option 1: Cover your eyes and pass by, muttering, "I didn't see anything, I didn't see anything...". Reward: Skill Book: Violent Sit Kill]

[Option 2: Take decisive action and help the girl out of her predicament. Reward: Medium Beast Power]

[Option 3: Join the evil forces and pressure the girl to repay the money. Reward: Title: Blackened, Effect: Your Contracted Spirit's personality becomes evil and cruel]

Chen Shu hesitated for a moment, then walked forward resolutely.

"Chen Pi, those three don't look like good people. Don't get involved," Zhang Dali said.

If they were ordinary students, they might step in, but dealing with such people required careful consideration.

Chen Shu didn't respond and continued walking forward.

"Sigh, fine, I'll go crazy with you!" Zhang Dali rolled up his sleeves, ready to act.

"Kid?" The buzz cut man noticed the two approaching.

They clearly weren't coming with good intentions.
