The Death Canopy is a poor man's version of the Undead Plague.

All living creatures within the range of the canopy will suffer a continuous deduction of their life value until it is exhausted, at which point they will be rapidly transformed into the undead.

However, the rubbish part of this spell is that, apart from the life deduction, the most that living creatures in the canopy can suffer is a slight reduction in speed, there are no other negative effects.
