Chapter 19 – Add you as a friend

A quick look at "pawread dot com" will leave you more fulfilled.

After accepting the task, Wu Shaochen glanced at his attributes and added all 15 free attribute points from the last three levels to agility. To defeat the enemy, his speed must surpass theirs; otherwise, it would be impossible. His strategy relied on kiting, so speed was essential.

With the 15 points added, his agility reached 60, and his movement speed hit 67.

Wu Shaochen calculated in his mind: his speed was now 67, while the Silver Wolf King only had a speed of 40, even with a 50% increase, it would only be 60. However, the second skill had a range of 10 meters, making it unavoidable. The 130% ignore defense could instantly take away 715 health points, leaving him severely wounded. It was manageable as long as he didn't die; he could always drink a potion. The real fear was getting hit by a normal attack after a finishing blow, followed by the Fierce Wolf's Howl, which would be game over. If he couldn't solve the problem of the second skill plus normal attack, there was no point in attempting the fight.

Sigh, stuck in the Novice Village with no way to improve his strength, what a mess.

Wu Shaochen looked troubled, glancing at the equally distressed old man beside him, and impulsively said, "Village Chief, the Silver Wolf King is too strong for me to handle. What should I do?"

To his surprise, the Village Chief seriously considered it and said, "Hmm, with the current strength of adventurers, dealing with the Silver Wolf King is indeed too difficult for you. Here's what we'll do: take this letter to the pharmacy and ask the Apothecary Boss to give you some of his stash. This should enhance your survival ability, but whether you can defeat the Silver Wolf King is up to you." With that, the Village Chief handed Wu Shaochen a letter.

Taking the letter, Wu Shaochen blinked in surprise. Was this really happening? He quickly took the letter and rushed to the pharmacy.

At the pharmacy, he found the Boss and handed him the letter, saying, "Hello, Boss. The Village Chief sent me here to buy some survival potions. Could you show me what you have?"

The Apothecary Boss took the letter, read it for a while, and then said helplessly, "That old guy still remembers my stash, huh."

He then went into the back room and returned with a box, opening it in front of Wu Shaochen. "Hurry up and choose, but let me tell you, these potions aren't cheap. Even with the Village Chief's letter, if you don't have money, it's useless."

Wu Shaochen quickly looked over, and the functions and prices of each potion appeared before him:

[Instant Recovery Potion]: Instantly restores 1000 health points, cooldown time 10 seconds, price: 10 Silver Coins.

[Attack Potion]: Increases physical attack by 30% for 30 minutes, price: 50 Silver Coins.

[Health Potion]: Increases health by 30% for 30 minutes, price: 50 Silver Coins.

[Speed Potion]: Increases speed by 30% for 30 minutes, price: 50 Silver Coins.

...

Seeing these potions, Wu Shaochen's eyes widened. These potions were usually unavailable here; the Novice Village pharmacy only sold Red Potions (small, medium, large) and Blue Potions (small, medium, large) for continuous health recovery.

However, seeing the prices of these potions made Wu Shaochen's mouth twitch. Without having defeated the Boar King, he could only look at these potions. "Damn, they're expensive!"

But no matter how expensive, he had to buy them if he wanted to defeat the Silver Wolf King. Otherwise, he couldn't leave the Novice Village. If he waited for other players to catch up and join the fight, he would lose his advantage.

Gritting his teeth, he spent a total of 5 Gold Coins to buy 50 bottles of [Instant Recovery Potion], and then spent another 5 Gold Coins on 10 bottles of [Health Potion]. He felt that these potions might not be available even in the Main City, so it was definitely worth stocking up now. Watching 10 Gold Coins disappear from his backpack made Wu Shaochen's heart ache. Many wealthy players were buying Copper Coins for a dollar each, and they were hard to come by. These 10 Gold Coins were equivalent to 100,000 yuan.

After buying the potions, Wu Shaochen spent another 50 Silver Coins on 50 bottles of large Red Potions, which restored 100 health points per second for 10 seconds. These were necessary because he couldn't afford to use [Instant Recovery Potion] all the time.

With the potions in hand, Wu Shaochen felt a surge of confidence. The [Health Potion] increasing health by 30% was actually useless against the Silver Wolf King, as even with the extra health, he couldn't withstand a normal attack plus a howl. So there was no need to use it.

As long as he had the [Instant Recovery Potion], he could instantly restore his health. If he took a normal attack and saw the Silver Wolf King about to use a skill, he could immediately drink a potion to restore his health, and it would be fine. Skills like the howl, with a wide area of effect, couldn't possibly have no wind-up time; otherwise, it would be impossible to fight.

Just as Wu Shaochen was about to head to Silver Wolf Valley, he suddenly saw the veiled woman approaching him again.

Wu Shaochen's mouth twitched, "Why am I running into her again?"

"Nice to see you again," Su Muxue said with a slight smile as she looked at Wu Shaochen.

"Are you stalking me?" Wu Shaochen asked suspiciously.

Su Muxue didn't respond, but it wasn't a coincidence that she ran into Wu Shaochen again. She had instructed her subordinates to notify her when they saw him.

"You're Chen Feng, aren't you?" Su Muxue suddenly asked.

"Why do you suspect I'm Chen Feng?" Wu Shaochen asked, curious about this. He knew she had been suspicious of him for a while, but he couldn't figure out what had given him away.

Su Muxue didn't beat around the bush and said directly, "The first time I saw you, you were coming from the Wild Boar Forest. At that time, everyone was still at levels 1-2, but you were at least level 4 because I sensed your speed was at least 25. Most people wouldn't notice, but my intuition is always accurate. The last time I saw you, I tried to add you as a friend, but it said strangers couldn't add you, just like when I tried to add Chen Feng. So many coincidences made me suspicious."

"Uh, alright," Wu Shaochen said helplessly. He had forgotten about the speed factor. At the time, he was focused on maximizing his advantage and naturally didn't walk slowly. However, most people wouldn't notice a slight increase in speed, but he hadn't expected this woman to be so perceptive.

"So you really are Chen Feng?" Su Muxue asked, her eyes wide with surprise. Although she had suspected it, confirming it still filled her with excitement.

"If you say so," Wu Shaochen replied reluctantly.

"Can we be friends? Don't worry, I won't tell anyone," Su Muxue asked cautiously.

Wu Shaochen looked at the woman in front of him and suddenly smiled, "Sure, but only if you let me see what you look like. If you're pretty enough, I'll add you."

"Okay!" Su Muxue nodded. She wore the veil only to avoid trouble.

She reached up and removed the veil, revealing a beautiful face that made Wu Shaochen's eyes light up. In Oracle, appearances were exact replicas of real life, with no beauty filters or makeup, so it was all natural. This woman's beauty definitely rated a 9 out of 10.

After removing the veil, Su Muxue asked again, "Is this okay now?"

"Alright," Wu Shaochen nodded. She had been sincere, and refusing again would be petty. He sent a friend request, as he had set his account to not allow strangers to add him, so he could only add others.

"Ding, player Chen Feng requests to add you as a friend. Do you accept?" Hearing the system prompt, Su Muxue thought, "It really is him." She quickly accepted, and her friends list showed a new friend: Chen Feng LV10. Su Muxue's eyes widened, "Level 10!!!"
