Vol.1 - Chapter 105 – True Spirit Society

Distributing "contaminated flesh of transcendent creatures" is equivalent to a frenzy for the slaves.

At this moment, all the workshops fell into relative silence.

The entire train was filled with the sound of chewing and tearing.

Su Li sat at the head of the bed, bent his knees and rested his arms on his legs, watching the slaves fight for food like wild beasts, feeling insane.

Civilization no longer existed here.

Some slaves only ate a little, and their bones burst like popcorn. Some had gradually bloodshot eyes, and some seemed to have hallucinations and waved their claws randomly.

In the neighboring cage, a terrifying roar suddenly erupted.

The sound was as loud as a wild beast out of control. Immediately, there were sounds of fighting and screaming in the cell.

Wolf's eating movements gradually slowed down. He still held a large piece of torn flesh in his hand and said slowly:

"Some people can't bear the contamination and have turned into real monsters."

Soon, members of the Mechanical Heart rushed in. They bypassed Su Li's cell and shot through the iron cage.

The dull and loud gunshots echoed in the train, and many slaves were scared and shrank their necks, but their mouths were still stuffed with the flesh of transcendent creatures.

"Since you know the outcome, why choose this way?" Su Li sighed.

Wolf seemed not to hear Su Li's words. He gnawed on the flesh of the transcendent creature and squinted his eyes, saying:

"It would be even better if we had some cigarettes and wine at this time."

Looking at the chaotic slave workshop on the Grace of God, Su Li finally understood why the True Spirit Society strictly controlled extraordinary events and their impact on human society.

Most people, whether out of curiosity or other desires, would choose to become transcendent beings.

Even if they didn't take magic medicine but consumed the more dangerous contaminated flesh of transcendent creatures, countless people would flock to it.

This is human nature.

And in the world, there is no regret medicine to sell.

The body was dragged out by members of the neighboring Mechanical Heart. All the eaters slowed down their eating speed and looked at the monster that became even uglier due to distortion.

Glyn said in a low voice:

"Room 11's Ram, a small half-orc, I didn't expect his body size to expand so much."

"Unfortunately, if he can withstand this mutation, maybe he can compete for the position of the room owner."

Su Li was shocked by the numbness of the slaves in the prison car. Can they really give up their lives for power?

Many slaves, after eating enough, made strange noises. The skin on the back of one goblin cracked, and clusters of black hair grew. Their bodies became stronger.

Su Li dared not sleep and watched the slaves lying on the ground, on the bed, leaning against the fence. Their bodies were undergoing various changes, which felt extremely horrifying.

At midnight, the sound of the train roaring, accompanied by snoring, murmurs, and various strange sounds of bone growth, echoed in the slave car.

"It must be much more uncomfortable for the Chenix Gate to take turns."

Recalling the past, Su Li suddenly remembered the extraordinary cards given by Sorl.

He hesitated whether to respond to himself and take out the cards to relieve boredom. A slave pushing a cart came to Su Li's cells. He discreetly took out a paper ball and flicked it with his fingers.

The pellet-sized paper bullet accurately fell into Su Li's hand.

Su Li raised an eyebrow and looked at the back of the laborer who was leaving, unfolding the paper ball:

"A deal, the reward is freedom."

Hooked!

Although the other party didn't say what the deal was, when and where to meet, and didn't mention who the person leaving the note was.

But Su Li knew that the person who came must be a lunatic from the True Spirit Society.

They really wanted to take action.

Holding the note tightly, Su Li thought of Sorl's ability.

"Sorl taught me a simple tracking ritual. This person is quite cautious. Even if I hand over the note, I won't be able to find out the person's whereabouts."

Su Li put the note into his clothes. He decided to adapt to the situation.

In the blink of an eye, a night passed.

In the morning, after eating plain water with black bread, a bell rang, and the slaves went out for their daily break.

As all the slaves from various cells came out, Su Li observed that the slaves in several neighboring rooms were gathered around the troll Richard, and Bif was surrounded in the middle, occasionally bursting into laughter.

Looking to the right, among the crowded group of slaves, several slaves were restless. It seemed that after a night of mutation, their bodies became stronger, and they wanted to compete for the position of room leader.

While Su Li was boredly observing his surroundings, a spiritual voice entered his ears.

"You come alone, Room 9."

Su Li stood up, and Wolf and Glyn around him also stood up.

"You guys relax, I'm going over there to take a look."

Saying that, Su Li walked through the crowd of slaves and saw the interior of Room 9.

This was a room mostly composed of trolls. At the entrance, four or five strong troll men stood guard, not allowing anyone to enter.

Su Li walked to the entrance, and the two door gods-like trolls respectfully made way for him.

Entering the room, Su Li saw an old man.

He looked old, with medium-length hair, but his exposed muscles were quite strong.

"Are you the one who passed me the note?" Su Li asked.

The old man didn't answer Su Li's question. Instead, he made a gesture of invitation, indicating for him to sit down and talk.

"I heard that you are from the Blood Hand Sect?"

"What does that have to do with you?" Su Li sneered.

The old man was not angry either and continued:

"It has nothing to do with me, but it has a lot to do with the transaction."

Su Li stood up and placed the paper ball in front of the old man, saying:

"Don't misunderstand, I'm not here for a trade. I just came to see which group of idiots is planning to attack the Grace of God. Now that I've seen it, bye! I'm not interested in your deal."

His reaction seemed to be within the old man's expectations. He said lightly:

"It's too late. Whether you agree or not, you have to agree because the plan has begun."Almost at the moment the old man spoke, the entire train suddenly began to shake violently. Immediately after, a deafening explosion echoed within the carriage.

The entire carriage was engulfed in flames.

"Who are you people? Madmen? The Grace of God is a miracle, an existence that cannot be destroyed by Transcendent powers."

Su Li was shocked, but to distract the old man, he shouted loudly.

"Who said miracles can't be destroyed? We are short-handed."

"The one who was causing a ruckus in this carriage should have been Pilou. Now that he's dead, you'll have to take his place." As Su Li spoke, he suddenly had a premonition and realized the danger was imminent.

The old man grinned, seemingly indifferent to the raging flames and screams in the carriage, as if they were trivial matters.

He flicked something towards Su Li. It was an embryo, a wriggling lump of flesh.
