Chu Suosuo covered her face, sulking as she followed Chu Mochen out of the restaurant.
As soon as they stepped outside, she began to complain, "Are you really my brother? My face got slapped by Su Hua like this, and instead of standing up for me, you just dragged me away?"
Chu Mochen turned to look at her face.
Five bright red finger marks stood out on her fair little face.
His expression darkened as he asked, "What did you say to her to make her hit you so hard?"
Chu Suosuo huffed, "I just said her grandmother died at the perfect time, just to stop her from getting a divorce. Is that too much?"
She had intended to provoke Su Hua into hitting her, hoping to gain sympathy from Gu Beixian.
Unfortunately, this time Su Hua struck first, and Gu Beixian didn’t side with her.
Chu Suosuo's plan backfired, leaving her frustrated and angry.
Chu Mochen smirked slightly, "No wonder she hit you. If it were me, I'd hit you too. You should tone it down next time."
Chu Suosuo shot him a sideways glance, "Sometimes I really doubt you're my real brother, always siding with Su Hua."
"You were in the wrong. You and Gu Beixian broke up a long time ago. You shouldn't still be holding onto fantasies about him, let alone trying to marry him."
Chu Suosuo snorted, "They were going to get divorced anyway. Besides, Brother Beixian found someone like Su Hua who looks like me, which means he still has feelings for me."
Chu Mochen stopped and scrutinized her for a moment, "Maybe he just likes your type, but it doesn't have to be you."
Chu Suosuo glared at him.
Chu Mochen added, "Honestly, Su Hua is prettier than you and has a better temperament. She's graceful, fresh, and has an air of scholarly elegance. She's pleasant to look at."
He tugged at her latest Paris haute couture dress, "Look at you, from head to toe, you just reek of money."
Chu Suosuo raised her fist to hit him, "Chu Mochen, I want to sever our sibling relationship! How dare you say that country bumpkin is prettier than me! Are your eyes broken?"
Chu Mochen grabbed her wrist and said sternly, "Stop it."
They got into the car.
Chu Mochen started the engine and began to reverse.
Chu Suosuo fastened her seatbelt and said, "I spent some money to find the nurse who was in charge of Su Hua's grandmother that day and got some information. The nurse said her grandmother's health wasn't great, but she could have lived another two or three months. On the day they were supposed to divorce, the old lady sent everyone out of the room and secretly turned off her own life support. See, these small-time people are so cunning. To stop Su Hua and Brother Beixian from divorcing, the old lady played the suicide card."
Chu Mochen was silent for a moment, "Back then, Su Hua married Gu Beixian to pay for her grandmother's medical bills. Now the old lady committed suicide to fulfill her wish. The bond between that grandmother and granddaughter is unusually deep."
Chu Suosuo didn't see it that way.
She said indignantly, "If it weren't for the old lady dying at just the right time, they would have divorced long ago. Once Su Hua leaves, Brother Beixian would eventually get back together with me. It's all that dead old lady's fault for ruining my plans!"
"Respect the dead, watch your words," Chu Mochen said as he stepped on the gas and accelerated.
Chu Suosuo turned to look at him, her eyes curious, "Brother, do you like Su Hua?"
Chu Mochen scolded, "What nonsense are you talking about? How could I like her?"
Chu Suosuo pinched his earlobe, "If you don't like her, then why are your ears turning red?"
Chu Mochen swatted her hand away, "They're red because you pinched them. Don't joke about this, it's not funny."
Chu Suosuo rested her elbow on the car window, propping her chin in her hand, staring at him for a while before suddenly getting an idea.
She leaned closer to him, coquettishly saying, "Brother, dear brother, why don't you use your charm to seduce Su Hua?"
Chu Mochen's face darkened, "If you keep talking nonsense, get out of the car!"
Meanwhile, in another car.
Gu Beixian was driving with Su Hua, heading straight down Riverside Avenue.
Su Hua sensed something was off and asked, "This isn't the way home, is it?"
"No, I'm taking you somewhere."
"Where to?"
"You'll know when we get there."
An hour later, Gu Beixian parked the car by the river.
The wind was fierce, the river roared, and dense woods surrounded them.
The area was desolate, not a soul in sight.
Su Hua looked out at the turbulent river through the car window and asked, puzzled, "What are we doing here?"
"Get out of the car," Gu Beixian said as he opened the door and stepped out.
Su Hua followed him out.
Gu Beixian handed her the car keys, "Help me get something from the trunk."
Su Hua took the keys, confused, and walked to the back of the car.
When she opened the trunk, she was pleasantly surprised, her eyes filled with amazement.
The trunk was packed with red roses.
Legendary roses imported from the Netherlands.
The petals were as large as a bowl, with a velvety texture, a captivating red, vibrant and dripping with allure, with unique vintage charred edges, both dazzling and elegant.
So beautiful.
Gu Beixian leaned lazily against the car, one hand in his pocket, his handsome and spirited figure relaxed. He looked at the stunned Su Hua and asked casually, "Do you like them?"
"Of course, I do!"
Su Hua's eyes sparkled with joy as she gently caressed the rose petals, feeling the tiny fuzz on them, tingling.
Her heart felt like a gentle breeze had passed through, tickling and making her very happy.
This was the first time Gu Beixian had given her flowers.
Gu Beixian said calmly, "I didn't know what kind of flowers you liked. The florist said red roses represent sincere love, so I chose them."
"Sincere love," those two simple words were more moving than the entire trunk of roses.
Su Hua's heart swelled with emotion. She looked up at him, her eyes bright and full of affection.
Gu Beixian felt a fire ignite in him as he met her watery eyes.
He took a step forward, grabbed her wrist, pulled her into his arms, turned her face, and kissed her, his hands exploring under her clothes.
Su Hua pressed his hand, "No."
She had never tried being intimate with him outdoors.
Gu Beixian bent down and scooped her up like a child, carrying her to the front of the car.
Su Hua wrapped her arms around his neck, laughing, "What are you doing?"
"I want to."
Su Hua's smile froze.
Thinking about what he was about to do, her ears turned slightly red.
Gu Beixian held her with one hand, opened the car door, and placed her inside.
He leaned over her, kissing down from her earlobe.
Su Hua resisted slightly.
He held her shoulders, preventing her from moving, and began kissing her lips.
As they paused to breathe, Su Hua panted softly, "Why not go home? Why here?"
Gu Beixian kissed her neck, saying nonchalantly, "I heard doing it outdoors makes it easier to have a son."
Su Hua couldn't help but laugh, "I didn't expect you to prefer sons over daughters. What if I have a daughter?"
"It's not me, I don't care. As long as it's yours, I love them all. But Grandpa and Grandma want a boy. If you have a son first, you won't have to go through it again. If it's a girl, you'll have to suffer once more."
Su Hua chuckled, "You really know how to care for someone."
"You're the only one, who else would I care for?" His breath was hot and damp against her ear and neck.
Su Hua felt a tickle in her heart.
This man, usually so aloof and abstinent, always had an aura that kept strangers and even acquaintances at bay.
In their three years of marriage, they had always been respectful to each other, and he rarely spoke, let alone sweet-talked.
Recently, he seemed to have suddenly opened up, showering her with sweet words, making her feel both itchy and soft.
Su Hua was a bit unaccustomed to it.

Her clothes were lifted, and her skin touched the cool leather seat.
A strange excitement rose in her heart.
Su Hua abandoned her restraint, wrapping her arms around Gu Beixian's waist, her soft lips returning his kiss, whispering, "How did you get so good at this? You seem like a pro."
What she really wanted to ask was, did you and Chu Suosuo do this too?
Gu Beixian guessed her thoughts.
As a playful punishment, he bit her shoulder lightly.
He whispered, "I never got this far with her. You're my first woman, remember to take responsibility for me."
Such words were usually spoken by women to men.
Coming from a man's mouth, they were particularly teasing, yet a bit amusing.
Su Hua couldn't help but laugh, promising, "Alright, as long as you don't leave, I won't either."
