Vol.1 - Chapter 82 – Requiem

"Cough, it's actually a Transcendent with dual paths?"

"What...kind of monster are you?"

Despite being cut in half, Ogusamixus was still alive.

His body was struggling to crawl, and the demonic blood created a large amount of corrosive smoke on the ground.

Su Li was panting heavily, kneeling on one knee with the Lost Blade in his hand.

The aftermath of using multiple powerful sealing objects consecutively had greatly affected him. If he were to continue fighting, he would probably have to use gold coins to summon the Four Emperors of the Spirit Realm, Melin Alyssa, to save him.

Seeing Su Li's spiritual power on the verge of losing control, Ogusamixus propped himself up with both hands and sat up.

"Cough, it hurts so much. Your spiritual power should have already dried up, right?"

"It's been a long time...since I've suffered such serious injuries."

He crawled towards his severed lower body.

As the broken wound made contact with each other, it began to gradually fuse together. Su Li gasped heavily, the dense mist contaminated with burning sensation made his throat ache.

He wanted to raise his sword, but he discovered that the side effects of his depleted spiritual power were much more severe than he had imagined.

"It seems that what the teacher said was indeed correct. With my current strength, forcibly using the Lost Blade with dual paths is still too much of a burden."

"However...I will make you die."

With one hand covering his head, Su Li dragged the giant sword, and the heavy blade plowed a trench in the ground of the broken house.

Ogusamixus, covered in blood, sat slumped to the side. His upper and lower halves were gradually merging with flesh buds growing out.

He looked ferocious, ugly, and terrifying.

"You...can't kill me."

Although it was difficult for him to speak, Ogusamixus opened his mouth wide and took out a small bottle from his pocket, uncorking it.

A violent gust of wind howled.

In the room, which was already full of blood stains and filth, the air suddenly dropped by more than ten degrees, chilling to the bone.

With his spiritual vision, Su Li saw one black spirit after another emerge.

They dragged their tails emitting "thick smoke" and hovered in the room...

One, two, three...tens, hundreds!

In the sky above the entire block, one dead spirit after another swarmed around the narrow alleys of Plinsk Street, covering the sky like a flock of crows.

These were the souls of countless unjustly dead people, and their sheer number made one's scalp tingle.

"Kid, you're the eighth-ranked Soul Master of the Night Church, right?"

"With so many restless souls of the unjustly dead, can you calm them down?"

A wicked smile appeared on Ogusamixus's ferocious face. He opened his mouth wide, and an endless suction force came from his mouth!

In the sky, the vengeful spirits fleeing quickly, one after another, entered his mouth. His originally broken and battered injuries began to recover.

At this moment, Su Li "quickened" his pace.

Ogusamixus was taken aback. He saw that the blade in Su Li's hand had become shorter, deeper, and pitch black.

He grabbed Ogusamixus's long horn and forcefully inserted the black blade into his mouth!

Su Li opened his mouth and chanted the unique prayer of the Soul Master for the first time.

The Valerian language echoed in the broken house:

"They are the hardworking ones struggling for their lives."

"They are the diligent ones working hard for their families."

"I am not only praying for myself,"

"But for all those who stand with me." (Note 1)

"The night belongs to everyone."

"We have the right to bathe in moonlight."

"We have the right to live, and the right to rest!"

One after another, the soul spells containing the power of the night resonated from Su Li's mouth. The pure black Lost Blade suddenly burst into a dazzling light.

All the vengeful spirits who died unjustly due to the demons turned into countless white lights, pouring out from Ogusamixus's eyes, nose, and mouth.

Ogusamixus struggled frantically. He suddenly punched Su Li in the stomach.

Su Li, holding the Blade of the Night, broke off one of Ogusamixus's indestructible demonic horns. Countless purified souls that had been sucked into his stomach were cleansed!

"You ruined my ritual!"

Despite being repeatedly injured, the sixth-ranked demon in the sequence was still alive!

His vitality was terrifyingly tenacious, his gaze ferocious and blood-red. The surrounding air began to become unusually scorching, as if everything around was going to be turned into hell.

"Die!"

Roaring as if it came from hell, with his vocal cords destroyed, Ogusamixus let out a roar, and the ground of the entire house was about to turn into magma.

"Since you like playing with fire so much, here you go!"

After purifying the souls of the tragically dead, Su Li took out a small bottle containing Wildfire. He uncorked it and quickly threw it out.

The thick, pitch-black liquid splashed on the demon's body, and the abnormally concentrated power of the Transcendent was instantly ignited like gasoline!

Boom!

In the melting hell, the green flames were extremely dazzling.

Wildfire.

The fire that burns everything.

The nemesis of Transcendent power. The intense, eerie green flames burned fiercely on the demon's body and in his mouth. He flapped desperately, trying to extinguish the damned flames.

But the more he struggled, the faster the flames burned.

The surrounding pollution was dispelled, and the energy of mysticism was exhausted.

Su Li coldly watched Ogusamixus struggle in the flames, not uttering a word.

Around him, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of 'people'.

They were the dock workers who diligently loaded and unloaded goods, the weak who were struggling on their deathbeds, the men who worked as security guards all night to support their wives and children with meager wages, the couples who were sleeping in their houses after a busy day...

These ordinary souls were now standing behind Su Li, watching the demon, who was like a god and could easily control their lives and deaths.

At some point, Sorl, who had walked in leaning on his sword, stood beside Su Li.

The sheriff was not a curse master, and his forced command of a rank six had caused him considerable damage.

If it weren't for Su Li's outburst, any lower-ranked partner would have been killed by now.

But now, the rank six demon was burning to ashes in front of them.

Not even his extraordinary traits were left behind.

"Let's go, take this demon's horn and report back."

Sorl was about to pat Su Li on the shoulder, but the latter fell to the ground with a thud.

His spirit was completely exhausted.

After confirming that Ogusamixus had turned into ashes, Su Li finally breathed a sigh of relief and fainted on the spot.

Sorl's face changed.

"Spirit exhausted? This is bad!"

Spirit exhaustion meant that he could no longer suppress the demonic drug pollution in his body, and as a dual-path extraordinary, it meant losing control!

He pulled open Su Li's collar to find that the Night Necklace was terrifyingly hot, almost like a branding iron embedded in Su Li's flesh.

"He must be taken back to the church immediately, or his life will be in danger."

Without bothering to wipe the blood from his face, Sorl hoisted Su Li onto his back and ran towards the Church of the Night...
