Vol.2 - Chapter 36 – The awesome Kite Man is about to embark on the legendary story of Gotham's villains--

Arkham Asylum, the carnival of super villains has come to an end.

After burning more than a dozen people, they felt bored with the newly acquired freedom and prepared to go out for some fun. However, it was obvious that the assassins of the Assassin Alliance guarding the door would not let them leave easily.

"The Assassin Alliance has fulfilled its promise to you. Now it's time for you to fulfill your promise to us."

A commander wearing a retro cloak said to the super villains, and then he proposed the plan of "Gotham's Destruction" and successfully aroused the interest of the villains.

They began to form temporary teams to complete this task and divide the control of the city after the war.

The Assassin Alliance does not seem to intend to immediately throw the super villains into the already chaotic Gotham City. They are happy to see the villains gather here to discuss "future events."

Not only that, but more villains are summoned to Arkham Asylum to "join in the fun" by this group of "Gotham's top players."

While they were discussing enthusiastically, at the top of the asylum, which had been transformed into a helipad area, the tall and thin commander of the Assassin Alliance was waiting with Mr. Sandstorm, who was wearing a robe, for the arrival of the real person in charge of the Assassin Alliance.

And at the forefront of this heavily guarded area, the "Crimson Knight" wearing a red helmet and a mechanical-style battle suit was also waiting for instructions for the next action.

"He's pretty good."

Mr. Sandstorm, wearing a mask, looked at the Crimson Knight in the distance and said to the tall and thin commander in an appreciative tone.

"He has great potential! After experiencing resurrection and abandoning the hypocritical 'justice,' and being strengthened by the waters of the Lazarus Pit, he is like a walking killing machine with extremely advanced tactical skills.

Perhaps after this operation is completed, I can take him away."

"That would be his honor, sir."

The tall and thin commander of the assassins said respectfully.

"To join your organization means to leave this boring and pathetic reality and enter a truly vast world, not to mention having a strong guide like you to lead him forward.

As one of his mentors, I am happy for Jason.

But...

You also promised to leave a place for another child in your team."

"Of course, Damian."

Mr. Sandstorm let out a deep laugh and said:

"Please rest assured, Ms. Talia. In the multiple collaborations with the Assassin Alliance, I have seen the potential of your son, who has been carefully trained by the Assassin King. He will definitely shine in the future.

After the Assassin Alliance rules the world, I will take him away as promised.

But he is still too young.

His potential needs time to be fully realized, so I will put him in my reserve team first.

Please don't worry, ma'am.

I can guarantee that his teammates are all top talents from another world. In fact, if you are not confident in your own child, I am also willing to leave a commander position for you in my upcoming logistics servant army.

Although it looks scary, I believe you will enjoy this kind of life."

"I'll pass. After my father fulfills his wish and leaves with you, the Assassin Alliance still needs someone in charge in this world."

The tall and thin commander of the assassins declined Mr. Sandstorm's invitation and said:

"I stay here to serve our common interests."

"You're right. Every vassal world needs a capable and courageous ruler. Your intelligence and judgment are indeed very suitable."

Mr. Sandstorm was not disappointed either.

As a level member, he had too many choices when it came to recruiting members, and he had high standards, unlike a certain captain of the K team who was not picky at all.

He had been operating in this dangerous world for months, and after successfully inviting the Assassin King, the Demon Lord Lei Xiaogu, to his main force team, he lost interest in other choices that were not "outstanding" or too dangerous.

Being a level member in the Starry Sky Society was actually quite embarrassing.

Just talking about recruiting members.

It was difficult to recruit top powerhouses like Wonder Woman, Steel, or even Green Arrow, and the group of super villains currently having a meeting below did not catch their attention.

Not to mention the ruthless characters like the Kryptonian Superman or Dr. Manhattan, who even the three mentors of the Starry Sky Society would be defeated by. He didn't dare to touch them.

The best team members were always the ones he cultivated himself!

This was a truth recognized by the captains of the Starry Sky Society's various teams. Unfortunately, how could there be no casualties in the process of constantly climbing to become stronger?

Therefore, for a captain, collecting team members was an endless task, just like drawing cards. Sometimes, it couldn't just rely on financial resources, but also luck.

For example, Jason Todd, the promising Crimson Knight, surprised Mr. Sandstorm, while Damian, the ill-tempered brat, was not of much concern to him.

In his opinion, Damian was just a mischievous child who took advantage of the protection of his grandfather and mother to do whatever he wanted.

If it weren't for the earnest request of this elegant lady, he wouldn't have agreed to take Damian.

At this moment, Mr. Sandstorm was fantasizing about causing chaos in the world after this mission, and when the high-level teams of the Starry Sky Society entered to clean up and advance, he, as one of the pioneers of this world, could operate up and down and maybe choose this level world as his new base world.

By then, he would have the foundation to be promoted to a level member.

Sigh, this line of work is really exhausting. The endless tasks are overwhelming.

"My father has entered the airspace of Gotham City."

A few minutes later, the tall and thin commander of the assassins reported to Mr. Sandstorm.

"Your father's..."The 'goods' will be personally escorted by him, and you will be able to see it in ten minutes."

"Not bad, very good."

Mr. Sandstorm nodded in satisfaction.

He felt that his dream might be realized tonight, and he should gather the members who were active elsewhere to come to Gotham for the final step.

But before going to gather the members, his partner asked softly:

"Are there any of those distinctive individuals below that catch your eye?"

"Them?"

Mr. Sandstorm shrugged, revealing a disdainful smile beneath his starry mask, and said with a sneer:

"Take them all. Those of us in this line of work can never have too many cannon fodders. I will hand them over to your father to command."

"Well, I will prepare to implant micro-bombs in them."

The slender commander said softly:

"When you leave, I guarantee that the cannon fodders will be ready."

After speaking, she watched Mr. Sandstorm disappear into the night of Arkham as a gust of wind and sand. Talia Al Ghul looked up, and a glimmer of light flashed in her beautiful eyes beneath the hood.

A few seconds later, she whispered:

"Damian... There is only one thing your mother can do for you..."

"Sir! Someone claiming to be 'Kite Man' has brought us the latest news!"

A fully armed elite assassin from the League of Assassins rushed over like a ghost, and he whispered to Lady Talia:

"The Batman has appeared! Just now, Kite Man saw him with James Gordon and a group of assembled police officers rushing into Wayne Tower and rescuing the hostages!"

"The Batman? Impossible!"

Talia's face changed slightly, and she said:

"His toxin is impossible to neutralize, Jason!"

She turned around and shouted to the Red Knight behind her:

"A person resembling Batman has appeared, get ready! If it's really him, he will definitely come here."

"Click."

The high-tech pistol in the Red Knight's hand made a soft sound as the safety was released. He nodded silently and disappeared on the rooftop.

Talia breathed a sigh of relief and asked the assassin warriors behind her:

"Where is Damian?"

"The young master went to the Batcave. He joined Bain's operation team and wants to settle his dispute with the Batman there."

The cold warrior said coldly:

"Also, my lady, the mercenary 'Deathstroke' that you favored has once again rejected our invitation for cooperation in a certain mission for LexCorp. But he said that as long as the money is enough, cooperation is not impossible."

"Damn it! Put Deathstroke's matter aside for now."

Talia clenched her fist in frustration and said:

"Tell Damian to come back immediately! This brat is really disobedient!"

At the same time, "Kite Man" also put away his somewhat ridiculous kite and swaggered into Arkham Asylum under the escort of several assassin warriors.

He saw Two-Face, who had changed into his iconic black and white suit, talking loudly on the platform where the charred corpses still remained in the hall. And on the Gotham map behind Two-Face, this burning city was divided into many parts, big and small, just like an auction.

The scoundrels here were imagining the city they would dominate after tonight.

"Charles" walked towards the lively venue and looked around in the crowd. A few seconds later, when he sat down, a message was sent through the newly activated Bat Network's secure communication, sent by his own wristwatch.

"Hey, look who it is! Gotham's new crime star! The guy who single-handedly slaughtered the Falcone family, Kite Man, has finally arrived!"

Two-Face's strange tone echoed in the venue, and he shouted:

"Stand up, Charles! Although you used to be a pathetic loser, following the Joker to eat some leftovers, now you have proven yourself with strength and are qualified to be one of us.

Come on!

Tell everyone, in the new Gotham ruled by the 'Evil League,' which part of the territory do you want?"

Kite Man coughed.

He stood up and made a slightly naive gesture as usual, saying:

"I don't mind, Harvey. Just don't give me a lousy place. I think my current Iceberg Lounge is pretty good. By the way, where is my predecessor?

Why isn't Zhou Kuo'er here?

Isn't he always up for this kind of fun?"

"Zhou Kuo'er? Hehe."

Two-Face and a group of supervillains laughed:

"That guy is in trouble. Look up, Kite Man, your predecessor is hanging on the flagpole. Those black-clad ninjas said they will kill him at dawn.

Tsk tsk, how pitiful.

But this is a good thing.

It means one less scoundrel to share the territory with us."

---

"Message received."

On the two Batmobiles speeding towards the city outskirts, the members who were preparing to retake the Batcave were tidying up their equipment. Nightwing suddenly spoke and read out the message sent by "Kite Man":

"Killer Croc, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Riddler, and Solomon Grandi, these five guys are not in Arkham. They are likely dispatched by the League of Assassins to defend the city or the vicinity of the Batcave. We need to be cautious against attacks."

"What about the situation in the Batcave?"

Mason, sitting in the passenger seat, asked. Nightwing shook his head and said:

"Barbara can't break through the defense system that is being rewritten alone. We don't know how many enemies are there. We can only do our best."

"Well, it seems we'll have to use some unexpected tricks."

Mason blinked, took out his phone, dialed a number, and said to the other side:

"Selina, you and Charles go ahead and scout, be careful not to expose yourselves."

"Understood, Mason."The flying motorcycle in the sky, parallel to two Batmobiles, immediately accelerated. The Catwoman, wearing ruby goggles, kept revving the engine, taking the lead to fly towards Wayne Manor. Meanwhile, she pulled out the "kitten" that Mason had given her from her bag while driving single-handedly.

"Miss McGee, are you ready for a feast?"

Catwoman grinned, sending a chill down the spine of the real Kite Man sitting in the car.

He whispered:

"The boss has instructed that if we are to use them, we must set up the scene properly, disguising it as the traces of the 'Cerberus'."

"Less talk, I'm a professional in this aspect."

Selina huffed, a flash of anger in her eyes. She said softly:

"I held Barbara when she was a little girl. These bastards dare to use that child, I will make them pay. Charles, get your two 'big dogs' ready!"

"I can't control them."

The Kite Man, holding a magic briefcase, knew what Catwoman was talking about. He said with some worry:

"If they run out in the chaos, it's over."

"Shut up! I'll take care of retrieving them. You just need to cooperate at the crucial moment."

Catwoman sneered:

"Also, you are the 'Cerberus' tonight, got it? Put on your black robe, and remember to show up in front of the Bat Family to make your presence felt. And don't forget to recite those embarrassing lines Mason gave you."

Behind the members of Team K preparing for mischief, two Batmobiles were also accelerating. Nightwing's car No.1 was communicating with Alfred, the "Butler Hero", driving car No.2.

They planned to adopt a dispersed approach, relying on the strong defense and firepower of the Batmobile to directly break into the Bat Cave.

It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from "pawread.com".

"What should Barbara and I do in the future?"

As they approached the battlefield, Nightwing suddenly asked, causing Mason, who was pressing a box of cursed bullets into the gun chamber, to pause. The young man sneered:

"I'm just a 17-year-old. I've never been in love. The woman I'm closest to is Selina Kyle, who is twenty years older than me. Are you sure you still want my opinion?"

"Being with you always makes people unconsciously ignore your age, Mason. You seem more mature than me."

Nightwing gave a bitter smile:

"Go ahead, consider it a pre-battle relaxation."

"Alright, my suggestion is to take a break for a while."

Mason shrugged.

Looking at the dark forest passing by outside the car window, he said:

"Give Barbara some time to think it over. Don't force her to make a choice. The rift between her and Batman needs to be mended by themselves. You can only add chaos. After all, it's impossible for you to leave the Bat Family for love, so..."

"Snap"

In the middle of his speech, the young man suddenly noticed that the collar pin at his neckline was shining. He immediately pushed the steering wheel controlled by Nightwing hard to the side.

At the same time, a blue light shot out from the forest on the side, grazing the Batmobile and freezing the trees and the road on the opposite side.

The left front wheel of the Batmobile was also frozen while spinning at high speed.

This sudden situation made the speeding car lose control immediately, but the excellent self-control system of the Batmobile prevented it from overturning and instead crashed into the roadside.

Mason punched the eject button on the Batmobile.

The Batcycle that shot out at the moment the vehicle lost control and hit a large tree carried Nightwing and sped away. Car No.2 also skillfully avoided the explosions that kept lighting up on the road.

When they wanted to stop and help, Mason's deep voice and the sound of gunfire erupted from the communication of others.

He said:

"We've been discovered. The stealth tactic has failed. Charge in before they are prepared! I'll deal with these guys and follow up! Don't leave any trouble behind, everyone.

My potions and bullets don't discriminate."
