Chapter 2 – Birth of the World

Chen Luo was so exhausted that it took him a whole week to slightly recover. According to his estimation, it would take at least another month to fully regain his strength.

As for how much of his lifespan he had lost, Chen Luo couldn't be sure, but judging by how he felt, it was at least five years.

During this time, Chen Luo was surprised to discover that the notebook written with the Primordial Brush had one ancient character on its cover: "Genesis."

Upon opening "Genesis," Chen Luo could perceive the state of the created world and could even enter it with just a thought.

Since Chen Luo set the time flow ratio to one day in the real world equaling ten thousand years in the created world, seven days had passed, meaning seventy thousand years had gone by in the created world, bringing about earth-shattering changes.

Apart from the initial sky, ocean, sun, and moon, there were now countless stars, gravity on the earth, air, clouds, and wind.

Bacteria and algae had evolved over tens of thousands of years, covering the entire earth in green. The ocean floor housed thousands of types of algae, and invertebrates with shells had evolved, along with some fish with blue patterns on their bodies.

Unable to name them, he simply called them Blue Pattern Fish.

Chen Luo immediately began to focus on the evolution of these Blue Pattern Fish because the second function of the Primordial Brush was to extract genes from creatures in the created world.

By integrating the genes of creatures from "Genesis" into his own Divine Descendant Gene, he could ultimately unlock the Gene Lock.

Due to the different time flow, Chen Luo watched the sun and night alternate in "Genesis" like a fast-forwarding documentary.

In just one day, a new generation of Blue Pattern Fish had already emerged.

By the second day, the Blue Pattern Fish had multiplied, forming larger groups. A Leader Fish emerged, significantly larger than the average Blue Pattern Fish, leading its group to become the rulers of the ocean world.

On the third day, as the Blue Pattern Fish population exploded, other marine life became their food, and the first generation Leader Fish died, succeeded by the second generation.

On the fourth day, with the Blue Pattern Fish population continuing to surge, the ocean's microorganisms and algae could no longer sustain them, leading to cannibalism.

Seasons changed, and time flew by. In one day, the Blue Pattern Fish split into dozens of groups, led by different Leader Fish, hunting each other for survival.

To this end, they evolved larger bodies, sharper teeth, and stronger execution abilities. At a command from the Leader Fish, the entire group would follow orders unconditionally, like a military operation.

On the fifth day, two groups that failed in the ocean dominance struggle fled with the remaining Blue Pattern Fish to deeper waters, evolving into deep-sea fish.

Another group began approaching the continent, evolving limbs and moving towards land.

By the sixth day, the long-standing ocean dominance battle ended. The largest, most numerous, and sharpest-toothed group, named Blue Demon Fish by Chen Luo, became the sole rulers of the ocean.

On the seventh day, the Blue Pattern Fish that ventured onto land evolved into amphibians, rapidly multiplying and diversifying into different groups, enriching the "Genesis" world with species.

Witnessing the entire process, Chen Luo was deeply moved by the rapid evolution and survival struggle of the Blue Pattern Fish, adapting madly to their environment.

Though life in this world was still in its early stages, it was diverse and full of infinite possibilities.

Chen Luo couldn't help but marvel at the tenacity and wonder of life.

Next, with a thought, Chen Luo commanded in his mind, "Analyze the Blue Demon Fish gene."

The key to unlocking the Gene Lock was to enhance the Divine Descendant Gene within him. At this moment, Chen Luo's Divine Descendant Gene was only at 0.1%, far from the 5% needed to unlock the First-Order Gene Lock.

The creatures created in the Primordial Brush world could have their valuable genes extracted and integrated into his Divine Descendant Gene.

If valuable, they would enhance the Divine Descendant Gene and promote its growth.

[Analyzing... Primitive life, evolved to its peak, gene value low, unable to integrate into Divine Descendant Gene, evaluation: ordinary.]

Hearing the prompt in his mind, Chen Luo felt a wave of disappointment. He hadn't expected the world's first ruler to have no value.

If even the strongest Blue Demon Fish had no value, other species would be even less so.

As Chen Luo exited "Genesis" in disappointment, he was surprised to find a new line of text on the first page.

[Precambrian Era, ancient life emerged from hundreds of millions of years of evolution, bacteria and blue-green algae flourished, evolving into shelled invertebrates, history transitioned from the Hidden Life Era to the Manifest Life Era, with Blue Demon Fish becoming the rulers of this era.]

Seeing this, Chen Luo quickly understood that after he wrote those words, the world automatically evolved into its current state.

If Chen Luo wanted to create more things in this world, he would have to write after this text.

Of course, if he wanted to change this text, like turning Blue Demon Fish into Green Demon Fish, it wasn't impossible, but the cost would be very high, leaving him exhausted for months.

Chen Luo began to feel a headache. The Blue Demon Fish had no value, meaning he had to create valuable species anew.

But he wasn't a biologist; how could he know which species' genes were valuable and which weren't?

Suddenly, an idea struck Chen Luo. He didn't know, but there were plenty of people in this world who did.

His wisdom was ultimately limited and too constrained. Even if he created species, they would be within his own knowledge scope, and their value wouldn't be too high.

It would be better to gather ideas from many people, bringing in thousands to help create species. With a large enough base, countless valuable species could naturally be created.

He recalled a sandbox game he once played called "Spore," where players started as spores, evolving and multiplying into various bizarre creatures.

"So... how do I get more people to come in and help me create new species..."

Chen Luo pondered for a moment, then suddenly had a flash of inspiration. Since the idea came from a game, why not turn "Genesis" into an online game?

Let others' consciousness enter the Genesis world, treating species evolution as a game, evolving new species for him!

The Primordial Brush had the power to create worlds, allowing even the main body to enter Genesis, let alone just a consciousness.

For it, this function was a piece of cake.
