Chapter 104 – Military company with backing

The company called "Euginbert" is a state-owned enterprise in Serbia. In Joja's eyes, a small fry like him, this company can be considered a behemoth.

Because its business scope ranges from visual guided missiles to automatic rifles, from armored vehicles to armed pickups, from cannons to mortars, from rockets to grenades, there is nothing they don't produce.

Although most of them are goods from the last century, the light weapons that are currently active around the world mostly still follow the designs of the last century.

The reason for this is that this state-owned trading company in Serbia has formed a business monopoly with their domestic arms companies.

With the support of the Serbian Ministry of Defense, "Euginbert" exports about 900 million US dollars worth of weapons annually.

Joja is not sure if there is any padding in this number, but he checked the prices and defense budget of Serbia, and this number is not small for them.

Compared to those well-known companies, this company is a good partner for small buyers like Joja. With a national background as support, the arms are cheap and abundant.

Most importantly, they need performance and sales.

Those who have worked in state-owned enterprises know that sometimes they first support the people to keep the factory running, even if they earn a little less or even lose a little, because the loss from stopping production is even greater.

The reputation of Serbian arms is not great, but it is enough for Africa. Compared to the ammunition produced by small workshops in the Middle East, Serbia is simply too conscientious.

Joja, who was engrossed in researching, forgot about lunch and stayed in the room until six in the afternoon, when his growling stomach finally woke him up.

He hurried out of the room to the kitchen to find something to eat, only to find that there was nothing that could be eaten quickly.

At this time, Nis walked over and took out a plate of baked flatbread from the oven, smiling and saying, "I called you twice at noon, but you didn't respond. Have a little to fill your stomach, and if it's not enough, I'll make you some soup."

Joja looked at the flatbread on the table...

The thin flatbread was cut into neat small pieces, baked until crispy in the oven, then drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled with black pepper and salt, mixed with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, and carrots, and finally squeezed with a little lemon juice.

This is a traditional food in Liberia. Joja doesn't know the specific name, but he has tasted Nis's cooking, and it's okay to eat when hungry.

Joja nodded at Nis and poured himself a glass of water, sitting at the table and starting to eat.

The crispy flatbread seemed especially sweet when hungry, and Joja had eaten half of it in just a few minutes.

After the feeling of hunger disappeared, Joja looked at Nis, who had changed into a pair of jeans and a T-shirt that could be dressed up, and said with a smile, "I think you should learn to put on makeup. You're a pretty girl, it's not good to go bare-faced all the time."

Nis lowered her head and smiled, shaking her head. "I don't need to. I feel good like this."

Joja didn't notice Nis's expression. He stuffed two pieces of flatbread into his mouth and said while chewing, "Where did Kaman go?"

Nis gestured with her eyes to the door and said, "I asked Kaman to go to the nearby store to buy some wine. They invited you as a guest, and you can't go empty-handed, can you?"

Joja looked at the MSL girl and shook his head. "You don't have to do this. There is wine in the cabin's wine cabinet, and we don't drink anyway. It's just a formality, and it's also money spent."

"Do you believe that even if I go empty-handed, that guy will still send me off respectfully and say 'thank you' before leaving?"

Nis was amused by Joja's words. "Thank you? Do you want someone who was almost suffocated by you this morning to say 'thank you' to you?"

Joja confidently said, "Look at the man's situation. As long as I can help him solve the problem, it's not impossible for him to call me 'dad'."

Nis didn't argue with Joja, but turned and went back to her room to make the final preparations before the visit.

This girl only speaks out her opinion decisively when the two of them disagree, and then Joja's words are final, and she won't argue anymore.

Fortunately, Joja is not a real villain, otherwise, this girl would have to help count the money even after being sold.

Joja can feel Nis's concerns, so he will tease her when there's nothing to do, making her say more, even if it's against him, it's still good.

Because Joja thinks of himself as an amateur, if everyone blindly believes in his authority, he is worried that he might lead the team into a pit.

Unfortunately, this girl is obedient and gives people a headache. Sometimes Joja feels a bit at a loss.

At 7:45, Joja saw Nis coming out of her room.

He felt that this girl seemed to have changed a bit, but he couldn't say exactly what it was.

When Nis walked to his side and reminded him that it was almost time, Joja finally noticed that this girl had applied a little lipstick.

The not-so-delicate face had a little makeup, and it seemed to make Nis suddenly come alive.

Joja stared at Nis for a long time, until he felt a little embarrassed for staring at her, then he smiled and said, "That's more like it. In the future, as long as you're not going to the battlefield, put on a little lipstick, you look quite pretty...

Well, how should I put it, it seems to have added a lot of vitality?"Ignoring Nis's somewhat odd expression, Joja waved to Kaman and said, "Let's set off. Let's meet that obsessive-compulsive arms dealer who can't stand not apologizing."

...

The trio didn't take a car but strolled along the mountain road lit by streetlights for a good distance, finally arriving at the wooden cabin rented by Ivanovich.

When Joja arrived, the Ivanovich couple was already standing on the grass under the cabin's porch, seemingly waiting for their arrival.

Gone was the middle-aged man reeking of alcohol and acting crazy from the morning; now, Ivanovich was dressed in slacks and a shirt, with a pair of black-framed glasses, looking more like a scholar than a salesman.

Seeing Joja and his companions arrive, he stepped forward to shake Joja's hand with a sincere tone, "I'm very sorry for what happened this morning. It was truly impolite.

I'm not usually like this, it's just..."

It's impolite to let a stranger share their private matters, so Joja gestured with his hand and said, "It's okay, actually, you're the one who has suffered."

Saying this, Joja looked at the abrasion on Ivanovich's cheek and Valentina, who always wore a smile, and said with a laugh, "Next time after drinking, don't wander on the mountain roads. If I had such a beautiful wife and daughter, I would never take the risk.

Losing them would surely be a lifelong regret!"

Ivanovich nodded in agreement, then turned to glance at Anna, who was hiding inside the house and refused to come out, shaking his head bitterly, "It's just that I love them too much.

Unfortunately, I'm really not suited for my current job, and I can't find a professional coach for Anna."

With a gloomy shake of his head, Ivanovich continued, "What kind of father would want his daughter to give up her dreams to become that damned model?"

Joja didn't know what had happened to Ivanovich, but he patted the man's arm to stop him from continuing.

Looking at Ivanovich, who seemed a bit uneasy for being interrupted before he could finish expressing himself, Joja said with a smile, "Maybe things aren't as bad as you imagine.

Anyway, from the look on Anna's face this morning, she definitely loves you!

Your wife mentioned you're a salesman for Euginbert Company. It just so happens I'm in the same line of work, and I have many questions I'd like to ask you."
