Chapter 289 – Follower

Mi Xiaojing had no idea what Thousand Poisons Qian was up to, nor did he trust Luo Bo, so he had no choice but to stand by, his Deadly Thousand Thunder stored in his bracelet, ready to be used as a threat if needed.

He watched silently, no longer speaking.

Luo Bo curiously asked, "Is there anything else you need me to do?"

Thousand Poisons Qian extended his arm, one of which had just been reattached and was still crooked.

Luo Bo said, "Alright!"

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Luo Bo was ruthless, breaking the arm in three places. Mi Xiaojing had been drawn by the screams of Thousand Poisons Qian earlier, but this time, Qian remained silent, his forehead drenched in sweat. Even as a Cultivator at the Elemental Infant stage, forcibly breaking his own arm was excruciating. If it weren't for the fact that the broken parts had just been reconnected, Luo Bo wouldn't have been able to break the original arm.

After realigning the bones, he infused the arm with a green mist that was the medicinal ointment.

Next were the legs. Mi Xiaojing winced at the sight, his curiosity getting the better of him, he asked, "Who did this to you?"

A quick look at bit.ly/3iBfjkV will leave you more fulfilled.

Mi Xiaojing was truly baffled. With Thousand Poisons Qian's strength, it was possible to defeat him, but to leave him in such a state was strange. Even Cultivators at the Great Perfection stage of Elemental Infant were of little concern to Qian, who could fight vibrantly.

Thousand Poisons Qian couldn't answer; he had been warned, and besides, it was too humiliating to speak of being beaten worse than a dog.

"I fell on my own! Is that so hard to believe?"

At this, he felt a surge of anger. He had never been so humiliated in his life, and he couldn't even vent his frustration.

His explanation made no sense. How could a Cultivator at the Elemental Infant stage fall and end up like this? Ridiculous!

Once the bones were reconnected, he gave up on the finer details, but at least he looked better than before, except his face was still crooked, which was not so easily fixed.

Mi Xiaojing said, "Little Turnip Head, let's go."

Thousand Poisons Qian followed silently. Mi Xiaojing looked back and said, "You don't have to follow me; go do whatever you need to do."

Luo Bo grinned at Qian, making a face and sticking out his tongue, but Qian acted as if he saw and heard nothing, just following the two.

Mi Xiaojing was truly at a loss. He couldn't beat or scold Qian, and he was afraid of provoking him, yet he couldn't send him away either. What to do?

Back at the lakeside, where they were rebuilding the cabin with a roof this time, Mi Xiaojing was worried about their defenses without the Qingmu Formation.

Thousand Poisons Qian said nothing and simply sat cross-legged on the grass, beginning to cultivate as if no one else was there.

Yong Ji was startled when he arrived and asked Mi Xiaojing, "Why is he back?"

Mi Xiaojing replied with a wry smile, "Can't stop him. What do we do if he insists on following? Maybe you, Master, can send him away?"

Yong Ji helplessly responded, "Me send him away? Better not. I can't beat him, so I dare not try to send him off."

Yang Shan also hurried over and was shocked to see Qian. He approached, asking the same question as Yong Ji, "Why is he here?"

Even if Thousand Poisons Qian wasn't there to fight, his mere presence was enough to give Mi Xiaojing and his group a headache, leaving them clueless about what to do.

In the end, it was Luo Bo who made everyone ignore Qian.

"If he wanted to fight, he would have done so already. Why just sit there? We should just mind our own business."

Everyone realized that was true. With Qian's strength, he didn't need any schemes; he could just overpower them. Since they couldn't fight or scold him, nor send him away, ignoring him was the best option.

Mi Xiaojing waved his hand and said, "Everyone disperse and go about your business."

The group dispersed, truly ignoring Thousand Poisons Qian. There was nothing else they could do; they understood the situation, but what could they do about it? Eventually, only Yong Ji and Yang Shan remained, even Luo Bo had left.

Yong Ji looked at Qian, who was meditating not far away, and said resignedly, "This is trouble!" Then he said to Mi Xiaojing, "I've collected most of the materials. Just a few are left and need more time. Shall I give you what I've gathered?"

Yang Shan also took out his Storage Bag, saying, "I've almost got everything too. Here, take it."

After scanning the two Storage Bags with his Divine Sense, Mi Xiaojing knew what was missing. He said, "Alright, I'll keep these. Find the rest as soon as possible."

Suddenly, Thousand Poisons Qian appeared beside them, still sitting cross-legged. He looked up and said, "What materials are you missing? I'll help you find them."

Mi Xiaojing, Yong Ji, and Yang Shan were all stunned. This man was unpredictable and seemed to be looking for trouble.

Ignoring him, Mi Xiaojing transferred the materials from the Storage Bags to his bracelet and returned the bags, saying, "Try to find what's missing. Also, see if you have anything the other doesn't."

After comparing their collections, they found that there were indeed some materials Yang Shan had acquired that Yong Ji hadn't, and vice versa. By combining their resources, they managed to gather most of what was needed.

Thousand Poisons Qian, seeing that they were ignoring him, said, "Are you gathering materials for Alchemy? Who's going to do the Alchemy?"

Yong Ji and Yang Shan, holding their Storage Bags, didn't respond and walked away. Only Mi Xiaojing remained standing. Qian felt snubbed, which was unpleasant, but he was thick-skinned and acted as if it was all normal.

Mi Xiaojing headed towards the cabin without answering, leaving Qian sitting there.

A sharp glint flashed in Qian's eyes before he bowed his head. Moments later, he vanished from the spot, leaving Mi Xiaojing to sigh in relief. Qian's presence had been too oppressive.

"Old man, what do you think Thousand Poisons Qian is up to?"

"I can't figure it out!"

No one could understand Qian's intentions, not even the cunning Wang Weijun. Qian was too strange; after being scared off by Mi Xiaojing's threat of mutual destruction, he suddenly returned, wanting to act as a guard, and in such a bizarre state, it was incomprehensible.

"I do feel his threat has lessened, but why, I can't say."

The cabin was quickly finished, still a simple structure. Unlike the previous roofless cabin, this one had no walls, just four pillars and a roof, more like a pavilion.

Without the Qingmu Formation, Mi Xiaojing chose a spot with a clear view, where the lack of walls allowed for a wider range of sight.

Mi Xiaojing looked towards where Thousand Poisons Qian had disappeared, feeling annoyed. It was Qian who had destroyed the Qingmu Formation, and now he was gone without a trace.
