Vol.2 - Chapter 8 – The new DLC "Cannibal Night" for Resident Evil·Gotham has been released

When the Italians first crossed the ocean to North America, they brought two specialties from their homeland: pizza and the Mafia.

Mason obviously preferred the former.

Of course, Gotham also had the Mafia. The Falcone family had been vying for control of the city's black zones with other gangs, but that was a long time ago.

They belonged to the traditional villain camp, which had fallen out of favor after the emergence of one super villain after another. Even the likes of the Penguin, who was somewhere between a traditional villain and a super villain, could ride on their heads.

But with the tragic death of the Penguin in the fire at Blackgate Prison, and the downfall of the entire Penguin gang, the Falcone family seemed to have undergone a second spring.

They had already taken over all the Iceberg Lounge bars in Gotham, except for the first one owned by the Penguin.

As long as they took down the Mafia there, they could declare themselves back on top.

Although Mason had entrusted the operation of the bar to the Kite Man, he knew about the recent series of fires on Glacier Avenue. Therefore, those who coveted the "K Squad Headquarters" had become Mason's first target in tonight's special operation.

In the Falcone family's stronghold, Mason, wearing a stealth suit, quietly approached the main distribution box of this three-story old building. He did not touch it to avoid leaving fingerprints, but instead lifted the Penguin umbrella and gently twisted the handle.

The implanted intracranial interferer was activated in EMP mode, and sparks flew out of the distribution box. Then, in the pungent smell of burnt, the entire building instantly plunged into darkness.

"Snap"

The voodoo birdcage was placed on the ground, and a pair of crimson eyes opened in the darkness.

Miss McGee seemed to have smelled the scent of flesh and blood nearby. She became restless, pacing back and forth in the cage, her tail, which had regrown fur due to the healing effect of the resurrection stone, stood up.

"Go, I have investigated and there is no innocent person in this building."

Mason squatted down and opened the birdcage for a moment. The zombie cat rushed out like lightning, light-footed and silent in the darkness.

But it did not pounce on the approaching footsteps, instead crouching a few steps away from Mason in a vigilant posture, looking back at the young man.

Mason also stared at it.

"You have regained some sanity. At least you can understand what I'm saying."

After staring at the cat for several seconds, he whispered:

"If this were before, you would have pounced on me the moment you were released from the cage. But now you can distinguish my breath. You know I brought you from that doomsday world to here, and I feed you every day.

Miss McGee.

If you can understand me, answer me, and we can talk."

"Meow~"

The response to Mason was a mournful howl.

At the moment the cat cried out, Miss McGee jumped up, kicking the wall like lightning and pouncing on the face of a Mafia gunman who had come to check the distribution box.

Her sharp virus claws instantly cut open the guy's trachea, injecting the lethal substance into his bloodstream.

The fresh flesh and blood stimulated this confused cat, making it unable to restrain its bloodthirsty desire and rushing into the unsettling darkness.

Mason watched Miss McGee disappear and did not follow her to avoid leaving unnecessary footprints. Instead, he returned to the first floor and locked all the doors and windows along the way.

"Bang"He took out a flying claw gun that looked very similar to the bat hook lock gun from his waist and shot it towards the roof, then soared into the air when the hook lock tightened.

This thing was one of the combat accessories that Mason had just made three hours ago during his first encounter with Batman. The principle was not difficult but very practical.

Wearing his invisibility cloak, he sat on the eaves of this three-story old building, patiently waiting while listening to the piercing curses, chaotic gunshots, and fearful screams coming from the building below.

In such a narrow and enclosed area, facing agile and deadly enemies like zombie cats, bullets fired from guns were useless except for boosting courage.

About ten minutes later, a black shadow jumped out of the ventilation duct on the top floor.

Miss McGee licked her crimson lips and took steps leaving behind cute cat paw prints, intending to cross the eaves and go further.

But a cough from behind made the just-satisfied tiger-striped cat, which was hungry for killing, alert and turn around.

Mason took off the hood of his invisibility cloak, took out the voodoo birdcage in his hand, and squatted on the ground, beckoning to the zombie cat in front of him. There was a noticeable emotional fluctuation in the cat's crimson eyes.

Mr. Potter at the ruins of Hogwarts, even though he turned into a zombie under the effect of the resurrection stone, still maintained a certain degree of sanity. Mason had reason to believe that the fragments of the resurrection stone he put into Miss McGee's belly could have the same effect.

Even if it couldn't make this cat turn back into a wise and powerful witch professor, at least it could make it possible for her to be "tamed."

"Come here, miss."

Mason said, "Things here are over. I'll take you to another place where there are all bad guys, and you can hunt to your heart's content."

"Meow~"

The creepy and terrifying sound echoed in the dark night, temporarily satisfying the desire for flesh and blood and reducing the cat's aggression. It hesitated for a moment.

It looked back at another eaves behind it and the city in the distance under the dark night, then looked back at Mason and the birdcage in his hand.

It took a step back.

Mason immediately took out another tattered item and put it in the birdcage. It was the torn school hat brought out from Hogwarts, one of the things Miss McGee was most familiar with.

"Meow!"

This time, the tiger-striped cat didn't hesitate. It swooped into the cage and tore the tattered hat to pieces.

The young man smiled.

He closed the birdcage and put it back in his arms, then took out the signal diagram given by Kite Man and selected the next target.

Thirty minutes later, in the Batcave, Bruce Wayne, who had finished dinner, silently put on the Bat helmet. The cool Batmobile was slowly rising from the underground garage on the dark-toned lift behind him.

"Open city monitoring and search for criminal events."

Master's hoarse voice sounded, and the electronic system built into the combat suit immediately linked with the Bat computer, summarizing all the events happening in Gotham City.

A few seconds later, a distress call from frightened citizens calling the police caught Batman's attention.

"Quick! Come here! There are monsters on this street! They're all monsters in that house! Zombies! Oh my God! Zombies! Who will save us!"

"Hmm?"

It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from bit.ly/3iBfjkV.

Master immediately frowned.

The word "zombie" reminded him of the raging fire at Blackgate Prison, and a sense of unease rose in Batman's heart."He didn't jump into the Batmobile, but instead shot his grappling gun towards a higher platform in the Batcave. A few seconds later, the ghostly Batwing sped out and disappeared into the night.

"Barbara, I need you to take over the monitoring system immediately. The Bat-network permission has been granted to you."

Batman contacted his most trusted logistics and intelligence personnel and said to Barbara Gordon:

"Activate citywide surveillance! I need to see all information related to 'zombie sightings'!"

"Understood! Searching now."

Barbara's calm voice echoed in the secure network communication. A few seconds later, the girl exclaimed:

"There are three places! Reports of zombie sightings have appeared almost simultaneously in three places, all of which are Falcone family territory! There are currently no reports of zombie attacks, but you must eliminate those monsters immediately! Their infectiousness is too terrible."

"I'm already on my way."

The ominous premonition came true, causing Master's heart to sink.

He drove the Batwing down from the clouds, approaching the chaotic streets below, and instructed Barbara:

"Request that Gordon immediately dispatch heavily armed police to disperse the onlookers, set up a blockade, and do not approach until I have finished dealing with it!"

The black Batwing opened the hovering mode, and Batman's figure fell accurately on the roof of the old building with his cape open.

This time, Master wasn't unarmed.

He took a strange black gun from the weapon slot on his back, kicked open the stairs, and there were muffled noises and monster roars echoing in the old building.

Batman doesn't kill people.

But zombie monsters are not human.

So Batman can kill zombies.

Doesn't this syllogism make sense?

Five minutes later, while the Batwing was flying towards the second zombie sighting location, Barbara's serious voice sounded again in the communication.

This time it was still bad news.

"Miller Port has zombie activity, Bruce! It's still Falcone family territory. Their smuggling den has been exposed. But it's too close to the city's sewer system, and I'm afraid..."

"I'll rush over immediately!"

Master turned the control lever and the Batwing quickly turned to fly towards the pier.

Of course, the other two zombie sighting locations couldn't be ignored, so Master called his assistant.

"Tim, I need your help."

"I'm already on my way! Bruce, you go to the pier, and I'll take care of the other two places."

---

"Four places should be enough, right?"

Mason carried his suitcase and walked into the address of Scarecrow's hideout. It was a rather dilapidated and desolate bar.

"Let's see Gotham's reaction first. If it's not enough, we'll continue to increase the stakes tomorrow night. But we need to plan the route carefully. Tonight's events must have already alerted the Bat-kid.

It's really exciting to do this under his nose."

The young man muttered under his breath.

Standing at the door of the bar, he watched the flying engineering bomb he controlled fall into the night, and then took his Bat-phone from the drone-like gadget and put it in his pocket.

When he got this phone, he was certain that there was a locator in it specially prepared by the Bat-kid for him.

He originally wanted to take it apart.

But Batman's black technology with energy capacity was too much. To dismantle the locator without triggering the alarm signal, he needed Engineering Level 4!

This means that Mason must learn to hide and forge his whereabouts in a short period of time.Fortunately, this is a physical locator with only the simple function of recording the itinerary and sending signals, and it does not go too far to pry into Mason's personal privacy. It seems that the master also has a bottom line in this regard.

Even though he had already been secretly monitoring the entire city, even the whole world.

The young man walked up to the empty bar counter.

He knocked on the table and said to the old man sitting there listening to the radio, "Hello, I'm a friend of Constantine's. I'm here to buy the things on this list."

He handed over the material list from Zha Kang, but the old man didn't take it. Instead, he took out a double-barreled shotgun from under the counter and pointed it at Mason, shouting angrily, "Constantine? That scum owes five debts here! Want something? Fine, pay off your scumbag friend's debts first!"

"Tsk, I knew it!"

Mason sneered.

Under the threat of the black barrel in front of him, he placed the suitcase on the bar counter and took out a small box from it, which contained a whole row of various effect potions.

He pushed the potions over and said, "Is this enough?"

"It's enough for two times, but there are still three times owed."

The old man picked up a bottle of potion and said indifferently. Mason then took out a box of melted magic metal and threw it over.

This was considered paying off Zha Kang's debts.

Then he asked for the magic item list that this store could provide and was pleasantly surprised to find that there were many materials he urgently needed. It was indeed a store specializing in spellcasters.

"Why are you hanging out with guys like Constantine when you're so young?"

As the old man prepared the materials on the list for Mason, he couldn't help but complain, "That guy is a moving disaster! Stay away from him, young man."

"I have no choice. I work for him now, and that bastard put a curse on me."

Mason said pitifully, and then took out a Philosopher's Stone and threw it on the table, saying, "I'll use this to pay."

"What is this?"

The old man picked up the small gray stone.

He could feel that it was a magical item, but he didn't know its purpose. Mason asked him to take any potion from the store and then threw the Philosopher's Stone into it.

A few minutes later, to the old man's surprise, the magical concentration of the potion was almost visible to the naked eye.

"It can be used eight times and can extract almost any potion. But don't use it on low-level potions, it's not worth it."

Mason introduced, "This is my unique skill. If you want it in the future, you can come to the 'Cooper's Mysterious Supplies Store' in Crime Alley to buy it. I welcome professionals like you to visit."

Of course, it can also be used to enhance the taste of drinks.

"However, Gotham is a place of right and wrong, young man."

The old man shook his head and said, "We who have one foot in another circle should not be too famous. There are some strange things wandering in this city, and they don't like magic..."

"This is what you want, welcome to come again."

After completing the transaction, Mason walked out of the bar with his suitcase and saw Miss McGee squatting on the side of the street licking her paws.

The young man glanced in the direction of Miller Harbor in the distance.

He reached out and took out a birdcage and waved it at the tiger-striped cat. The latter flew over and grabbed the Sorting Hat in the cage, curling up as if to "digest" it."These zombie-like magical beasts have terrifying senses, especially their sense of smell. It seems that I need to find some of Hagrid's belongings to tame Mao Mao and Ya Ya."

Mason put the shrunken birdcage into his pocket, picked up his suitcase, and walked across the street to hail a taxi, only to suddenly feel a breeze behind him.

He turned around cautiously, gripping his penguin umbrella, and saw Batman standing in the shadows behind him like a ghost.

"Do you always have to play such a nasty game when you appear?"

Mason patted his chest and complained:

"Fortunately, I don't have a heart condition."

"What are you doing here?"

Batman asked in a hoarse voice.

Mason patted the suitcase in his hand and said:

"I came to buy some magic supplies at that bar not far away. It's Gotham City's magic supply store. You should know about it, right?"

"Hmm."

The master nodded, and after a few seconds of silence, he said:

"The 'three-headed dog' is back."

"Who?"

Mason was taken aback and asked:

"Is there a new supervillain in town? How come I haven't heard of this nickname?"

"The wizard who captured you, I gave him a nickname. He attacked the gang's stronghold in the city with zombie beasts tonight. He is very likely to be tracking you."

The master, who had just dealt with the sudden incident at Miller Port, looked at Mason and said in a hoarse voice:

"Stay alert recently."

Mason's heart skipped a beat.

It wasn't because he was afraid that the master would discover his actions.

But because he knew very well that there was no villain in this world called the "three-headed dog." Or rather, the real "three-headed dog" was standing right in front of the master.

This face-to-face conversation between the tracker and the tracked was really thrilling, especially when you were being pursued by Batman himself.

Moreover...

He had actually been "appointed" a villainous nickname by the master, probably even listed in the Bat database, with his information lying in a folder alongside the likes of the Joker, Ra's al Ghul, and Bain.

The young man pursed his lips and glanced at Batman in front of him.

Why did he even feel a little honored?
