Chapter 99 – Don't mention any personal grudges

Gao Guang really wanted to hear what the professionals had to say, but John kept talking on the walkie-talkie and occupied the communication frequency, making it impossible for him to speak.

Finally, John finished speaking, and just as Gao Guang was about to make Mike shut up in frustration, the Hound spoke up.

"There is only one road behind the Lille Hotel. I know where he will pass. I will go ahead and wait for the Fox. Caps, catch up from behind! Over."

Patrolov played a trick of the Golden Cicada shedding its shell. If he succeeded, he would have shaken off the pursuers. But he didn't succeed and ended up exposing his own route completely.

The Hound followed, and Gao Guang urgently said through the walkie-talkie, "Beast, come back quickly!"

Mike hurriedly ran back, and John parked by the roadside.

After the two got back in the car, John immediately said, "There must be someone in the hotel lobby who will assist Patrolov. If someone had chased him in just now, it would have been exposed. But now, no one is exposed, so Patrolov shouldn't take any anti-tracking measures anymore."

Gao Guang curiously asked, "Do you know the Hound? Are they one person or a team?"

John awkwardly twisted his neck and whispered, "The Hound is one person. I learned my tracking skills, um, from him. Actually, he didn't teach me, we just worked together, and I learned a thing or two."

That's how it is.

But Mike was curious and asked, "Why didn't you say it earlier?"

Gao Guang knew the reason. John must have made some kind of oath in front of the Hound, saying that he would never deal with people involved in war again or something like that, and now he felt embarrassed.

"It's a useless question, don't ask."

Gao Guang interrupted Mike's question and whispered, "What should we do next? Should we follow them?"

"The Hound calls Caps. The Fox is heading westward. Over."

The Hound no longer called Gao Guang, but directly called John, but John remained indifferent and showed no intention of responding.

After a few more minutes, the Hound suddenly said, "The Fox has returned to its den. Over."

Gao Guang looked at John, and John let out a long sigh and whispered, "Alright, we found them!"

Gao Guang looked confused and said, "Really? Why didn't the Hound tell us the exact address? Does he want to shake us off?"

If the Hound saw where Patrolov's car went, it would basically determine Gryaev's hiding place. What's next? He could simply not let Gao Guang and the others get close and just call Danny and give him the exact location.

But if Gao Guang and the others didn't participate in what was to come, they would earn less money.

"The Hound knows the rules, and now there are only two of them. How could they deliberately conceal it?"

Sure enough, just as John finished speaking, the Hound continued, "The Fox has arrived at a residential house. We can't get close. They have already left. There is a Walmart nearby. Meet at the Walmart parking lot. Over."

Since the location was reported, there was no need to say more. Gao Guang navigated, and John drove. After a few minutes, they arrived directly at the supermarket parking lot.

A car flashed its lights, and John parked the car and immediately the Hound's voice came from Gao Guang's walkie-talkie, "Don't get out of the car. Just talk in the car. The Fox's car is parked in front of a house. I saw him get out of the car and go in directly through the rearview mirror. The location has been confirmed. I can't park, so I let my companion get off the car and hide to monitor."

John pondered for a moment, then took the walkie-talkie and said, "Is one person enough?"

Parking the car near where Patrolov got off was convenient for surveillance, but Gryaev must have arranged someone to stand guard. If he was discovered, it would be over.

They could only leave someone far away to watch. If Gryaev wanted to escape, it would be impossible to intercept him. They could only track him again.

The Hound whispered, "Danny's men will be here soon. Wait until we have enough manpower, then we can take action. It won't take long. Our task now is to wait here until reinforcements arrive. If the Fox tries to escape again, our two cars can continue to track him. If we are exposed now, then we will have no chance."

It had been over ten minutes since they called Danny, and the reinforcements should have arrived in Tijuana by now. They just didn't know how long it would take for them to arrive here.

After a moment of thought, John whispered, "Okay, let's wait here."

After saying that, John looked at Gao Guang and whispered, "Gryaev has skilled people around him, and Patrolov also has many skilled subordinates. We don't know how many people they have, but don't be impulsive later. Let others go first, and we will put on our bulletproof vests in the car."

It was particularly difficult and uncomfortable to put on a bulletproof vest in the car, but there was no other way. Although it was late at night, they couldn't just start putting on bulletproof vests in the supermarket parking lot. Even if they weren't seen by Gryaev's people, it wouldn't look good if they were seen by passersby.

They couldn't turn on the lights either, so they had to put on the bulletproof vests in the dark. It only took a few minutes outside, but it took ten minutes in the car.

"I must buy a big car! Even if it's just for the convenience of putting on clothes, I have to buy a big car!"

Mike, who was 1.9 meters tall, was the most frustrated. He couldn't stretch his arms or open his hands. He struggled for a long time but couldn't put on a bulletproof vest.

Just then, the Hound suddenly said, "Our people have arrived!"

Four cars quickly entered the parking lot. The first two were MPVs, followed by a van and a sedan. Judging from the number of cars, there were quite a few people.

The Hound's car flashed its lights again, and all the cars drove over. They didn't even park in the designated parking spaces and squeezed together.

From the moment they discovered where Patrolov got off the car to now, less than twenty minutes had passed. In total, it was only half an hour. Danny said he would give him twenty-five minutes, and he was still on time.

Danny got out of the sedan, and the Hound also got out of the car. He was a bald man in his forties and looked quite sleazy.John didn't get out of the car, he looked at Gao Guang and said, "Are you expecting me to go talk to him if you don't?"

So Gao Guang got out of the car too.

Danny's face showed no signs of fatigue, only excitement. He whispered to the hound, "Where is the person?"

"He's nearby. I'm not sure if Grayev is there, but Patrov definitely is."

"What kind of building?"

"An ordinary residential house, single-story, in a civilian community. I'm not sure how big the area inside is, but according to the general standard here, it should be about 200 square meters."

Except for Danny, no one got out of the car. He stroked his chin in thought, then whispered, "I brought fourteen people. It's a bit few. If we could wait another two hours, we would have sixty people to take action. That would greatly increase our chances."

There must be a few people around Grayev, and it's uncertain whether Patrov has arranged people here. But it's still very risky for a dozen people to forcefully attack Grayev's hideout.

The hound pondered for a moment and said, "There's no possibility of a sudden attack. If we launch a strong attack... we indeed have too few people now. Regardless of the outcome, I think there might be casualties."

"But we have enough people to monitor now. Hmm, change into casual clothes, monitor all around the target, and launch a strong attack when the main force arrives."

Danny made a quick decision. He turned around, waved at the cars behind him, and was about to speak when the walkie-talkie in Gao Guang's hand made a sound.

"I think the fox is about to leave the nest. Two people just came out. They are walking along the road in both directions. I think they are worried that the area around the nest is no longer safe. I have to leave..."

Hearing the words from the walkie-talkie, the hound said helplessly, "It might be troublesome."

Danny looked stunned, then said helplessly, "Patrov brought bad news. Grayev is about to run. Ah, we can't wait for the main force to arrive."

After saying that, Danny suddenly said, "There's no chance of approaching stealthily. Everyone! Everyone get on! Block their way with the cars, then launch a direct attack!"

The windows of the cars were all lowered. There was no need to pretend now. With so many cars going over, even a fool would know what they were going to do. So they lowered the windows now, ready to shoot directly from the car if necessary.

Gao Guang saw people busy putting on face masks, and some had already rested their guns on the car windows. All in all, this attack was launched very hastily.

If you talk about being ruthless, Danny was indeed ruthless enough.

Danny said fiercely, "Listen to me! Ten million dollars for everyone, everyone who participates in the action gets a share, the first one to rush in gets double! Kill Grayev and split the money, if Grayev runs, everyone works for nothing. There's no time to say more, go!"

Gao Guang had already put on his bulletproof vest, but hearing Danny's words, he silently drew his pistol.

Danny looked at Gao Guang, then pointed at him and said, "My men go first, you guys are the reserve team. There are less than twenty of you in total, each of you can get at least half a million. Buddy, this is a chance to make money!"

The hound had already gotten in the car, and all four cars were starting to turn around. Even John had started the car, so there was nothing more to say.

The key to such a sudden operation is speed.

You have to be fast and fierce. Rush up and fight, if you can win, fight, if you can't, die. Anyway, you can't let Grayev run away.

Gao Guang jumped into the car, and John followed the hound's car out. After everyone had rushed out, Danny got into his own car. He picked up the phone and said urgently, "Prepare ten million dollars for me, prepare for the transfer immediately. I don't care how you do it, prepare now! I need it now! A lot of people are going to die in this battle, it's not good to not give money first..."

While Danny was making a call to prepare the money to buy lives, John also lowered his voice and said very firmly, "You two be smart later, decide whether to go up based on the situation, don't lose your lives for a few hundred thousand."

Gao Guang asked, "What about you?"

John sighed and said, "You know I have personal grudges to settle. Whatever I do is my own business. You two don't get involved. If you insist on going to your deaths when the situation is bad, then you are fools."

Gao Guang said very firmly, "If you're not a fool, you should know that the three of us are together. You say you want to fight to the death, can we just watch? Caps, don't say things that are useless."

John angrily said, "I finally have a chance to take revenge, am I supposed to give it up for you two?"

Gao Guang immediately said, "If you want to take revenge, you should do it alone. Since we're here, don't talk about personal grudges and such nonsense. If we have a chance, the three of us will go up and fight. If we don't, we'll retreat. We can't watch you go to your death, but you shouldn't drag us two to our deaths either. No one should play the moral kidnapping game. It's that simple, okay?"

There's no need to argue about this. It's pointless to talk about life and death friendship. Gao Guang simply didn't give John the chance to play the old trick.

John was helpless, and finally said, "Fine, fine, you're in charge. You really are... really are..."

Gao Guang said without hesitation, "I'm really clear-headed, right? Thanks for the compliment. Now stop talking nonsense and let's get to work."
