Chapter 90 – The hunting trap of ancient evil creatures

As Su Li's voice fell, everyone immediately saw a transcendent creature lurking in the distant gloomy shadows.

Its appearance was quite strange, far beyond the common knowledge of wild beasts.

As an animal scientist, Su Li had a great understanding of animals.

In the usual sense, animals can be classified according to their living environment.

They can be divided into terrestrial animals, aquatic animals, and amphibians.

According to their form, they can be classified as vertebrates and invertebrates.

According to their method of feeding, they can be classified as mammals and non-mammals.

According to their form, they can be classified as vertebrates and invertebrates.

These classifications can be further divided into five major categories: fish, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and mammals.

However, the creature in front of them did not resemble any invertebrate native species, such as mollusks, worms, insects, or crustaceans. It was also unclear whether it was a carnivorous, herbivorous, scavenging, or omnivorous animal.

The transcendent creature in front of them seemed to be a hodgepodge of countless different animals.

It had the exoskeleton of an insect, with a dazzling shell that opened up to reveal bird-like wings.

Its eyes were amphibian-like, with a nictitating membrane, and its protruding mouth resembled that of a mammal, with a jumble of teeth inside. Strangely, it had a pair of cephalopod forelimbs where its head connected to its neck, and its four legs, which could be used for movement, were covered in spines.

This creature was so bizarre that it defied all logic. Instead of ears, it had two red, snake-like tails that swayed and wriggled.

"What in the world is this thing?"

"Could this be the legendary aberration?!"

It was incredibly strange.

The creature in front of them lay there, seemingly unperturbed by the intrusion of the five people into its territory, showing no signs of anger or fear.

It just stared at the five people, seemingly indifferent, but the two red snake tails in place of its horns were already raised high on its head.

Nicole, on guard, said, "This aberrant creature looks very strange. It seems quite interested in us."

Oscar's expression stiffened. Among the five people, he, as a spy, had the most acute intuition. He deliberately lowered his voice and trembled as he said, "This is not an aberration. It's a spirit world creature, no! More accurately, it's an ancient evil creature. Unbeknownst to us, we've been lured into its territory!"

Not a transcendent creature?!

The four words "ancient evil creature" raised Su Li's vigilance.

He still remembered the nightmare castle summoned by the True Spirit Society's grand landowner, Hooke Beterilla.

According to the words of the four emperors of the spirit world, Melin Alyssa, all ancient evil creatures held a high rank. Even a creature with a small body size was highly likely to be above the level of a beast general.

"Ancient evil creatures are beyond the scope of our hunting. Let's try to slowly retreat and see if this thing will let us go."

Su Li made a quick decision and ordered everyone to retreat.

No one objected, and Nicole even directly poured out the purified water from the iron pot and slowly backed away.

Just as the group was about to retreat, the creature in front of them suddenly opened its intricately patterned exoskeleton, revealing two pairs of wings covered in colorful feathers.

With a flap of its wings, the creature, like a ghost, approached the group, spewing out large gray mist from its mouth, covering the sparse trees. The gray dust, like volcanic ash, immediately caused all the vegetation to wither, as if unable to withstand the pull of gravity, quickly collapsing and turning into the desolate soil on the ground.

"Attack!"

The first to give the order was not Nicole or Su Li, but the chubby Oscar.

He sensed a great malice looming over them and was the first to use his unique containment item—the magician's half-top hat!

He lifted the hat, and countless extraordinary cards burst out from inside. These cards flew out like a flurry of poker knives, heading straight for the strange evil creature from all directions.

Almost simultaneously, Su Li's ghostly revolver opened fire.

The sound of gunfire rang out in the forest, but there was no flash of fire or bullet marks. The ghostly bullets silently pierced through the layers of mist surrounding the ancient evil creature, but they did not cause it any harm.

Lindsey suddenly reached out and snapped her fingers at the ancient evil creature in front of them.

The next moment, this creature with its eerie appearance spewed out clusters of flesh lumps the size of baby fists towards the five people.

These flesh lumps hit the rocks, trees, and vines, and in an instant, they seemed to breathe new life into the stones, trees, and plants.Giant trees with ugly faces, stones shifting positions, and the ground instantly cracking, countless vines drilling out from the ground.

A black and gold arc flashed, and the tall and sturdy tree man was directly cut in half by the Lost Blade in Su Li's hand.

Gauss reached out and violently shook, the golden and transparent light crystal instantly exploded into a swarm of bees, the sealing object shattered, and the brilliant light instantly shot towards the plants and stones that 'came to life' from all directions.

Squeak, squeak, squeak...

The unpleasant sound of friction, as if arrows were shooting into a dead pig on a cutting board.

The plants and rocks shattered by Su Li and the others sprayed out foul-smelling blood.

The fat man Oscar muttered, chanting ancient Hermes language in his mouth, and several squeaking old mice drilled out of the tree roots around them. They quickly circled around Su Li and the others, then ran in the opposite direction of the monsters.

"Quick! Follow them, these little things know where to escape!"

As soon as Oscar's voice fell, the gray mice on the ground ran around in all directions, running wildly in different directions.

Everyone looked at each other, even Oscar blushed involuntarily, despite his thick skin.

He gritted his teeth and pointed to the road where the fleeing mice were most concentrated:

"This way!"

Unfortunately, that thing was astonishingly fast. In a few breaths, it had already arrived in front of everyone.

Although this ancient evil creature was only the size of a goat, the evil aura on its body made everyone tremble with fear.

Su Li suddenly pulled out a mechanical war gun from his hand and slammed it down.

The Wildfire Incendiary Shell instantly smashed into the creature's face.

Unexpectedly, the expected burning scene did not appear. Its four pairs of claws slammed into the ground, and the surrounding soil exploded violently like splashing water. The monster directly burrowed into the soil, moving as fast as diving, without any hesitation.

Seeing this, Lindsey reached out and patted the ground, instantly activating the Transcendent power that the thief passed through.

"Steal!"

The surrounding roots instantly converged towards a certain place underground as if they were alive!

Lindsey stole the ancient evil creature's control over the plants, pointing at the ground and shouting:

"Here!"

Without hesitation, Su Li plunged the Lost Blade into the ground!

Hiss, blood gushed out like a spring.

Pulling out the blade, Su Li shouted loudly:

"Scatter!"

The ground shook violently! Two tentacles instantly drilled out, grabbing at Gauss and Oscar's ankles...
