Chapter 12 – Emptying a warehouse worth billions of dollars

Zhang Yi had the delivery guy bring 100 giant water buckets to the warehouse.

He then stored them in his space and brought them home.

Upon returning, Zhang Yi began to open all the taps at home, filling the buckets with water.

At this rate, it would take at most a week to fill all 100 buckets.

Days passed by, one after another.

Zhang Yi didn't rest for a single day.

He spent every penny he had without any reservation.

He dined at the finest restaurants every day.

Then he bought large quantities of food from top-tier restaurants and stored them in his own spatial dimension.

During this time, he also went to Tianhai City's shooting range every day to practice archery and firearms, striving to improve his skills.

It was unrealistic to become a combat expert in a month.

But with a bow, a gun, and a super safe house with a full metal shell, he wouldn't fear any potential dangers.

Such actions, of course, did not escape the notice of others.

But everyone around him treated Zhang Yi as a joke.

They thought he had lost his mind and mocked him behind his back.

Even Fang Yuqing deliberately distanced herself from Zhang Yi, unwilling to communicate with him.

It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from "pawread.com".

And so, time went on, day by day.

More than twenty days quickly passed, and the apocalypse was drawing near.

Zhang Yi had amassed a massive amount of supplies, including food, weapons, and heating equipment.

But these did not provide him with enough security.

He decided to target the Walmart warehouse.

If he could take over this warehouse, he would have enough supplies to last him ten lifetimes!

He didn't wait until the last day because Zhang Yi remembered something—in his previous life, he had heard that the higher-ups had received advance notice of the incoming gamma radiation.

So they had quietly begun moving large amounts of supplies without the public's knowledge.

Zhang Yi didn't want to gamble; he had to act in advance.

And by this logic, even if the Walmart warehouse's supplies disappeared, the high-ups, eager to seek refuge, wouldn't have the resources to investigate.

This gave Zhang Yi an appropriate buffer period.

So, Zhang Yi returned to the warehouse and started his shift as usual.

The Walmart warehouse was staffed 24 hours a day, but at night, there were only 10 people on duty.

Zhang Yi decided to use the simplest and most brutal method: adding sleeping pills to their tea.

With only three days left until the apocalypse, he wasn't afraid of being caught.

Since these people were all well-acquainted with Zhang Yi, he easily succeeded.

Once the drugs took effect, and they fell into a deep sleep, Zhang Yi went to the surveillance room and turned off all the cameras in the warehouse!

He knew the place too well; he could picture every corner with his eyes closed, and with countless plans and rehearsals in his mind, he executed everything very smoothly.

After all this, he changed into a pair of shoes two sizes too big, put on gloves, and quickly went to the warehouse.

Looking at the vast warehouse before him, Zhang Yi took a deep breath and began to collect the supplies.

As long as his right eye scanned the shelves, with just a thought, the entire shelf would appear in his spatial dimension.

Zhang Yi first headed to the beverage area.

There were tens of thousands of tons of mineral water, drinks, and alcohol, including many high-end wines and spirits.

Zhang Yi didn't discriminate, and he stored everything in his own warehouse.

In no time, the thousands of cubic meters of beverages vanished.

Next was the fuel area for living supplies.

There were many smokeless coals and barrels of gasoline and alcohol.

All were for household use, for family storage or for use during travel and picnics.

Just the smokeless coal amounted to tens of thousands of boxes, not to mention the solid alcohol and barrel gasoline.

The quantity here was enough for Zhang Yi to use for hundreds of years!

Zhang Yi never considered leaving any for others; after all, these things wouldn't end up in the hands of ordinary people after the apocalypse.

So he unhesitatingly took all the supplies.

Then, using his years of professional warehousing knowledge, he allocated areas for them in his spatial dimension.

This would make it convenient for his own use.

The third step, he came to the food area.

The quantity here was even larger, amounting to tens of thousands of tons! Several warehouses were packed full, like small mountains.

Canned food, packaged roast chicken, roast duck; puffed food, instant food, high-end snacks...

"Enough to last me ten lifetimes!"

Zhang Yi exclaimed.

He wasn't picky; he took whatever was available.

After taking the food, Zhang Yi moved on to the sports equipment.

Exercise equipment was also essential for his safe house.

Regular exercise to strengthen the body was crucial for health and could be life-saving when necessary.

Although the space in the safe house was limited, he wouldn't be shy about taking what he could; after all, the area in his spatial dimension was infinite, and it was a waste not to take advantage.

Among them, there were some particularly useful items.

For example, baseball bats and fencing swords were especially useful weapons.

During the collection process, Zhang Yi found some particularly useful items.

For example, skiing and mountaineering equipment, including professional cold-resistant suits for national athletes.

These could withstand temperatures as low as minus one hundred degrees! They were the latest technology products of 2050.

Zhang Yi's eyes lit up; these were top-tier cold-resistant equipment for the coming ice age apocalypse!

He didn't hesitate and immediately took dozens of top-tier cold-resistant suits and sleeping bags from the warehouse.

After two hours, Zhang Yi single-handedly emptied the Walmart warehouse that spanned over a million square feet!

After doing all this, looking at the vast and empty warehouse, Zhang Yi felt an indescribable satisfaction.

Now, even if he faced the coldest ice age, he was confident he could live comfortably!

Zhang Yi returned to his post, took off the gloves and shoes, and stored them in his spatial dimension.

Then he drank a bit of the tea with sleeping pills and lay down on the table, falling into a deep sleep.

After an unknown amount of time, he was shaken awake by someone urgently.

"Manager, manager, something big has happened, wake up!"

Zhang Yi slowly opened his eyes, looking bewildered at the few colleagues in front of him.

"What's wrong?"

A warehouse employee, shivering, pointed at the warehouse and said, "It's like it's haunted! Our warehouse has been completely emptied!"

"What!"

Zhang Yi stood up in surprise, slapping the table.

He pretended to go to the warehouse and, of course, saw the empty scene.

Zhang Yi knew better than anyone what had happened.

But he still went weak at the knees and said with a trembling voice, "What on earth happened? How could so many supplies in the warehouse disappear!"

The surrounding employees were also tense.

"Yeah, the supplies in this warehouse are worth at least ten billion! Even if you used big trucks to transport them, it would take several days to clear out. How could they disappear in the blink of an eye?"

They didn't mention the fact that they had just been sleeping.

After all, it was common for people to sneak in a nap during night shifts.

Zhang Yi put on a serious face and paced back and forth anxiously.

Then he said to everyone, "This is too bizarre; we can't handle it. Let's call the higher-ups!"

Although everyone was nervous, they weren't too scared.

Because the bigger the issue, the less responsibility they had.

The disappearance of a warehouse worth ten billion in goods in just two hours was clearly not something they could do.

Earning just a few thousand a month, they had no reason to risk their lives for the company.

So when Zhang Yi suggested this, everyone nodded in agreement.

Let the higher-ups worry about this mess!

Zhang Yi immediately called the warehouse manager to report the incident.

The manager was so shocked upon hearing the news that he even thought Zhang Yi was joking.
