Chapter 32 – The remnants of the Tudor dynasty

"5900 pounds!"

"I have my eyes on this Chaotic Flute, 6000 pounds, plus a recipe for the Faceless Man's Magic Potion."

Upon hearing the intense bidding in the room, Miss Arrogant slowly spoke:

"Our Alchemy Society does indeed need the recipe for the Faceless Man's Magic Potion."

"6000 pounds, I choose to make the transaction with this gentleman."

The man who initially sought extraordinary weapons remained silent for a moment before slowly speaking:

"5800 pounds, I'll buy the Spirit Eye."

Clearly, from his tone, one could tell that he was not satisfied with the long-term weakness of the Spirit Eye.

But there was nothing he could do about it. The recipe for a Sequence Seven Magic Potion was worth around 1400-1800 pounds.

Obviously, he couldn't afford to spend 8000 pounds on a sealed item.

Due to the fear of ancient evil objects and the uncomfortable side effects of wearing the Spirit Eye, no one competed with the gentleman.

Su Li was interested in both items, but unfortunately, he didn't have enough money to buy a sealed item.

After attending the underground extraordinary gathering, he gradually understood the true value of the extraordinary items he possessed.

Not to mention the powerful combat capabilities of the Ghost Revolver and the Fangs, even the almost negligible negative effects were enough to make most extraordinaries flock to them.

Not to mention the Lost Blade and the Thief's Belt. Su Li had only attended one underground extraordinary gathering, but it gave him a clear understanding of the prices of extraordinary items.

And all of this was the preferential treatment and benefits given to him by the Black Night Church as his backing force.

Thinking of this, Su Li couldn't help but feel warm in his heart. He missed his teacher and companions in Sederay a little.

The other extraordinaries who followed then made their own requests, all of which were about buying extraordinary materials and seeking knowledge in mysticism. Su Li didn't pay much attention to them.

As the underground meeting came to an end, Miss Arrogant, the chairman of the Alchemy Society, spoke:

"Does anyone else have any requests?"

"If not, then the meeting is adjourned, and the time for the next meeting will be announced in the vast sea of the Mind Network."

Just as Miss Arrogant was concluding the meeting, the man who wanted to buy the sealed item spoke up:

"There is one more thing."

Miss Arrogant looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

The hoarse man said:

"I have a request that requires the participation of three to five powerful extraordinaries."

"This is an adventure mission. I don't have any pounds as a reward, but its danger level and rewards are equally generous."

"My requirement is that the extraordinaries participating in this adventure preferably have a strength of Sequence Seven or above, or possess no less than four sealed items."

"Note that this may very well lead to death. The danger level is no less than infiltrating a branch of an evil cult head-on. Although the two cannot be compared, I can only say this much because I cannot describe the specific tasks."

His tone was quite mysterious, which piqued the interest of everyone present.

"How can we confirm that this is not a trap in itself?"

Upon hearing someone ask, the man introduced himself:

"I can offer a certain reward and ask Miss Arrogant to be a witness. I can't promise anything else."

His words immediately made many extraordinaries give up the idea of joining.

After all, caution is what allows one to live longer than an adventurous life.

Miss Arrogant smiled slightly and clapped her hands to announce the end of the meeting. These misty figures, led by the waiters, went to various exits in batches.

As fewer and fewer people remained in the room, Su Li noticed that the extraordinary who issued the mission seemed somewhat disappointed when the lady who took the Chaotic Flute left.

This made Su Li slightly wary.

The guy who issued the mission probably didn't have good intentions. He requested the participation of extraordinaries with four sealed items, and who knows, he might have had the intention of killing and robbing.

Su Li was considering whether to leave or not when Lilith transmitted her voice and said:

"Don't be in a hurry to leave. Listen to what this guy has to say."

With Lilith's order, Su Li patiently stayed until almost everyone had left.

In the room, there were only Su Li, Lilith, the man, and two adventurous individuals who were quite bold.

Miss Arrogant asked:

"Do the remaining people all want to participate in the adventure mission?"

All of them nodded, and the man took off his Faceless Man mask first, revealing a beautiful woman's face.

Her hair was intricately braided, and her clothes were dignified. Although not extravagant, they were appropriate and well-fitting.

This woman didn't look like an adventurer who spent 5800 pounds to buy a sealed item. She looked more like an aging lady from a fallen noble family.

As Su Li and Lilith took off their Faceless Man masks, there were three men and two women left in the room, matching the requirements of the adventurer.

There was no room for choice, which disappointed the person who initiated the mission. However, she still patiently introduced herself:

"You can call me Lady Mariana. I believe I have made myself clear before."

"This mission is quite dangerous. If you don't have sufficient strength or powerful sealed items to save your life, it's not too late to withdraw now."

The four people looked at each other and none of them showed any signs of backing down.

Mariana nodded and asked Miss Arrogant:

"Madam Chairman, can you bear witness for us? The four ladies and the gentleman present will form a temporary team with me to complete my commission."

Miss Arrogant smiled and said:

"This requires a reward of fifty pounds, but I am curious whether our Alchemy Society can participate in this mission."

Without hesitation, Mariana shook her head and said:

"Although I am a member of the Alchemy Society, I dare not entrust the mission to such a large organization. It is not safe."

"Alright, your honesty has moved me. After paying fifty pounds, this room will belong exclusively to the five of you for 30 minutes."

After paying the room usage fee of fifty pounds, Mariana skillfully set up a spiritual wall, isolating any possibility of being spied on. She then spoke:

"Please introduce your extraordinary sequences and names. This is quite important, I need to gauge your strengths."

A man with a vulture-like appearance not far from Su Li spoke:

"My code name is 'The Dead', and I am a sequence eight 'Broken Winged Angel'."

Su Li remembered him!

He was the one who immediately asked for the potion formula of sequence seven 'Serial Killer'. His path was that of a criminal.

As the vulture-like man spoke, he patted his waist and added:

"I have six sealed artifacts."

Mariana nodded, her gaze shifting to another extraordinary individual.

He had brown hair, under his brown eyes and straight nose hung a smile so stiff it could be described as frozen.

"My path is that of a fortune teller, currently a sequence seven magician. My code name is 'Joker'."

Next, Su Li and Lilith introduced themselves with the code names 'Ash' and 'Ghost' respectively.

Mariana seemed somewhat dissatisfied with having two sequence eights in the team, but since they met the condition of possessing four or more sealed artifacts, she didn't dwell on it. She directly said:

"The location of this mission is in my house's basement. While I was digging a secret room, I accidentally discovered a relic."

"It should belong to my ancestors, the Patterson family of the Tudor dynasty."
