Chapter 105 – Compulsive 'Professor'

Joja and the other two were warmly invited into the Ivanovich couple's wooden house.

Once inside, Joja noticed that Ivanovich did indeed have symptoms of OCD.

Every time he spoke, he would pause to confirm that you understood what he meant.

The wooden house, similar to the one Joja and the others were staying in, was tidied up to the extreme. Although not spotless, Joja noticed that almost everything was placed in the most convenient positions.

There was always a pen next to the book, the key to the wooden house had to be hung in the most conspicuous place at the entrance, and the tips of the shoes had to be facing outwards...

Watching Ivanovich walk to the sofa in the living room, smiling as he greeted Anna, who was watching TV, and then casually picking up the TV remote that Anna had left on the sofa and placing it in the center of the coffee table.

Levi realized that Ivanovich might not just have OCD, but was also likely a workaholic, as the placement of all his belongings showed that he pursued efficiency.

Joja found it very awkward to chat with Ivanovich. Although he had an accent, his use of grammar was very strict.

If Joja showed any signs of distraction, he would say, "I'm sorry, did I not make myself clear just now?"

This kind of person couldn't tolerate any distractions in his mind. Anything that made him feel uncomfortable had to be dealt with immediately, or else he would continue to feel uneasy.

Joja felt very strange. He didn't understand how such a person could become a salesperson for a Serbian state-owned arms company.

Seeing Joja's confusion, Valentina brought them each a cup of coffee and said regretfully, "My husband used to be a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Serbia, but was later transferred to Euginbert Company as a deputy general manager in a business position.

You may have noticed that he is actually more suitable for teaching work."

Sitting next to Ivanovich, Valentina linked her arm with his and said with a smile, "His career has encountered some setbacks, but Anna and I both feel that if this opportunity can allow him to return to the university, it would be a good thing.

Unfortunately, he doesn't think so himself, so he secretly drank all night by himself yesterday, and drank a lot again after we left this morning."

Talking to Ivanovich was really tiring, so Joja turned to Valentina and said, "I think Mr. Ivanovich is very nervous. As a man, I can feel the helplessness in him.

What exactly is the reason that makes him think that his career setbacks will make his daughter lose her dream?"

Joja glanced at Anna, who was sitting silently on the side, and smiled, "I guess any father would be willing to sacrifice everything for such an outstanding daughter, even if it means doing a job that he doesn't like and isn't good at."

"I don't need it!"

Anna stood up as if she had been stimulated, looking at Ivanovich and saying loudly, "I don't need a damn coach, I don't need a physical trainer, and I certainly don't need a damn nutritionist. Having Mom with me to practice is enough.

I can do it myself, I don't need you to sacrifice anything for me..."

"Anna, sit down!"

Valentina stood up and scolded her daughter loudly, then apologized to Joja and the others with a sorry smile, saying, "I'm really sorry..."

Joja couldn't stand this strange atmosphere, so he chose to get straight to the point.

Looking at the gloomy Ivanovich, Joja said, "I hope you don't mind me asking, what kind of athlete is your daughter? Is the coach very expensive?"

"Tennis. Anna's mother used to be a tennis player and achieved a good ranking in the top 80 in the world. Unfortunately, injuries ruined her career.

Anna's mother was very talented, but because she didn't have a professional coach and medical staff, she suffered frequent injuries.

I don't want Anna to end up like that. She is a talented child and should pursue her dreams, not go to Italy to be a model just to make money."

Joja didn't know much about tennis, except for knowing about Kournikova and Sharapova, he knew nothing about tennis.

Looking at the gloomy Ivanovich, Joja curiously said, "So you switched from the university to Euginbert Company just to earn more money to hire a coach for your daughter?"

Ivanovich nodded slightly and said, "Yes, but I messed up because I didn't have some documents ready. A batch of our company's goods was detained by the Italian customs.

These were samples for the Tunisian defense exhibition next month.

If I can't solve the problem, I will passively lose my job."

Ivanovich probably felt that it was inappropriate to talk to the guests about these things, so he waved his hand and said, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have told you these things. My original intention was to apologize for my rudeness this morning.

At the same time, I have to thank you. If you hadn't taken me home, I might have been even more embarrassed."

Looking at the honest Ivanovich, who had to tell the whole truth and never lied, Joja sympathetically said, "Brother, I really think you are not suitable for a business position.

But do you remember what I said before? We are colleagues. Although I don't quite agree with your choice of work, I have to admit that you are a very honest person.

Maybe I can help you get the goods back..."

Ivanovich was stunned for a moment, then grabbed Joja's hand with joy and said, "Really? Thank you so much!"

Valentina looked at her husband, who didn't understand anything about human affairs, and walked over awkwardly to pull Ivanovich aside, saying a few words in a low voice. Then Ivanovich walked over awkwardly and said, "Is there anything I can do to repay you?

The company has given me some authority, if you can..."Joja felt a bit embarrassed by the remark, but thankfully Valentina rushed over and tugged at her husband's sleeve before turning to Joja and saying, "I'm sorry, he's just like that. Please don't take it personally.

If you really can help, we would be eternally grateful.

If there's anything we can do for you, please just tell us. As long as it's within our power, we will not refuse."

For the first time, Joja felt how painful it could be to talk with an honest person. Ivanovich's 'honesty' left him so embarrassed that he didn't know what to do.

However, it was precisely such a person who was the safest collaborator, because Joja wasn't sure he could outplay those slick arms dealers.

With a sense of resignation, he rubbed his temples and decided to get straight to the point: "I have some arms clients in Africa, so when I heard you were from Euginbert, I thought I'd try to get to know you. There might be opportunities for us to collaborate in the future.

To show my sincerity, tell me the details about your detained goods, and I'll try to help you get them back.

However, there might be some expenses involved. I believe your company has a budget for public relations expenses, can you make the decision?"

While saying this, Joja glanced at Anna and then spoke to the conflicted Ivanovich: "I help you keep your job, and you help your daughter keep her dream.

You can consider this a welcome gift from a potential high-quality client!

If you want to repay me, just tell me about things I'm interested in.

Of course, if you can give me a discount when I decide to purchase arms in the future, I would be extremely grateful."

When you're just trying to make great content at bit.ly/3iBfjkV.

Ivanovich looked at Joja incredulously and said, "You want to purchase arms?

You're Chinese, and you want to buy Serbian products?"
