Chapter 4 – Disaster

At this moment, Tattooed Arm raised his hand and looked at Goat's Head. "Hey, referee, how should we count cases like this with aliases? Does it count as lying?"

Goat's Head neither nodded nor shook his head, just said lightly, "I will no longer participate in the process. You just need to write down the names according to your own thoughts. Just remember, 'rules are absolute'. In the end, I will personally 'sanction' the loser."

The words 'sanction' echoed, sending a shiver down everyone's spine.

"This...this proves that I didn't lie!" Tian Tian anxiously shouted, "If I were lying, I would be dead by now, right? Even if it's an alias, my alias is really called 'Tian Tian'!"

No one answered her. It was now a matter of life and death, and no doubts could be overlooked.

"Then it's my turn to speak." Tattooed Arm pursed his lips, looking reluctant. "If this miss's story doesn't count as a lie, then mine definitely doesn't count either."

"I'm Qiao Jiajin, living in Guangdong, with no occupation. Before coming here, I was collecting debts."

Qiao Jiajin's Mandarin was not very good, so everyone had to listen carefully.

"People nowadays are really interesting. When borrowing money, they promise everything, but when it's time to repay, they start crying."

"FUCK, they curse us debt collectors as devils, as heartless."

"But that idiot should also think from a different perspective. When he was most helpless and in need of money, I lent him a helping hand. When no institution would lend him money, I did. To him, I'm not a devil, but a savior."

"But how did he treat me, his savior?"

"He cried everywhere, saying how difficult his life was, how he was cheated out of two million. He even denounced us debt collectors as heartless, trying to solve his own problems with the sympathy of his neighbors. But when he borrowed money, we signed a contract, clearly stating all the interest. Now that he can't repay, is it our problem?"

"Last night, I was prepared to teach him a lesson. I took him to the rooftop of a tall building, but unexpectedly, there was an earthquake. I didn't intend to take his life, but this idiot took out a knife and tried to kill me in the chaos!"

"In the midst of the chaos, he pushed me off the rooftop and I hit an advertising billboard. I can't remember what happened after that."

After listening to this man's story, everyone frowned.

And Tian Tian seemed to have discovered something, angrily saying, "See! I knew why you were trying to frame me! So you're the liar!"

"What? How dare you accuse me of lying?" Qiao Jiajin said fiercely.

"I'm in Shan Xi, and you're in Guang Dong!" Tian Tian pointed at him and said, "Your story was clearly made up based on mine! There was an earthquake where I was, and you also experienced an earthquake. I was hit by an advertising billboard, and you also hit an advertising billboard! Isn't this lying?"

"I don't care where you are! I did experience an earthquake," Tattooed Arm said, glaring, "If I didn't mention it, that would be lying! As for the advertising billboard, there can't be only one in the whole world, right?"

"Anyway, you're the liar!" Tian Tian pointed at Qiao Jiajin and said, "Your profession is inherently bad, so it's not surprising that you lie!"

"Huh, what makes your profession any better than mine?"

Qi Xia looked at the intense argument between the two and felt that something was indeed strange about this matter.

It wasn't because one of them was lying, but because he had also experienced an earthquake.

He was neither in Shan Xi nor in Guang Dong, but in Shan Dong.

In this world, could such a large-scale earthquake exist?

This earthquake spanned half the country and involved three provinces.

If what they said was true, wouldn't it be an unprecedented disaster?

"Stop arguing and end it soon." The muscular man sitting opposite them stopped the two and then looked at the next girl. "It's your turn. If we really want to judge who is lying, let everyone finish speaking first."

After hearing this, the two snorted coldly and remained silent.

The woman beside Qiao Jiajin timidly nodded and said, "Um...my name is Xiao Ran, and I am a preschool teacher."

This girl named Xiao Ran seemed very frightened, her voice was small and trembling.

"Before coming here, I was waiting for a parent with a child. The child used to be picked up by the mother, but then I heard that the mother got seriously ill and had something growing in her brain, so she needed surgery... That's why the father started coming to pick up the child these days, but it seems like he often forgets to come..."

"It was already past 6 p.m. yesterday, and I was actually off work already, but for some reason, the child's father never answered the phone..."

"I didn't know the address of the child's home, so I couldn't send him back. I could only wait with him at the intersection."

"Actually, I had something to do that night... I had an appointment with a psychological counselor. I didn't really like my current job, and I hoped the counselor could give me some guidance."

"But I didn't expect to wait for several hours, and the evening appointment was ruined."

"When I was lost in thought, the ground suddenly started shaking. I was so scared... It took me several seconds to realize that it was an earthquake..."

"The feeling of an earthquake was different from what I had heard... The ground wasn't jumping, but swaying from side to side. It felt like I was standing on a table and someone kept shaking it..."

"I immediately held the child next to me, but I didn't know what to do. I saw that the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple in the distance were cracking... Luckily, we were standing on an open space."

"Then, I saw a speeding car coming towards us... I could only stumble and run to the side while holding the child, but the shaking ground made me fall with every step."

"When I finally fell, I hit my head... and then I passed out. When I woke up, I was already here."

This was a story without any highlights.

The only thing that struck Qi Xia as strange was the "Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple."

These three pagodas were in Yun Nan,Da Li.Qi Xia gently stroked the card on the table. Although he covered the three characters with his hand, he knew it read "Liar".

So, could there be multiple Liars?

If "rules are absolute", then what Goat's Head just said, "there is and only is one Liar", is absolute.

Since he drew the "Liar" card, it proved that no one else could be the Liar. There was only one Liar.

Everyone else was telling the truth.

Yet, this story that spanned across three provinces was subtly interconnected.

Not only the earthquake, but even the content of their narratives were linked. Wasn't this too strange?

At this moment, everyone's gaze shifted to the next person, the middle-aged man in the white coat.
