Chapter 40 – Fierce battle

When Joja and the others attacked, there was also gunfire in the village. The enemy had a total of ten people, and Joja killed three of them, leaving seven. However, these seven people easily defeated Yellow Boss and his men. In less than two minutes, one of Yellow Boss's men died and a young man who had just escaped from danger was also killed. This was a team sent to eliminate witnesses. Although they were all black, their combat abilities and equipment were extraordinary. Joja suddenly had a more terrifying guess...

According to Kaman's description, Joja found someone hiding in a residential house. The person was holding a high-end camera and aiming it towards Yellow Boss and his men. Joja couldn't see the person's body, so he aimed at the person's arm and shot a bullet through the window sill, hitting the "photographer's" forearm. Even though they were 700 meters apart, Joja knew that the person couldn't escape without help.

Just as Joja was trying to readjust his aim to continue searching for targets, a bullet whistled past Nis and hit the dirt mound in front of her. However, Nis didn't seem to notice and quickly located the enemy's position based on the trajectory. She pulled the trigger...

With a loud bang, Joja saw through the scope that a mud-brick house in the village had a hole blown through it. Then, a person holding a sniper rifle fell forward, half of their body collapsing onto the road. Watching the person crawl a few meters with their intestines hanging out before finally dying, Joja glanced at Nis, who was reciting scriptures, nodded in admiration, and began searching for his own target.

After the sniper's gruesome death, the village fell silent. No one dared to show themselves, nor did anyone dare to move.

Just as Joja was considering how to break the deadlock, Yellow Boss's phone rang. But this time, it wasn't Yellow Boss speaking, it was Dorian.

"Hey, Jackal, my boss is trapped. Can I go and seize the mounted machine gun to suppress them and buy Yellow Boss time to retreat? Can you cover my flank?"

Joja put the phone on speaker and placed it on the ground in front of him. He carefully examined the positions of Yellow Boss's vehicles and the mounted machine gun on the other side. Half a minute later, he nodded and said, "I'll cover you. Let Yellow Boss and the others leave first."

Squeezed between two military trucks, Dorian handed the phone to Yellow Boss and said, "Climb forward along the ground. Those two pickup trucks should still be intact. I'll cover you and buy you time to retreat."

Dorian then gave Yellow Boss an account number and said earnestly, "If you're not dead, you must transfer the remaining $50,000 into this account."

Yellow Boss looked at Dorian, who had a serious expression, and nodded solemnly, saying, "Don't worry, as long as I'm alive, I will definitely pay. Even if I die, my son will pay."

Saying that, Yellow Boss began to command his men to crawl under the trucks, not forgetting to take the two bodies with them. When they were in position, Dorian took a deep breath, pulled out a cross from his chest, kissed it fervently, drew a cross on his chest with devotion, and then rushed out like a cheetah...

As soon as Dorian rushed out, several bullets hit the truck behind him, causing a crackling explosion. Dorian ran for over ten meters, and in the moment he approached the pickup truck, he leaped and dived into the truck bed. Ignoring the large bump on his head, he stood up, supported the machine gun, and turned the barrel while firing, shouting loudly, "Go!"

Yellow Boss still had some basic organizational skills. He and a few young men threw the bodies onto the pickup truck, and then the ten of them drove the two pickup trucks northward, preparing to bypass the battlefield and enter the desert to evade pursuit.

Dorian's self-sacrificing cover played a role, suppressing the enemies who could attack the pickup trucks.

When two gunmen appeared on his flank, wanting to kill him, two bullets found them—one blew off their heads, and the other hit their chests, sending their heads and half of their shoulders flying.

The team of ten people sent to eliminate witnesses was now reduced to only four.

In the moment when Dorian ran out of ammunition, he rolled and crawled out of the pickup truck, scrambling between the two military trucks. He picked up his AK-74 and refused to expose himself.

Just as Joja was considering whether to let Kaman circle around and ambush the remaining four people in the village, the Kindweke militia, who had left for a while, suddenly returned.

And they clearly knew the direction Joja and the others were in. The trucks carrying over 20 militiamen stopped 300 meters away from Joja and the others. The militiamen began shooting and charging, and a few of them even carried RPGs and fired a few shots at Joja and the others.

The smoke from the RPGs obstructed Joja's vision. He shouted to Nis beside him, "Change your position and block them from behind. Dragon Lizard and I will deal with these guys."

Upon hearing the command, Nis didn't hesitate and crawled backward for a few meters, then stood up and ran towards the south, holding the heavy TAC-50, even though there wasn't a suitable line of fire. But if the remaining four people wanted to run south, they would have to gamble on Nis's marksmanship.

Through the flying dust and smoke, Joja saw that the over 20 militiamen had entered the minefield he had set up. He laughed and said to Kaman beside him, "Don't you want to experience the power of 'Broad Sword'? Let's begin. Three, two, one, fire~"

With Joja's shout, both of them pressed the eight remote detonation buttons.

Because the sandstorm was too strong, they didn't get a clear view, but they heard a series of explosions, and then the ground under the mines became a bloody hell.

The directional mines were called 'Broad Sword' because when they exploded, it was like a large sword sweeping across the front.

The explosion of the MON-50 created an absolute kill zone in the shape of a fan. The killing range of this directional mine was only 50 meters, but its internal fragmentation matrix was designed to be extremely vicious, causing excruciating pain to anyone inside it.

The militiamen had the misfortune of stepping into the minefield. Who could endure that?

After the massive explosion, except for a few surviving militiamen clutching their tattered bodies and wailing in despair, no other sounds could be heard.

After detonating the directional mines for the first time, Kaman took a deep breath of the smell of gunpowder in the air. When the smoke cleared slightly, he stood up and slid down the slope, walking among the broken bodies to finish off any survivors.

Joja didn't pay attention to Kaman. The remaining enemies only had assault rifles, so they couldn't hit them from such a distance.

However, Joja started to hesitate. He didn't know if he should go down and directly engage in battle with them. Staying in this stalemate was not a solution. If they called for reinforcements, he wouldn't have any directional mines left.

Just as Joja was hesitating, Kaman jumped into the militiamen's truck that had arrived. He dragged down two RPG-7 launchers and, using the communication device, said in a hoarse voice, "Boss, I'll go around and force them out. You guys focus on blocking their escape route."
