Chapter 26 – Getting even one in would be a success

"Xia Bing, Wang Meng, Li Zixuan, come out for a moment. The rest of you, study quietly!"

The homeroom teacher, Fang Ke, called out the top three students.

Although Beast Class Five had the worst grades, the top students still had a chance to make it into the Special Training Class.

"Looks like they really think I'm a poor student."

Chen Shu shook his head. Teacher Fang was clueless, not realizing that a rising star was emerging.

He yawned, ready to take a break.

"Chen Shu, come out for a moment!"

Suddenly, a rather stern voice sounded from the classroom door.

"Teacher Yan?"

Chen Shu stood up, puzzled, and followed him to the office.

Teacher Yan taught them the history of Beast Taming. He was strict and old-fashioned, and many students were quite afraid of him.

"Chen Pi, I just stepped into the office, and you're already following?"

Fang Ke's mouth twitched slightly, wondering why Chen Shu seemed to be everywhere.

"Teacher Yan called me," Chen Shu said, following him to a desk.

"Old Yan, did this kid get into trouble again?" Fang Ke asked.

"Hmph!" Teacher Yan's face was grim, dark clouds looming.

"He even cheated on a small test!"

At these words, Fang Ke's brows furrowed.

Cheating was a big issue, concerning school discipline. If taken seriously, it could lead to a disciplinary record.

"Chen Shu, what's going on?" Fang Ke asked.

"Cheating? Me?" Chen Shu looked bewildered. "Is there some mistake?"

"Still pretending? This is your history quiz from last week!"

Teacher Yan tossed out a test paper. It wasn't marked with a score, but every question was completely correct, with no errors.

But the most unusual thing was,

The name on it was Chen Shu, the last-place student in the monthly exam.

"Explain to me how you went from last place to first place in just one week," Teacher Yan demanded.

Options appeared before Chen Shu's eyes.

[Option 1: Nod and admit, saying, "I'm only seventeen, I just cheated once, what's wrong with that?" Reward: A small amount of Beast Power]

[Option 2: Deny the cheating accusation. Reward: High school-level Beast Material Knowledge]

Was there even a choice?

Chen Shu spread his hands and said passionately, "I, Chen Shu, would rather starve... cough, cough, I mean, I'd rather be last place, even lie down and do nothing, than cheat!"

"So you're really going to stick to that?" Fang Ke's forehead was lined with black lines.

"Teachers, I really didn't cheat."

Chen Shu sighed, "If I have to give a reason, it can only be talent, unparalleled talent! One in a million talent!"

"Alright, alright."

Fang Ke knew this one was about to start rambling again. In fact, he didn't really believe Chen Shu would cheat.

Not because he trusted his character,

But because someone who dared to score sixteen points, what score would he not dare to get?

"Teacher Yan, if you don't believe me, you can test me on any history question. I really know them all."

Chen Shu couldn't possibly explain to the two of them that it was because of the system.

The old-fashioned Teacher Yan still refused to believe Chen Shu.

He picked up the test paper.

"When did the first Dimensional Realm appear in China, and how was it suppressed?"

"In the fifth year of the Revival Calendar, the beasts inside were of the dark attribute. It was suppressed by the strongest three hundred people in China at the time."

"Hmm?"

Teacher Yan looked at Chen Shu with a hint of surprise, scrutinizing him repeatedly.

"When did China's strongest Dimensional Realm appear?"

It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from "pawread.com".

"In the 380th year of the Revival Calendar, to this day, the Dragon's Nest in Huayuan Province remains the most dangerous Dimensional Realm in our country. The beasts inside possess dragon lineage, and it's currently guarded by the First Legion of Spirit Suppression."

"What was the most critical moment in China's history?"

"In the 625th year of the Revival Calendar, twelve Dimensional Realms within China simultaneously revolted, countless beasts invaded, and the battle lasted twelve years. The major legions suffered heavy casualties before the turmoil was finally quelled."

Watching Chen Shu answer fluently, the others were dumbfounded.

Wasn't he supposed to be a poor student?

Not playing by the rules, huh?

"I just wanted to live a low-key life, but now I have no choice but to reveal my hand."

Chen Shu looked at his homeroom teacher, Fang Ke, his eyes full of confidence.

"I'll believe you for now," Fang Ke said, scrutinizing Chen Shu.

Teacher Yan continued to test Chen Shu with various questions, partly to verify, partly to help him consolidate his knowledge.

Fang Ke no longer paid attention to Chen Shu. Although surprised by his grasp of historical knowledge, it was a minor matter to him.

The final exam wasn't just about history.

Fang Ke returned to his desk, looking at the three top students in the class.

They were the hope of Beast Class Five!

Fang Ke cleared his throat and said passionately, "The Dragon Gate is right in front of you now. You must consider whether this is the only opportunity in your life."

"Reviving the glory of Beast Class Five is your unshirkable duty!"

For a moment, the three top students were filled with enthusiasm, feeling a great responsibility on their shoulders.

Hearing this, Chen Shu bluntly expressed his thoughts.

"Come on, getting even one in would be a success."
