Vol.2 - Chapter 2 – Doomsday Treasure

It's like a wingless bird falling to the ground in the dark.

As the kite made by the Kite Man emits a harsh sound due to being overweight, three men cry and howl as they fall towards the burning island below.

As they approach the chaotic ground, Mason can see the entire Turtle Island in front of him.

The island is not big, but it is covered with all kinds of messy buildings, even spreading out "island bamboo buildings" on the beach.

It is precisely because these wooden and inferior buildings are too close to the wooden pier that the flames ignited to block the zombies from rushing out of the pier easily spread along the beach.

But strangely, even though the pier has been invaded by zombies and is still on fire, the town on the island can still be heard bustling and shouting.

It seems that everyone there is still enjoying themselves and unaware of the danger that is close at hand.

It has a chaotic feeling of pre-apocalyptic revelry.

A low, withered, and ominous roar sounded from the flames, and the zombies that smelled fresh flesh rushed through the sea of fire, even though their bodies were burning, they still tried to pounce on the nearest escapee.

Mason looked back, and the zombies almost all rushed out from an old pier, and behind them were several large merchant ships stranded in shallow waters.

That's where the zombies came from.

"Charles! Blow up a few stranded ships!"

When they were two meters above the ground, Mason and Zha Kang jumped off the rope at the same time. After rolling on the ground for a few laps, Mason said to Kite Man, who was trying his best to control the direction in the air, through the communication headset:

"We will take care of this side of the pier."

"Received! Ah!"

Kite Man's shout came from the earphones, followed by Charles' weak response:

"I landed on both feet, boss. But why do I feel like I hit someone? Uh, I'll take action immediately!"

"Bang!"

Mason pulled out his pistol and swung the muzzle. His talent for quick-drawing a large deer bullet shot two shots, knocking down the sailor zombies rushing towards him. At the same time, he pulled out the hunting shotgun Old K and said to Konstantin, who was crawling up behind him:

"Get ready to throw forward! Throw it higher."

"Can you hit it?"

The Black Mage made a sarcastic comment.

He picked up two small bottles and threw them to the chaotic area ahead, one on the left and one on the right. The small bottles were only the size of fists, and the speed at which they were thrown was almost imperceptible in the night sky.

But Mason raised his gun almost without aiming, and the floating aiming frame had already locked the target for him.

With a light sniper rifle, he fired two shots in a row, smashing the bottles in the air. The mercury-like sticky potion poured down, covering the chaotic crowd and the heads of attacking zombies.Any creature that comes into contact with the liquid will see their body quickly covered in gray rock, even if only a little bit touches them.

Ten seconds later, several dozen "stone statues" of various shapes appeared in the narrow, crowded, and burning area.

Both zombies and humans were petrified, but they were not afraid of flames. Mason had chosen a clever "breakthrough point" location, and the scattered petrified statues happened to block the passage to the island town, trapping the subsequent zombies behind the already burning and burning area.

"You're pretty good with a gun!"

Constantine whistled and applauded, looking like he was just watching the show.

Mason glanced at him and said, "Keep throwing."

"Swish, swish."

Several more bottles of potion were thrown out and Mason smashed them one by one in the air.

He controlled the landing point and range, using precise sniper shots that made people shudder to make the petrified zombies form a "human wall" that could not be moved. The immovable stone statues soon completely blocked the footsteps of the subsequent zombies.

This weak petrifying potion was a by-product that Mason used to increase his proficiency. It was easy to make and had poor effects. Ordinary people would recover after being petrified for a few minutes at most, so it could be used as a consumable without any regrets.

Behind him, Zha Kang had already approached the seawater and began to cast spells to prepare to extinguish the fire.

Nearly ten flying engineering bombs also formed a "swarm" under the control of the kite man, silently flying over the night sky and quickly rushing towards the ship where zombies were still pouring out.

A few seconds later, accompanied by a loud noise and a burst of flames, the zombies that hadn't had time to rush out of the merchant ship and the ship that once belonged to them were blown to pieces.

Judging from the degree of this intense explosion, Charles should have found the gunpowder barrel on the ship and made a precise explosion.

Mason watched as a large group of zombies that had nowhere to go turned and rushed towards him. The young man took out a few things from his backpack and placed them on the ground before running away.

After running to a safe distance, he fired a shot behind him.

The flames ignited on the ground and flew forward like a fiery snake. A few seconds later, a violent explosion rose in place, creating a blazing fireball that blew the zombies flying.

At the same time, Zha Kang's magic was also ready.

Under the night sky, the seawater rolled strangely, and small waterspouts sucked the water flow into the sky. Then, with the posture of a violent storm, it swept across the burning pier, quickly weakening the raging fire, and then extinguished it with subsequent raindrops.

Under the cooperation of the three people, this zombie raid that could have dragged the entire Turtle Island into the abyss was suppressed. Constantine, who was soaking wet, walked to Mason's side and pointed to the place where the explosion had just occurred, surprised and asked, "What potion was that? It's so powerful!"

"That was three gasoline barrels."

Mason replied expressionlessly, making Zha Kang look at him strangely.

The young man shrugged and explained, "It's just a little trick.""I'm not just an alchemist, I'm also an engineer. Isn't it normal for an engineer to carry a gasoline can with him?"

"Boss! Are you guys safe? The drunkards in the town came out to help. These cowards didn't have the guts to show their faces until we won."

Charles' voice came through Mason's earpiece. He said somewhat awkwardly, "And when I fell just now, I crashed through the roof of a tavern and injured a few people. We might have to pay for it later."

As it turned out, even the desperate survivors in the apocalypse still had some sense of reason. They didn't rudely demand compensation from the "Turtle Island saviors."

In fact, the group of drunken men who rushed out of the town were immediately stopped in their tracks by a row of stone statues. A few guys who seemed to be leaders whispered about the "wizard" and carefully avoided the lifelike human statues before swinging their weapons and smashing the zombie statues to pieces.

"Ah, powerful wizard lords, thank you for extinguishing the mess caused by those damn zombies. You have saved the town and are great benefactors to us all. We must thank you two and the strange guy who fell from the sky."

A guy with a wooden leg, a pirate hook on his left hand, and one eye walked up to Mason and Zack, warmly welcoming them. This guy was probably a prominent figure on Turtle Island. In fact, his appearance alone was enough to recognize him as a pirate captain.

"Just verbal thanks won't do?"

Zack lit his pipe and flicked a floating fireball with his finger, elongating his voice as he said, "Don't you have something more substantial to offer?"

This move made the pirate in front of him somewhat wary. He turned to discuss with a few merchants behind him before smiling and saying, "Turtle Island is a generous place. You two can take whatever you want from the warehouse on the pier, as long as you can carry it."

"Also, may we have the honor of knowing your names? I've been in this sea for thirty years and haven't heard of you two..."

Mason tossed something to the guy who was testing their identities. He looked down and saw a well-made voodoo doll, then quickly flipped it over to see the mark that only pirates could understand. His face changed.

Like touching hot coals, he quickly handed the voodoo doll back to Mason and spoke in a more obsequious tone, "So it's the Revenge of Queen Anne's Revenge crew. To be honest, I have some acquaintance with the cunning and evil Captain Barbossa..."

"Is that so? But I have no acquaintance with him."

Mason took back the voodoo doll from Old K and spoke coldly with an air of superiority."I am friends with Edward Titch, not with Barbosa! I heard that my friend died and his famous ship was taken, so I came here. Tell me, pirate, where is Barbosa?"

The old pirate in front of him bent his waist even deeper. The black face, full of scars and wrinkles, also oozed sweat. Listening to the tone of these two guys, they had a big background, and even the legendary pirate Barbosa, who was now hot on the sea, did not care about them? Moreover, it sounded like this matter was related to the death of another legendary pirate, "Blackbeard". Tsk tsk, the water was really deep!

But no matter whether it was true or false, he couldn't afford to provoke such a character, so he could only smile and say, "Barbosa, that old dog, is leading his fleet to Turtle Island, sir. You can stay here for a few days and you will be able to see him. In fact, not only Barbosa, but the other pirate kings are also on their way here. Turtle Island is honored to be the venue for the third Pirate King Conference, and it will be very lively here in a few days."

"Okay."

Mason entered his "drama king" mode, waved his hand, and said coldly, "I won't go to your noisy bar to join in the fun. I will stay at the pier these days, and my slaves will conduct some trades on your island in my name. Keep an eye on your drunkards and don't let them bother me. Otherwise, my friend will be very unhappy."

After Mason finished speaking, the scumbag, who was very good at pretending to be tough, immediately laughed a few times in cooperation.

When it came to being a villain and pretending to be a god, he was very good at it. With a snap of his fingers, the dark green firefly turned into a screaming skull and rushed towards the crowd, exploding in a burst of sparks, burning and rolling several unlucky guys.

Now, no one doubted Mason and the scumbag's "wizard" identity anymore. In this sea of superstition and ignorance, even in the era of the approaching doomsday, wizards and prophets who wielded mysterious supernatural powers were still awe-inspiring figures.

"Meow~"

A dry cat's cry made the old pirate look up in surprise at this moment. Then he saw Mason take out a delicate birdcage from his arms like magic and make it grow bigger in his hand. In that birdcage, a zombie cat with crimson eyes was staring at the fresh flesh and blood in front of it like a little tiger.

The old pirate couldn't help but retreat two steps in horror. He looked at the two mysterious "wizards" in front of him in fear. At this moment, when all survivors regarded "zombies" as savage beasts from ancient times, how could someone dare to actively domesticate these beasts of the end that brought death?

He couldn't afford to provoke them!

Confirmed, he really couldn't afford to provoke them.

"Get lost! Don't come and bother me."

Mason snorted, put the "disguise prop" voodoo birdcage back into his arms, and waved his hand. The group of drunkards immediately respectfully stepped back. And now the petrified living beings also recovered, one by one crawling on the ground, trembling and dare not look up at the terrible wizard.

In a few minutes, the entire pier returned to calm.

"Not bad, I started to think that you also have the talent to become a super swindler."

Constantine whistled at Mason, staring at the voodoo doll in his hand and said:

"Is this also the 'legacy' left by the old K?"

"It has expired, but it is indeed a very useful 'identity card' on the high seas."

Mason threw the voodoo doll in his hand to Zha Kang.

The latter took it and immediately recognized that this was the witchcraft of the Voodoo Cult, and a close friend of Zha Kang, the Midnight Daddy who runs a nightclub in New York, is a priest of the Voodoo Cult.

But the voodoo doll in Mason's hand is obviously older and more evil.

"Let's go, let's go and check the loot."

Mason glanced at the zombie corpses gathered around, and then at the several stranded burning ships behind him. He and Zha Kang walked towards the warehouse on the pier that had been burned more than half.

These pirates are really stingy and cunning, and they actually gave this thing as a gift to the benefactor who just saved them.

However...

"So many magic silk threads?"

As soon as Zha Kang entered the warehouse, he found something good. He picked up a blue thread from a box that was burned more than half and checked it. He said to Mason:

"The quality is good! It is an enchanted genuine product that should be of high value anywhere, but now it is just casually thrown in the warehouse guarded by the pirates.

Look at this, even the place where they bury the donkey is more particular than this!

Do they not know the value of this thing?

Or do they just not care?"

Mason kicked open a broken box on the ground and picked up a piece of ore that emitted a yellow fluorescent light in the dark. Soon, an information label popped up:

Mountain Blood Ore

Quality: Fine Mineral

Effect: After smelting with appropriate tools, magic metal can be obtained. After professional screening, there is a chance to obtain magic gems for jewelry processing. After professional grinding, it can be used for alchemy or sand and graphite ink for inscription engraving.

Tip: Hold jewelry processing branch items, jewelry processing branch skills are opened, currently at Lv0.

"Boom"

Red magic fire jumped out of Mason's five fingers and began to burn the original ore in his hand. While trying to smelt the ore, he said to Zha Kang, who was constantly "treasure hunting":

"Do you think this is strange? John, think more about the world background."

Mason shook his head and said:

"With the medical conditions and reaction speed of this era, the outbreak of the zombie disaster is an irresistible doomsday catastrophe, and all the survivors in the world are struggling on the sea.

But they didn't run out empty-handed, John.

They brought out their most cherished wealth!""Nowadays, all the wealth in the world is gathered on this sea, and what we have in this warehouse is just a tiny fraction of the 'Doomsday Treasure'."

"It's not even a drop in the bucket."

The survivors on this island are not unaware of the value of these things, but they are almost out of their minds. The world is about to be destroyed. What's the use of these things?

In this situation, the priceless magic silk thread is not as precious as a moldy bread.

"This island is a treasure trove."

The young man looked at the stones that were constantly being peeled off and the gradually forming small pieces of metal in the burning magic fire in his hand, and a smile appeared on his face in this dark warehouse.

He whispered:

"As for how much we can get from this treasure trove, it depends on our abilities, John."
