Vol.1 - Chapter 013 – Dimensionality reduction strike, killing three birds with one stone

The stench of blood at Crocodile Beach lingered for three days.

Two days ago, a battle here claimed the lives of over thirty crocodiles—eighteen from the Su Family's Crocodiles and twelve from the Green Crocodiles. Many more were wounded.

After the war, three more injured Su Family's Crocodiles succumbed and died.

No crocodile mourned for them; after the fight, everything returned to normal, with only the wounded suffering alone.

The only victor was Su He, who truly became the king of Crocodile Beach after this battle.

Initially, only two crocodiles would wait for Su He to enjoy the prey first, then it became twenty or thirty, and eventually hundreds.

By today, all the crocodiles knew that the prey must first be offered to the king, and that sunbathing rock was exclusively his.

They could indeed be renamed the Su Family's Crocodiles.

War is truly an accelerator of evolution.

Su He's internal injuries had completely healed, thanks to the restorative powers brought by evolution, leaving him unsure of where he was even hurt.

With the offerings from the crocodiles, Su He's physique was steadily improving.

Everything was developing in a positive direction, except for one issue: the Green Crocodiles hadn't left and were stationed in the waters six or seven miles away.

For crocodiles, this distance was like having their mouths directly in the Su Family's Crocodiles' food pot.

It made Su He feel as if he was sitting on pins and needles!

The thoughts of beasts are straightforward; they were waiting for Su He to be alone. While Su He stayed at Crocodile Beach, they dared not approach easily.

Su He wanted to lead the Su Family's Crocodiles to attack, but feared the casualties would be high, and even he couldn't guarantee survival between the jaws of two giant crocodiles.

Moreover—accepting tributes was one thing, but would the Su Family's Crocodiles agree to go to war?

After eating, Su He grabbed a rabbit and submerged into the water, swimming towards Snake Valley under the cover of the lake.

Avoiding the main entrance of the valley, he submerged and swam through a tunnel.

Su He was eager to learn demon arts.

To defeat two giant Green Crocodiles without injury using only his physical body, he needed to consume a great supplement and undergo a deep sleep evolution.

But with the Green Crocodiles around, Su He couldn't even sleep with both eyes closed, let alone sleep peacefully.

Unable to kill those two Green Crocodiles, Su He couldn't eat or sleep in peace.

Last time he visited Snake Valley, he was too impolite, so this time Su He brought a gift. The rabbit had been enhanced to double its quality by dice, making it a perfect gift.

Su He swam through the tunnel, emerged from the water, and happily looked at Green Snake. Before he could speak, a sharp sound pierced the air.

Despicable!

Su He quickly retracted into his shell.

With a crisp sound, a water arrow shattered against Su He's turtle shell, the immense force causing it to tremble underwater.

Demon arts!

Su He caught a glimpse of Green Snake coiled on a willow tree, spitting out a water arrow. The force of the water arrow was no less than the sharp teeth of a crocodile's bite.

It had mastered a new demon art, how unfair was the Demon Morphing Fruit!

"Whoosh!"

Another water arrow shot towards Su He's neck; Green Snake wasn't driving him away, it was trying to kill him! Su He turned and met it with his shell.

The turtle shell emitted a sound like a wooden fish being struck.

"Hiss hiss!" Green Snake let out a snake's cry.

This was the first meaningful sound it made since Su He met it, roughly meaning: kill the intruder.

Countless venomous snakes' hisses echoed.

Damn it!

Su He spat out the rabbit and shouted in the gentlest voice, "Ang~"

Gift! Communication! Friends!

"Hiss hiss!"

Peering at the treasure, die!

That was probably the meaning, thinking Su He was eyeing its treasure or lover.

Though true, I only wanted to share, not to steal your Demon Morphing Fruit. Who doesn't have one? It's something that will be mastered sooner or later, just wanted to learn from you earlier, why bother?

"Thud!" Another sharp arrow shot over.

"Hiss hiss!"

This snake cry was filled with even more malice.

To the death!

Crazy?

Watching the giant python swimming rapidly towards him, Su He flicked his tail and re-entered the tunnel, swimming back to Crocodile Beach with some frustration.

The snake's mind was too small; Su He had only met it three times, always polite, even bringing it a rabbit, yet it wanted to fight to the death?

Animals don't lie, Green Snake harbored great hostility towards Su He!

The previously restrained Green Snake now wanted to fight to the death. Those dozen giant pythons were probably newly subdued by Green Snake, just to target Su He?

How absurd!

Why do I have so many grudges? Do I have a disaster-attracting physique?

Surrounded by a wolf pack for half a month at the small pond, escaped only to fight crocodiles for another half month, finally subdued them, and then a group of Green Crocodiles appeared. Tried to make a friend, even brought a gift, yet Green Snake wanted to fight to the death.

Who did I offend?

Emerging from the tunnel, swimming towards Crocodile Beach, the air carried the faint rotten stench of Demon Morphing Fruit from the Green Crocodiles.

It was unpleasant.

As Su He swam, he suddenly realized.

Could it be that Green Snake misunderstood? Su He had killed a giant Green Crocodile, and the rotten stench clinging to him made Green Snake think Su He was a predator hunting demon beasts?

What an injustice, Su He wanted to kill those Green Crocodiles even more. As long as they lived, Su He couldn't rest easy!

This misunderstanding was huge, it needed to be resolved. If only Green Snake had gained spiritual intelligence, it would be easier to appease, maybe with a hero saving the beauty scenario...

Su He gradually stopped moving.

To the east, a group of crocodiles eyed him hungrily, and to the west, a Green Snake with demon arts wanted to fight to the death.

Wonderful!

Suddenly, Su He turned and swam towards the waters where the Green Crocodiles were, not approaching, just letting his scent spread.

After a moment, a Green Crocodile, dozing with only its head above water, suddenly opened its eyes and looked around in panic.

It suddenly smelled the turtle's scent, thinking the turtle was leading a crocodile pack to attack. After searching, it only saw Su He alone in the distant sea.

The air was still for a moment. The turtle seemed to notice them and turned to flee.

Crocodiles couldn't think too much, instinctively not wanting the turtle to escape.

"Grr—" Two giant Green Crocodiles roared simultaneously, leading all the Green Crocodiles in pursuit.

In the water, a turtle couldn't match the speed of a crocodile.

Chase!

Kill!

Escape!

The Green Crocodiles pursued, and one giant Green Crocodile even led a few others to block Su He's path back to Crocodile Beach.

Unfortunately, the turtle, in a panic, dove into a tunnel at the lake's bottom and escaped.

The leading Green Crocodile found this normal, a turtle should flee and hide when hunted.

It led the Green Crocodiles into the tunnel. Following it, they hadn't emerged from the water when they heard the turtle's roar ahead.

Ang~

Run! The treasure thief is here!

Su He leaped out of the water, greeted by a water arrow.

He didn't care, retracting his head and desperately running ashore—this wasn't an act, with nearly twenty crocodiles chasing him, one of them a ten-meter giant, any turtle would be scared witless.

Before Green Snake could shoot a second water arrow, the Green Crocodiles had already leaped out of the water, the stench of Demon Morphing Fruit overwhelming.

Green Snake immediately understood the situation, spitting out a thick fog that covered a large area of water.

Su He was enveloped in the fog, unable to discern anything beyond a foot away. Unable to see or smell, he could only hear.

The fog was non-toxic but blocked vision and smell—only affecting outsiders.

Green Snake hissed, and giant pythons slid into the fog. Their target was clear, the Green Crocodiles in the water, obviously unaffected by the fog.

The sounds of struggle and roars echoed.

The giant pythons couldn't harm Su He, but crocodiles lacked hard shells, and once constricted by a python, death was only a matter of time.

Smack!

In the fog, a crocodile tail struck Su He, who turned and bit it, shaking it with all his might.

Crack!

The sound of bones breaking was clear, the crocodile thrown onto the shore, howling and struggling until it lay still.

Having taken down one, Su He lay still, the fog obscuring everything, even submerging to look up only revealed half the scene, too limiting.

At this moment, a great battle raged in the lake, the water roaring like cannons, and Su He didn't want to get involved. This was Snake Valley's war.

Old Crocodile's cries mingled with snake hisses.

The sound of water being slapped and fighting was everywhere.

Su He listened intently, and suddenly the fog before him cleared—not disappeared, but no longer affecting Su He, while the Green Crocodiles remained blind and scentless.

Green Snake had lifted its restriction.

On the shore, Green Snake was coiled around the ten-meter giant crocodile, trying to strangle it. The giant crocodile rolled, smashing Green Snake against the rocks.

Green Snake was bleeding profusely.

Fragile, couldn't even withstand rocks!

Green Snake was in pain but dared not let go, as another crocodile nearby bit a giant python in half, making Green Snake anxiously call out.

"Hiss hiss!"

Green Snake issued a cry for help, wanting Su He to join the fight and assist the other snakes.

Su He, however, ignored it, instead swimming to Green Snake's side, biting the hind leg of the giant crocodile it was constricting, and twisting in the opposite direction.

Crunch—tear!

A leg was torn off by Su He.
